“Shannon took the time and patience that our shy kitties needed. She was very communicative and shared more than average details after each check in. She also helped us out of an unexpected pickle and was able to fulfill duties, including medication administration, that were not part and f the original plan. We highly recommend Shannon for kitty-care!”

“We've booked with Savanah twice now to look after our 2 cats! She is extremely attentive, punctual and communicative! The boys always look like they are having fun when she's over (even our shy one), and we will not hesitate to book with her again! She is so attentive!”

“Lilie was amazing! She sent pictures of Welsey and went over the top with comminication. 10/10 would recommend and will be reaching out to her again in the furture.”

“I adopted my dog fairly recently so I was nervous about leaving her with someone else for the weekend, but Megan was extremely attentive and made me feel comfortable on day 1! She was wonderful about providing updates and asking about details I hadn't even considered. I have a cat as well and I could tell they were both very fond of her by the end of the weekend. I would definitely recommend Megan to anybody looking for a petsitter.”

“Ines did drop in visits with our new adult dog, Ducky, who was working on potty training. And also our other dog, Fievel. She followed the instructions on how to take both of our dogs out to potty in a way that was safe for the two of them! She gave detailed follow ups after each drop in”

“This was our first time booking with Lyndsi and it was a great experience! I loved reading her synopsis of each drop in visit and looking at the photos. She was great with communication and I could tell that she really cared about my pups and their wellbeing. Will definitely be using Lyndsi in the future.”

About: What sets me apart is my lifelong experience caring for all kinds of dogs and cats, from energetic puppies to senior pets who need extra patience and gentle care. I’m comfortable with large breeds, shy or anxious dogs, and managing multiple pets at once. I’ve also worked on basic puppy training like leash walking and simple commands, so I can reinforce good habits during walks or visits. I’m calm, attentive, and genuinely love spending time with animals, which helps pets feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. I treat every pet like they’re my own, paying close attention to their individual needs, routines, and personalities. I work early mornings at a bakery, so I’m available most afternoons and evenings throughout the week. My schedule can vary slightly, but I’m flexible, easy to reach, and can usually confirm timing at least a day in advance! While doing dog walks and drop-ins, I make sure your pets are safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for, and that all of their needs are met while you’re away. I treat every pet with patience, love, and attention, and I also make sure your home is respected and taken care of during visits. I’m always open to communication, so you can easily get in touch with me while I’m with your pet, and I’m happy to send pictures and updates so you feel reassured and connected the whole time.
“Mersadi was awesome with Casper, who can be very intimidating to some, and detail-oriented with Buddy, who's kind of picky. She communicated very well, and was punctual. I'd 100% recommend her to care for your pets!”

“James was great with my wild boys. I needed someone last min and he was on it! He's attentive, communicative, warm and put my dogs at ease. Glad to have found him and will use his services again.”

“I've used rover a lot and have had mostly good experiences. With that said it can still be hard to trust a stranger with your animals. With that said, Danae is fantastic. From our first meeting, it was immediately obvious she cared deeply about doing her job and ensuring our animals would be safe and happy. Through our our trip, Danae kept us up to date on their activities and followed up on any concerns. Danae is the best! Highly recommend!”

“Eliza was a great first time Rover experience. She was timely for her visits, played with Moby, and always gave updates and sent photos. If you want to have no worries with your pet she is the Rover sitter for you, looking forward to working with her again in the near future.”

“Our kitty was in great hands with Sara while we were out of town. She is friendly and communicative — we really appreciated her prompt, daily updates and photos when she stopped by for check-ins. We will absolutely have Sara back to care for our kitty the next time we are out of town!”

“Makenzy was so good with my kitty. I could see in her beautiful photos that he was happy and enjoying himself. She really makes an effort and cares! I highly recommend her.”

About: I'm that go to friend that everyone always asks to love on their pets while they are busy or out of town. I've had all sorts of pets in my life too. No requests to weird. I love to send selfies of your furbabies so you know they are safe and happy. I live in west Asheville and am able to travel to close towns. I have taken care of the special needs of animals I cared for. Pills and special food is all good. I do require a meet up drop in visit before we book a stay. I want to meet you and your pet in their own home and learn about their particular needs. This is so we both feel that your fur baby is being cared for the way they are used to. Less stress for pets and pet parents this way. I do work outside of pet sitting, but still have free time for pets. Im available for overnight stays as well. I will treat your home as I would my own. And yes I can bring in the mail(or packages) for you too. I appreciate written care instructions. That way if there is ever an emergency I can take the best possible care of your pet in a timely manner. LGBTQ+ friendly (obviously lol)

About: Hi, I’m Adrienne! 🐾 For years, I’ve been the reliable “go-to” person for friends and family whenever they need someone to care for their pets while they’re away. From cats and dogs to even goats, I’ve loved getting to know all kinds of animals and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. As a pet owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust. I have both a cat and a dog of my own, so I know firsthand that pets are family. When caring for your pet, I’ll treat them with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I’m happy to help with walks, feeding, playtime, cuddles, litter box cleaning, and maintaining your pet’s daily routine. I’m also comfortable administering medications, including pills and inhalers, and I’m happy to follow any special instructions to keep your pet healthy and comfortable. Communication is important to me, so you can expect plenty of photos and updates while you’re away. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, loved, and receiving the best care possible. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! 🐶🐱 I work from home and typically work about 5–6 hours a day, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability for pet care throughout the day. Since I’m home most of the time, I’m able to provide consistent attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and check-ins without long gaps between visits. I love getting outside for daily walks, and having a dog companion would make that even better since my own dog is usually at work with my fiancé. My schedule allows me to be reliable, present, and responsive, so your pet will never feel like they’re being rushed or left alone for long periods. I truly enjoy incorporating pet care into my day and making it part of my routine. I’m available for morning, midday, and afternoon visits depending on your pet’s needs, and I’m happy to follow their normal routine to keep things as comfortable and familiar as possible! I offer in-home pet care and dog walking services, making sure your pets stay comfortable in their own familiar environment while you’re away. I believe pets are happiest when they can stick to their normal routine, so I focus on providing calm, consistent care right in your home. For walks, I love taking dogs out on local neighborhood routes or nearby trails so they can safely explore, get fresh air, and enjoy their exercise time. Whether your dog prefers a relaxed stroll or a more active walk, I adjust the pace to match their energy level and needs. At this time, I do not offer care in my home as my cat is prone to getting stressed with change in her environment.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Enka Village
Alema was incredible! We really appreciated all the questions she asked about our kittens prior to watching them. She genuinely cares about the pets she is caring for while you are gone. Ash and Ember were well cared for in our absence. We highly recommend Alema.

Absolutely outstanding. Can't recommend Kate highly enough. She takes kitty care to a whole new level. We felt lucky to have Kate take care of our cat. She thinks of everything, lots of toys, fun videos and plenty of pictures. You just don't worry at all about your pet. I came home to a really happy cat.

Danae was amazing! She was very thorough and thought of things I didn't even think of to make sure my kitties were well taken care of. I really appreciated the communication and all the pictures sent. It gave me peace of mind so I could enjoy my trip without worrying too much about my boys. I will definitely be using Danae in the future!!

Jane was amazing with our cats! She was so communicative and went above and beyond to make sure they stayed warm during the below freezing temps while we were out of town. She was very sweet with the cats and made sure to give each of them attention. We will absolutely be using her again!!

We’re so lucky to have found Willa. She's someone you just *know* you can trust when you meet them. She took the time to meet our extremely shy cat on his level and care for him in all the ways you could only hope for. Attentive, kind, knowledgeable and above all else - caring. She was responsive from the moment I sent the inquiry and communicated with us during our whole trip (sending lots of updates and pictures). You can rely on her to be there for your pet with patience and love. Genuinely can’t say enough about how wonderful Willa is. You won’t be disappointed and your fur babies will thank you!

This was my first time using Rover and a friend recommended Shay to me to look after my two senior kitties. Let me just say that my orange tabby NEVER comes out for anyone but he came out for Shay. She is some sort of magical cat whisperer I swear. She also sent me some of the best photos and videos! Communication was very clear and my babies were so well taken care of. I get so nervous leaving them but it was a huge weight off my shoulders knowing Shay was taking great care of them. I will definitely be booking with her in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Enka Village. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
