Availability
I have an extremely flexible schedule. If I'm in town I can drop in or walk on short notice and am usually available for overnights with 24-48 hour notice *if I have previously met your pet*. If you're on my schedule, I build my day around making sure your pet gets what they need.

Safety, trust & environment
While my home is dog friendly, my dog loves her space - so I will likely not be hosting your pup at my home. I have a reliable truck equipped with a back-seat hammock in case your pup needs a ride anywhere. As for me? I am a clean and responsible human who is careful to treat your home as I would want you to treat mine. If I am house sitting and caring for your dogs, we can also discuss tending to house plants, trash takeout, grocery runs, mail management, etc. All overnight stay requests must have a prior meet and greet on the books. **I am unable to stay in smoking households**.
Information David P. would like to know about your pet
What kind of treats does your dog like? Who is their vet? What sort of commands and leash cues are they used to? How are they around other dogs? When it comes to hip hop, are the West coast or East?
A typical day
Fetch? Rasslin? Chillin? You name it. Just want to go to the end of the block to sniff that one post for ten minutes, we can do that too. Does your animal need some conditioning for their training? Let me know what they're working on and I can add that to the mix. A typical stay for multi-day overnight/pet sits: * Up in the morning, do whatever needs doing for meals, walks, etc. * I'm usually out for the morning to walk and check in on other clients. * I stay the afternoon with your pets, usually until dinnertime. * I typically am out of the house in the early evenings, but I try to be back by 8 or 9 PM for the night. * I rarely ever leave animals alone for more than 4 hours.

Your dog is awesome.
Pet care experience
I live in East-West Asheville, among herd of dogs visiting the New Belgium Brewery. I keep a fairly open schedule and am usually available on short notice. Yes, my calendar is up to date and yes, I would love to stop by and meet your critters sometime today (or tomorrow, if that's better?). I keep my service radius down to 5 miles from my location so I can better serve my community. I currently have a 3-year-old Pit/ Staffy mix that we are training up to be the best dog possible. I previously owned a 20-30ish pound spaniel mix and a Shiba Inu. The needs of your pets are the top priority of my day, whatever they may be. I'm a pretty big guy who can be as much or little of a 'rassler as your dog needs, even if that means being a couch potato for a few hours at a time. I'm not much of a runner, but getting a mile or three of walking in is no problem if that's what your furbaby requires. I like cats. I'll match their energy and attention. I know what it's like to not want someone to pet me. While my wardrobe may be rife with animal hair, I am careful to not cross contaminate between visits. Hand sanitizer, shoes left at the door, soles wiped down and sanitized - gotta keep your pet healthy! Overnights, drop-ins, longer-stays. I am a writer by trade, so my work can follow me just about anywhere. No problem with administering medications and have completed the American Red Cross Cat & Dog first aid course. And yes, I can definitely send you a picture of your dog because of course you miss them.

Reviews

David was beyond excellent. Easy to communicate with. My dog ended up having major GI issues while I was away. David was quick to respond over text, he went out of his way to clean up my dog’s uncontrolled diarrhea, and much to my relief, David without complaint took my dog to the vet when I asked him to. I’m so grateful to him for all of that. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

Overall great experience. David was really easy to communicate with and took great care of our pup. Highly recommend.
David was great with my fur baby. He was responsive and mindful. Boogie really liked him and they had good times and walks together. David handled Boogie's meds and gave attention to Boogie's routine. Thanks so much David! I look forward to having you sit for us again!

Very communicative and took great care of our two dogs two cats and our home!
