“This was the first time Shannon did a drop-in to let our dogs out while we were gone for the day and it went great. We didn't have to worry about rushing home cause they were taken care of. Will definitely use her again when we have the need.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs & cats since I was 10. I’ve helped numerous friends, neighbors, and family members with house sitting, dog walks, and pet care. I am currently a second year PA student on clinical rotations so I have a lot of flexibility to take care of your fur babies. I live in an apartment so I would prefer to take care of your fur baby in your own home but I am flexible to other arrangements.
“Carolyn was so great with our senior cat! Charlie is very stand offish with new people but he interacted with her! It sounds small but its a big accomplishment lol. He took his pills both days and the communication was excellent. Everything was clean when we got back too. Definitely will ask Carolyn to care for Charlie again!”
About: Hello! I’m Golda, I love going on hikes in and around Asheville area and would love to take along your furry pal. I have dog training experience and am confident with all sizes and temperaments. I am a dedicated public school teacher who’s also an avid animal lover. I ran a small homestead, caring for a wide range of livestock for seven years. While I spend the school year fostering young minds, I’m excited to offer my services as a dependable pet and farm animal caregiver as often as possible! I understand the unique needs of each animal and take pride in providing personalized, loving care while you’re away. Whether it's daily walks, training exercises or administering medication, I’m here to make sure your pets and animals receive top-notch care. I live in a pet friendly neighborhood, adjacent to Oakley Park. My home provides 1/4 acre of fenced yard to run and play in. Regular updates with photos and notes.
“I adopted my dog fairly recently so I was nervous about leaving her with someone else for the weekend, but Megan was extremely attentive and made me feel comfortable on day 1! She was wonderful about providing updates and asking about details I hadn't even considered. I have a cat as well and I could tell they were both very fond of her by the end of the weekend. I would definitely recommend Megan to anybody looking for a petsitter.”

“Elizabeth took great care of our cats while we were away. While they’re too shy for socializing, she ensured that their food, water, and litter boxes were maintained. We would recommend Elizabeth and schedule with her again!”

“Alema had great communication, was timely, took lots of photos, brought sanitized and clean, enrichment toys for my kitty to play with with her and checked that my kitty's feeder and fountain were working properly and had enough food and water. Would love to have her as a sitter again.”

“We've booked with Matilda twice now and each time she has been super responsive, very caring towards our two cats and our home. We hope to work with Matilda again in the future!”

“I will absolutely book with Alice again. She showed up when she said she would and, most importantly, communicated perfectly. I feel much more at ease going on vacation now knowing that Alice will be taking care of my pup!”

“Ashley is a wonderful sitter and I’m so glad I found her! Ashley stops by to give my pup some cuddles, a walk, and play time while I’m away at work, and he loves when she comes over. I sometimes need to change the time of her visit last minute due to my job, and she is always flexible to meet my needs. I really appreciate how she always gives me a thorough report with lots of pictures! I fully trust Ashley to take good care of my dog, and I’m glad I found such a thoughtful and caring sitter!”

About: The types of experience I’ve had was taking care of two of my friends dogs over the years and I myself have three dogs that I love and adore I'm currently in school in the morning , so I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm available for House sitting, walking the dogs, drop-in visit, etc. Well all depends on the dog I’m going to take care of.. like one of my dog is very lazy for no reason and the other two are very hyper.. so what I do is that I walk the two dogs or take them to a dog park so they can play with other dogs and the other dog I just cuddle with him give him tummy rubs:)
“Omg Kathy is a treasure. She is conscientious, diligent, hardworking, reliable, and fun! Our pets warmed to her way faster than any prior pet sitter and that’s due to her great touch. She also took care of our plants and provided terrific communication and updates. Wow. What a special find!”

“I've used rover a lot and have had mostly good experiences. With that said it can still be hard to trust a stranger with your animals. With that said, Danae is fantastic. From our first meeting, it was immediately obvious she cared deeply about doing her job and ensuring our animals would be safe and happy. Through our our trip, Danae kept us up to date on their activities and followed up on any concerns. Danae is the best! Highly recommend!”

The median cost per visit for dog sitting in Asheville is $25

Adalin took great care of our pup, Boone! She updated with plenty of photos and messages throughout his stay. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. We would absolutely book with them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Carolyn was amazing with my animals. I appreciated her notes with them and her pictures. She went above and beyond with my cat making sure his litter was clean and making sure my dog got walked as much as possible. She made it easier for me to be away from them and I would recommend her to anyone who needs someone to watch their fur babies.

Emily always does SUCH a great job with Vader. He loves when she comes to check on him and it makes the short term separation a little easier for me knowing how comfortable he is with her. She is extremely respectful of my expectations and treats my home and Vader with the utmost care. Added bonus, she gets the greatest action shots of Vaders energy and happiness.

Maria is awesome! Highest possible recommendation. She is new to Rover but she has been house sitting for us for years and is the best house sitter we've ever had! Not only is Maria a superb animal caretaker and house sitter, she is who you want taking care of your house if something goes wrong. Over the years she has house sat for us, she's delt with plumbing, electrical and AC issues that have popped up while we are traveling. She handled all of them with the utmost care and professionalism. Again, we give Maria our highest recommendation for all pet services!

Paris has been walkingy dog several times a week for over a month. My dog Asher absolutely adores Paris! He seems to know when Paris is on the way to my house. Asher also boarded once at Paris' home when I had a brief emergency hospitalzation. Asher was well cared for. I can highly recommend Paris.

Hannah has been coming by once a week to play with my puppy & she’s great! My pup had a LOT of energy & Hannah keeps her active, gives her puzzle toys, & goes along with whatever new activity I have planned for the pup. She also sends cute pics & I can tell they’re having fun :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Asheville with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
