I work from home Monday through Friday, which allows me to be available for your dog’s needs throughout most of the day. Your dog won’t be left alone for long periods, and I’m able to provide regular attention, potty breaks, and a calm, consistent presence. My flexible schedule makes it easy to accommodate different routines, whether your dog is active and playful or prefers a slower, more relaxed pace.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide a calm, safe, and attentive home environment where your dog can truly relax. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time, along with a peaceful indoor space designed to keep dogs comfortable and at ease. Since I work from home, I’m able to supervise throughout the day and keep a close eye on each dog’s needs and comfort level. I take time to understand your dog’s routine, temperament, and preferences so they feel secure and at home. I keep my space clean, low-stress, and structured, and I’m happy to follow any specific instructions you have, whether that’s feeding schedules, medications, or crate routines if needed. My goal is for your dog to feel as close to home as possible while they’re here.

Information Melody L. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know about your dog’s personality, routine, and any specific needs ahead of time. This includes things like feeding schedule, energy level, socialization with other dogs, anxiety triggers, medical needs, or anything that helps them feel comfortable. I’m best suited for dogs that do well in a calm home environment. Since I focus on providing a peaceful, attentive space, I may not be the best fit for highly aggressive behaviors, but I’m very happy to work with shy, sensitive, or senior dogs who benefit from a gentler approach.

A typical day

A typical day is relaxed, structured, and tailored to your dog. Mornings start with potty breaks and a calm start to the day, followed by meals and light activity. Throughout the day, we’ll have a mix of outdoor time, gentle play, and plenty of rest. Since I’m home during the day, your dog will have consistent companionship and attention. I adjust the pace based on their energy level, whether that’s playtime and stimulation or a slower, cozy day with lots of lounging and comfort.

Pet care experience

Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is something that comes very naturally to me. I recently said goodbye to my own dog after 18 wonderful years together, and that experience deepened my understanding of the love, patience, and attentiveness our dogs deserve at every stage of life. I’m currently offering dog boarding in my home only. I’m not accepting walks or drop-in visits at this time. This allows me to be fully present and create a calm, attentive environment for the dogs in my care. Friends and family often call me an “animal whisperer” because of my intuitive connection with animals. I spent two years volunteering at an animal rescue in Colorado, working with dogs, cats, and even rescued farm animals, which gave me experience with a wide range of temperaments and needs. Whether your dog is energetic, anxious, or a senior needing extra support, I focus on creating a safe, peaceful space where they can feel comfortable and cared for. I take the time to understand each dog’s personality, routines, and preferences so they feel as at home as possible.

Melody was so very patient with my Missy..who obviously was anxious and nervous about missing her mama 😊. Melody has such a peaceful home that definitely encourages relaxing and peacefulness and calm..Missy needed that. Also..Melody kept in touch through Missy’s stay with updates and awesome pictures!!

Melody was truly amazing and took such great care of Pippa. With all the daily outings and adventures, it was clear Pippa was getting so much love and attention. The pictures she sent were such a great bonus and something I looked forward to every day. Thank you so much, Melody and Steve! I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and hope to use their care again in the future. 🐾

I can’t say enough good about Melody. We would leave Gaia in her care any time. If she lived close to us and we were going away for a month, we would leave Gaia in her care and feel 100% secure. She has a lovely environment for a dog ( or a human), made our dog feel instantly comfortable, and showed her a really good time.

Melody was a wonderful host to little Tilly. She was very communicative before and during the stay. She took the trouble to understand Tilly's personality and tailor the care to her. She also took the most remarkable photos. Strong recommend.
