“We had a great experience using Katie and Jeremy to watch our dog. It was obvious that they love animals. They were kind and flexible and so easy to work with. This was our first time leaving our young dog and so we were a bit anxious. As a pup our dog has a lot of energy but he also has some medical conditions involving his back legs/knees which will be corrected this summer with surgery. Navigating these two things can be a challenge but Katie and Jeremy had no difficulty at all - they sent many photos so we could see how well our pup was doing and this immediately put us at ease. They have a lovely property with a fenced in yard and a back porch - our dog was in dogggie- heaven. We were actually a bit worried he wouldn’t want to come home!! LOL! About: I grew up with dogs as family pets and have always considered myself a “dog person.” My family had a sheepdog, a black lab, and a Scottish sheepdog, which helped shape my lifelong love for animals. About 30 years ago, I met my wife, a true cat person through and through, and over time I happily transitioned into becoming a devoted cat lover as well. Over the years, my wife and I have shared life with three cats, even taking them on leash walks around the neighborhood—yes, I am proudly that person now. Bella, my 18-year-old super senior cat, just lost her struggle with kidney disease and we miss her dearly. My wife and I spoil our animals all the time. Our cats have always been like children to us and the bonds we build with our animals over the years have been deeply meaningful. I believe animals teach unconditional love, friendship, and have a beautiful way of offering comfort exactly when it’s needed most. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have spent years looking after neighbors’ chickens, rabbits, dogs, cats, hamsters, and even a rat! After 13 years of teaching English at a nearby Early College, I recently retired from education and am excited to begin this new chapter with Rover. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. About: What started out as an occasional cat sitting for my family friends quickly turned into a career. I have taken care of people’s horses, cats, dogs, chickens, basically you name it! From Wilmington, to Blowing Rock, to the great state of South Dakota, I have provided reliable and safe care for hundreds of animals so their owners can rest assured while they are away. About: I have been a veterinary nurse at an AAHA accredited hospital for the last 6 years, and prior to that, worked at an additional hospital as well as a pet store with exotics. I am more than comfortable administering any method of medication, and taking care of your medical needs, special needs, or senior fur babies. I own two friendly dogs, two sassy cats, and a baby ball python myself- variety is the spice of life. I’m comfortable administering medications in any form, from pills to inhalers, and my own pets are on daily medication routines so it’s second nature. My background in farming gave me hands-on experience with animal health and handling, and I’ve worked with my own dogs on training from puppyhood. I’m home all day, every day, so your dog gets constant attention and care, not just a place to play and sleep. I work from home Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, with a flexible schedule that gives me plenty of time in the mornings, evenings, and throughout the day. I have lots of time for walks, potty breaks, and playtime, and my job allows me to step away whenever your pup needs attention. I can work from my office or the couch, wherever your dog is most comfortable. On my days off I tend to stay close to home, and if I do need to run an errand I won’t be gone long and can always accommodate you and your dog’s needs. I share my home with three animals who are very well loved. Haddie is my 7 year old spayed terrier mix, about 22 pounds, and my two cats are Zuzu, a spayed senior, and June, who is 4 years old and also spayed. Each of them has their own dietary and medical needs, so I’m already in the routine of specialized diets and medications. Your dog will fit right into that level of care. Haddie goes out every two to four hours and we walk together every day. There’s also plenty of backyard playtime. The backyard is not currently fenced, but a fence is going up soon. In the meantime I have a post with a long leash line in the yard and keep Haddie on a harness. I am always outside with her when using the leash line and never leave her unattended, and will do the same for your dog. My home is clean, open, and pet friendly. The furniture and beds are fair game for your dog. I do have a dedicated cat room with a gate that only the cats can fit through, so they always have their own safe space. All of my houseplants are pet safe as well. I also live at the end of a dead end street near the cul de sac, so it’s a quiet area with only local traffic and no busy roads nearby.

Bella, my 18-year-old super senior cat, just lost her struggle with kidney disease and we miss her dearly. My wife and I spoil our animals all the time. Our cats have always been like children to us and the bonds we build with our animals over the years have been deeply meaningful. I believe animals teach unconditional love, friendship, and have a beautiful way of offering comfort exactly when it’s needed most. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have spent years looking after neighbors’ chickens, rabbits, dogs, cats, hamsters, and even a rat! After 13 years of teaching English at a nearby Early College, I recently retired from education and am excited to begin this new chapter with Rover. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. When I am not caring for animals, I run a professional mountain biking guide service in Asheville called Pisgah Mountain Bike Adventures. With more than 40 years of passion for mountain biking, being outdoors and in the mountains is where I feel most at home. I also run an Airbnb in our finished basement and I am currently writing a memoir. I am excited to be part of the Rover team and I look forward to caring for your dog, cat, or other beloved pet with the same level of attentiveness and heart that I have given to everything in my life. I am more than comfortable administering any method of medication, and taking care of your medical needs, special needs, or senior fur babies. I own two friendly dogs, two sassy cats, and a baby ball python myself- variety is the spice of life. If you’re looking for a medically experienced caretaker for your kids, I’m your gal! *also have grooming experience with medical needs animals I just moved to the Asheville area, so Im excited to explore around. About: I’ve had and cared for dogs and cats my entire life. My neighbors call on me as they know how much I love their pets as my own. I have experience with training and had an Australian Labradoodle as well as cat. I am not quite ready to get a new dog but would love to spend time with some furry friends with my current flexibility! About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I've been in the veterinary field for 10+ years and have always had pets growing up. I'm a licensed veterinary medical technician and have experience in General Practice, Emergency/ICU, Exotics, and Research. I'm a single mom with an 8 year old daughter, 2 dogs, and 3 cats at home. I understand the importance of maintaining a consistent schedule for your pets both for their mental and physical health. I love building relationships with different animals and I can't wait to meet yours! I currently work full-time as a vet tech, but am able to do drop-ins before and after my shifts. I'm also available for more drop-ins during the weekend. My goal is for you and your pet to feel as comfortable as possible. I understand having someone come into your house can be stressful for both yourself and your pets. Communication is key and knowing what to expect can make this process go smoothly. Also, patience and taking it slow can help calm a pet's anxiety which is always my goal. Once your pet is comfortable with me, basic care such as feeding, taking outside, giving medications, etc. is just the minimum. The human-animal bond is important and playing with them and spending time with them only increases that bond. Whether your pet enjoys playing fetch, frisbee, or whatever, those things are great for your pet.

As a pup our dog has a lot of energy but he also has some medical conditions involving his back legs/knees which will be corrected this summer with surgery. Navigating these two things can be a challenge but Katie and Jeremy had no difficulty at all - they sent many photos so we could see how well our pup was doing and this immediately put us at ease.
