“Alex was such a gem! He sent very thorough notes and took lots of pics of our cats when he dropped in:) He did exactly what we instructed him to and we felt very safe having him take care of our babies. Would definitely recommend Alex and will book with him again in the future. He really went above and beyond!”

“Elizabeth took great care of our cats while we were away. While they’re too shy for socializing, she ensured that their food, water, and litter boxes were maintained. We would recommend Elizabeth and schedule with her again!”

“We've booked with Matilda twice now and each time she has been super responsive, very caring towards our two cats and our home. We hope to work with Matilda again in the future!”

“Giuliana has been absolutely amazing! I don't leave many reviews online, but she 100% deserves the recognition. Giuliana has gone above and beyond, I will definitely ask for her to pet sit next time it's needed.”

“Carolyn was very kind and patient with my cat, who is usually scared of new people. She managed to gain her trust and even play with her. I felt very comfortable leaving my cat in her care and highly recommend her.”

“I adopted my dog fairly recently so I was nervous about leaving her with someone else for the weekend, but Megan was extremely attentive and made me feel comfortable on day 1! She was wonderful about providing updates and asking about details I hadn't even considered. I have a cat as well and I could tell they were both very fond of her by the end of the weekend. I would definitely recommend Megan to anybody looking for a petsitter.”

“Shannon was great with our drugs and great with communication! We needed someone last minute and she was so easy to work with. Looking forward to booking with her in the future.”
“Alema was fantastic!! She took lots of great pictures of my kitty while we were out of town. It seemed like my cat was very happy and enjoyed playing with her, even though he can be shy around strangers. I would definitely have Alema sit for us again.”

“Lilie was amazing! She sent pictures of Welsey and went over the top with comminication. 10/10 would recommend and will be reaching out to her again in the furture.”

“Minori is the best! Our home and animals were so well cared for while we were out of town. I can't recommend Minori enough. She took our dog on long walks and spent loving time with our cats. She is very easy to communicate with and professional to work with. To top it off, she is super funny, don't hesitate to check out her standup comedy!”

About: I have a caring, outgoing, and patient personality that dogs are attracted to. I've always had a love for dogs and love to meet new furry friends any chance I can! Since my one and only dog passed away several years ago, my heart has been longing for a new dog. Dogs give me such happiness and I enjoy the happiness they bring to others as well. I also have a competitive running background of 12+ years so there will be no trouble with walking, running, or doing any sort of fun exercise with your furry friend! I'm so excited to help assist with anything your dog may need, even if its just some new company! I am currently working part time so my availability is pretty open. Please feel free to message me to see if I would be a great fit. I care for pets in your home by going to multiple walks per day, giving your pup the attention he/she deserves, and following any directions needed to best meet the needs of your pup.
About: Since moving to Asheville 8 years ago, I’ve sought out any opportunity I can to walk and care for friends’ dogs! I’m very receptive to learning what works best for your dog, so that they feel as comfortable as possible. I’m also experienced with dogs who prefer not to interact with other dogs or are people-shy, and am used to communicating those boundaries if necessary! I’m a very active human and really enjoy having a companion! On the days I’m available, my days are very flexible and open to working with your schedule to best cater to the needs of your pup and keep things consistent. I will defer to your preferences of what your pup is used to, to make sure they feel safe and cared for. Whether that be crating or cuddling on the couch, the priority is making your dog feel at home.
“Jennifer checked in on my two dogs. She was very easy to communicate with, send photos and a detailed description of what they did. I would definitely recommend!! Thank you Jennifer ?”

“Zaq is an incredible cat sitter! He watched my two cats while I was gone and was very communicative and sent pictures of them every visit. I highly recommend him! Will definitely be using his services again next time I have to leave my kitties at home”
“Not to be dramatic, but Louise is the best dog sitter I’ve ever had! My pup, Dolly, absolutely loves her and she’s always providing the sweetest most thoughtful updates and cute pictures. I always know Dolly will be well taken care of with Louise. I work long days in the summer months, so I need someone to give her exercise and attention during the day when I can’t. With other sitters I would come home and Dolly would still seem wound up, but she seems like she’s getting exactly what she needs with Louise. Couldn’t be happier with her!”

About: I’ve been sitting dogs at my Florida home for many years. I moved to Asheville two years ago for work and now I’m mostly retired. I live in North Asheville in a small apartment and available to house and pet sit. Having boarded dogs in my own house for many years you can bet I will give your home utmost respect and your pets the best care and companionship. I’m mostly looking for one week plus sitting jobs, give or take. I can sit most locations from Weaverville down to Hendersonville Walk dogs. Play with the dogs and cats and keep them content. And hang out on watch lots of TV together. Since I’m mostly retired I have lots of free time to spend with the pets. All instructions by owner for their pet care will be closely followed and respected. I’m sensitive about pets food needs and won’t feed them human food or let them up on the furniture if not allowed. Cat litter boxes will be cleaned daily. Longer stays will include brushing and baths for the dogs.
About: I've taken care of just about every animal since I was born. Especially cats and dogs but I've also taken care of reptiles, fish, chickens, rats, gerbils, hamsters, and even bugs. I've handled difficult dog breeds including pitbulls and preydriven rottweilers in a cat home. I am also not shy to pee or poop or any sick pets as I've been in and out of the vets offices as well. Im looking to possibly make this full time. So I am available just about whenever you need me to be there. This includes weekends as well. I am very pet friendly and enjoy being interactive no matter the species. Whether it's letting the crickets run so the bearded dragon can get some exercise or walking the puppy around the yard.
The median cost per visit for dog sitting in Asheville is $25
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Asheville
Carolyn was amazing with my animals. I appreciated her notes with them and her pictures. She went above and beyond with my cat making sure his litter was clean and making sure my dog got walked as much as possible. She made it easier for me to be away from them and I would recommend her to anyone who needs someone to watch their fur babies.

Emily always does SUCH a great job with Vader. He loves when she comes to check on him and it makes the short term separation a little easier for me knowing how comfortable he is with her. She is extremely respectful of my expectations and treats my home and Vader with the utmost care. Added bonus, she gets the greatest action shots of Vaders energy and happiness.

Maria is awesome! Highest possible recommendation. She is new to Rover but she has been house sitting for us for years and is the best house sitter we've ever had! Not only is Maria a superb animal caretaker and house sitter, she is who you want taking care of your house if something goes wrong. Over the years she has house sat for us, she's delt with plumbing, electrical and AC issues that have popped up while we are traveling. She handled all of them with the utmost care and professionalism. Again, we give Maria our highest recommendation for all pet services!

Paris has been walkingy dog several times a week for over a month. My dog Asher absolutely adores Paris! He seems to know when Paris is on the way to my house. Asher also boarded once at Paris' home when I had a brief emergency hospitalzation. Asher was well cared for. I can highly recommend Paris.

Hannah has been coming by once a week to play with my puppy & she’s great! My pup had a LOT of energy & Hannah keeps her active, gives her puzzle toys, & goes along with whatever new activity I have planned for the pup. She also sends cute pics & I can tell they’re having fun :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Asheville with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
