About: I have two dogs at home. I have taken my oldest to puppy kindergarten when he was little and trained him and also trained my other dog as well. They are well trained and behaved. I am currently out of school and am looking for some side work while I try to get a other job. I have house and pet sat and babysat in the past so this would be easy. I have a beautiful big fenced yard to play and two very sweet dogs(one 12 year old boy and one 4 year old girl). I have a nice walk from my house I go on with my dogs often.
“Alyssa was absolutely amazing with my pup, Biggie! She took care of him while my family and I went to the Biltmore and out to dinner, and I couldn’t have felt more at ease. She sent so many pictures and videos throughout the time he was with her, which made me feel so comfortable and reassured. She was incredibly accommodating, and it was clear from the moment we picked him up that he had the best time! Biggie went straight to sleep when we got home, which tells me he was happy, loved, and well played with. Alyssa and her family treated Biggie like one of their own, and it truly meant so much to me. I would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and loving sitter. We will absolutely be booking with her again whenever we visit!!”
About: I have cared for my own pets, and for friends pets, for as long as I can remember. I am completely comfortable with any age and almost any type of pet. When I was 16 I volunteered at a Vet office for over a year where I learned everything from injection to caring for sick and injured animals. I feel prepared for just about anything that comes my way. I’m happy to now offer dog boarding. We have 3 acres with 1 acre fenced in for the dogs to play. We are in a semi-remote location in East Asheville so there are no busy roads. We usually only take in friends dogs for boarding but we are opening up our home for dog day care or boarding. I usually would try and schedule my visits around my kids school drop-off and pickup. I can usually be flexible if there are special circumstances. I have a flexible work from home job that would allow me to schedule my day around your pets needs. Your rules are my rules! I am very respectful of the rules you have set around your pet. Whether it’s a strict diet or how you secure them in your home or no pets on future. You set the rules for your pet ;)
“Golda was great with our dog, Cooper. He was with Golda part of everyday for four days. As we'd approach her home he would become very excited! Nothing better than a well-cared for happy dog! Thank you, Golda.”

About: As a remote Registered Nurse (RN), I bring a clinical eye to pet care. I notice subtle changes in behavior or health that others might miss. I’m comfortable administering medications in any form, from pills to inhalers, and my own pets are on daily medication routines so it’s second nature. My background in farming gave me hands-on experience with animal health and handling, and I’ve worked with my own dogs on training from puppyhood. I’m home all day, every day, so your dog gets constant attention and care, not just a place to play and sleep. I work from home Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, with a flexible schedule that gives me plenty of time in the mornings, evenings, and throughout the day. I have lots of time for walks, potty breaks, and playtime, and my job allows me to step away whenever your pup needs attention. I can work from my office or the couch, wherever your dog is most comfortable. On my days off I tend to stay close to home, and if I do need to run an errand I won’t be gone long and can always accommodate you and your dog’s needs. I share my home with three animals who are very well loved. Haddie is my 7 year old spayed terrier mix, about 22 pounds, and my two cats are Zuzu, a spayed senior, and June, who is 4 years old and also spayed. Each of them has their own dietary and medical needs, so I’m already in the routine of specialized diets and medications. Your dog will fit right into that level of care. Haddie goes out every two to four hours and we walk together every day. There’s also plenty of backyard playtime. The backyard is not currently fenced, but a fence is going up soon. In the meantime I have a post with a long leash line in the yard and keep Haddie on a harness. I am always outside with her when using the leash line and never leave her unattended, and will do the same for your dog. My home is clean, open, and pet friendly. The furniture and beds are fair game for your dog. I do have a dedicated cat room with a gate that only the cats can fit through, so they always have their own safe space. All of my houseplants are pet safe as well. I also live at the end of a dead end street near the cul de sac, so it’s a quiet area with only local traffic and no busy roads nearby.
“Stephanie was very sweet and patient with my baby and I am so appreciative. She sent me updates throughout the day which I enjoyed. She was accommodating to my hectic schedule.”

About: I provide reliable, loving care for pets of all ages and personalities. What sets me apart is my hands on experience with both energetic puppies and gentle senior pets. I’m patient and attentive- whether it’s helping a puppy with basic training or ensuring an older dog stays comfortable and cared for. I take time to get to know each pets unique routine, personality, and needs. From playtime and walks to medication reminders and calm companionship, I make sure every pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. You can count on me for clear communication, detailed updates, and genuine care that gives you peace of mind every time. I typically walk everyday and I work remote two days a week. I’m always doing some outdoor activity on the weekends so walking and taking care of your pet fits in perfectly! I have a very secure home with a large fenced in backyard as well as a screened in back porch. We have bright flood lights in the yard so I can easily see your pet at night!
“Nate was extremely awesome and amazing. First of all, he’s a really great guy and I felt completely comfortable. Leaving my two beloved dogs with him.. his dog Bilbo is amazing and so adorable. Bill gets along with all dogs.. Nate’s backyard is amazing and perfect and shaded. It has a lot of shade for Hot North Carolina days. He was very attentive to my dogs when I had a concern about my female during the day.. he really knows how to handle an acclimate dogs. I highly recommend him.. I never worried about leaving my dogs with him while I was at a very long all day class for three days. When we go back to Asheville if Nate is available, I will definitely ask him to watch my dogs again..”

“Richard watched our dog who has isolation/separation distress and quickly figured out he will calm when a human gives him some attention. Eventually Pooh settled in and slept and relaxed at Richard’s. It was a relief to know Pooh was in good hands while I ran errands.”

About: I have been an animal lover my whole life! I got into pet grooming at an early age and have worked and managed in a few different salons around Asheville, NC. I have extensive knowledge of animals such as keeping things sanitary and following strict schedules, diets and plans to fit the animals needs. I am currently available any day and am only accepting drop in visits and bathing at this time. I am new to Rover so I am looking for my first bookings. I can provide references of animals I have cared for previously. I can stick to a strict diet plan and bathe if needed. I will keep your home tidy during the visits and follow any instructions that are left with me.
“Miranda was very kind and understanding about my rescue dog Sable having separation anxiety. Sable loved the yard and the opportunity to meet another dog friend. She was clearly comfortable with Miranda and calm during her daytime stay. We will definitely book her again in the future!”

“Milendi was great. She was able to accomodate in a very short window. She responded quickly to the request and answer all my questions. When we arrived to drop off Scrappy, she was waiting for him. She let me know how Scrappy was doing. And when we came to get him she was waiting for us with him. He seem happy when we came to get him. I will definitely contact her again if we need to.”

“April was amazing with our dogs! She was very communicative and sent update photos to show us how much fun and relaxation our dogs had at her home. Highly recommend booking with April!”

“Jackie is the BEST and my Pom pup Remy had a great day. He met a new doggie friend and went for a hike. Thank you Jackie! Remy will come see you again next time we're in Asheville :-)”

About: **About me & my home** Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember — they are simply woven into who I am. I hold an associate's degree in pre-veterinary medicine and have volunteered alongside veterinarians, which gave me hands-on clinical experience and a deeper understanding of animal health and behavior. I have spent a lifetime learning what truly makes dogs tick, and it shows in how I care for them. I live with my husband and our Boston Terrier, **Leo** — just the three of us. We are a quiet, dog-loving household with no children or other pets, which means your dog will enjoy a calm, attentive environment from the moment they arrive. Leo is charming, friendly, and absolutely loves meeting new dogs and playing. My husband and I are both devoted dog lovers, so your pup will never be short on affection. I am currently not working, which means I am home all day, every day — your dog will have my complete, undivided attention around the clock. No rushing off to an office, no leaving your pup alone. Just full-time, devoted care. I am also a photographer, so expect an abundance of beautiful, candid photos and videos of your dog throughout their stay — memories you'll want to keep forever. **My approach: quality over quantity, always** I accept one family at a time — this is intentional and non-negotiable. Your dog deserves undivided attention, not a crowded boarding environment. Families with two dogs are warmly welcome; that is the perfect arrangement. Your pets will be treated like family: long walks on beautiful forested trails right from my door, plenty of love, proper nutrition, and full-time human companionship every single day. **Good to know before booking** - I do not accept aggressive dogs under any circumstances. - I do not accept females in heat. - Please bathe your dog before arrival — I have allergies, and a fresh coat makes a meaningful difference. Bathing on arrival is available for an additional fee. - Please bring: crate, bed, bowls, leash, favorite toys, and any medications. - Medication administration fee: 1 medication once/day $3 · twice/day $5 | 2 medications once/day $5 · twice/day $10. - Tell me everything — quirks, anxieties, funny habits, challenging behaviors. I've heard and seen it all, and I never judge. The more you share, the better I can care for your loved one. - Not a good fit for very large or extremely powerful dogs that require exceptional physical strength to handle safely on a leash. **Other pets I can care for:** Turtles · Hamsters · Guinea pigs · Bunnies · Fish · Birds NEW CLIENTS: $20 of your first booking when you use this link to book: https://www.rover.com/sit/linao I am all day at home, doggies will have me around pretty much all the time; except when I go out to run an errand. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Happy Valley
Bridget greeted our pups with enthusiasm and her setup was great—a big fenced grassy back yard and even a dog bed, toys and water bowl at the ready inside. Our dogs enjoyed their stay and were happy and calm when we picked them up. Her location is easy to get to, minutes from downtown Asheville. We highly recommend this delightful Rover sitter!

Alyssa’s place is a puppy paradise! Walking trails, toys galore, comfy beds and most especially lots and lots of loving care make this place the only place for my furry family member. My Charlee is very timid and afraid of everything. But, by the end of the day her tail was high and she was proud to introduce me to her new family! You can’t go wrong with Alyssa! I’ve never seen better!
My two pups had a great stay with Abigail and her pups! I'm very happy with how everything went and I wouldn't hesitate to book again. She was very accommodating and understanding of my dog's special needs, and flexible dealing with my schedule. I received lots of updates during their stay that reassured me that my dogs were having a great time. I could tell from the way that they interacted with my pups that she is a caring dog person! Thank you so much!!

We had a last minute need for a dog sitter and Jen helped us out greatly!! Our dog, Macy had a great and comfortable time! Jen was great with communication when we were running behind or needed to pick up early. Once again, greatly appreciated her helping us out!!

Jenny and Franklin were really great with Moxie my 10 year old black lab for a day of doggie sitting at their place. Moxie has some special needs and they were very attentive to what she needed. They sent pics and updates and I felt very comfortable having Moxie in their care.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Happy Valley commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
