I love dogs. I helped save close to 20 dogs with a fostering organization in Denver, having the dogs in my house anywhere from a week to a couple of month. I make sure that your pets feel like they are part of the family while in my care. I have 2 energetic labs, so are conscious of getting our guest pups daily activity to meet their needs, whether it's a walk at Owen park, or a frisbee session, or a short walk down the driveway. I usually try and go hiking several times a week and if that is something that you do with your dog, I'd be happy to take them!! I am comfortable with administering any needed medications, and I am super comfortable with senior dogs, as we have a 13 yo pup. I have owned dogs myself for over 13 years and can’t imagine a life with out our 4 legged companions!! Your dog will be in the best possible care while with me.

Home full time-serious dog loverasheville, NC

Ive had dogs all of my life. Growing up we had at least 5 dogs in the house at any given moment. My mother was a hospice nurse and could never say no when asked if our family could take care of their furry loved ones. Ive always been the type of person who will be down on my knees saying hello to the dog before their person. Currently, I am the proud doggie momma of Phoenix. She is a miniature schnauzer mix rescue. She is incredibly sweet, submissive and patient with new friends. I am a registered nurse who has recently gone back to UNCA to finish a degree in biology and ecology. Other than a few hours in the morning (m-th), I am home! Also, I am the only one in my home. I have a VERY large yard (pictured). It has a runner in both the front and the back as well. My fence is currently getting replaced. Honestly, we don't miss the fence much. I feel dogs are more suited to explore. I live equidistant from both Carrier Park and Richmond Hill Park (about 8 minutes to either). My dog and I frequent these every day. I am also a passholder to both the Biltmore and the Arboretum so we take full advantage of the trails there too. Your dog will not just be put out in a foreign backyard and forgotten about! If needed I am very comfortable giving medications and I am cpr certified. Most importantly, I am VERY patient with developing a relationship with new pups, an attribute often overlooked. It can be very scary and unsettling to be left with a stranger in a foreign environment. I can guarantee that your loved one will be treated with utmost love and care. Please feel free to ask me any questions at all! Phoenix and I look forward to meeting you both!

****I only allow dogs whom are on long term flea/tick prevention and up to date on vacinations in my home. If your dog has fleas when they arrive at my home, we will have to make other arrangements. If you are having trouble paying for these services, please let me know and I can connect you with resources that can help!***

Meeting your dogs needsAsheville, NC

My name is jharasen or jp for short. I have been working with dogs for about 13yrs ... in doggy daycare, pet sitting, rescues and at the shelter. I am looking to get my boarding and Board-and-train started so I can work with dogs at home full time. I am currently working at a vet office as a kennel tech Friday through Sunday but am available most days and time for pick up and drop off. I do crates boarding and out of crate boarding... it depends on the dog and your preference of what might better suit them while they are with me. I try to get the dogs out at least once a week for a hike for the ones that stay longer. I also have playmates for them with my own crew of pups. I like to give my honest report of how your dog does while with me so that if it doesn’t work on either end you can find the right fit for you pup next time the you leave town. Animals are my passion and to learn and Create a safe and fun environment is what I always aim for. I work hard to have the right environment for different dogs needs to the best of my abilities while they are with me. I am not a Certified trainer but I have been training dogs on my own for the past 11years and am Currently an intern with a trainer here in town learning new techniques of training ... having the knowledge and backing of the trainer I have been able to find creative ways to help with dogs who seemed stressed or needing more outlets when with me. I am super excited to start this journey in a more full time kind of way. I hope to hear from you and your pup soon ... p.s. I also do dog baths, nail trims, and simple grooms. Thank you

Former NYC dogwalker in Asheville!Asheville, NC

*Please note that I am currently offering dog boarding and daycare only. Both services are being offered at a discounted rate due to the coronavirus situation.*

Your pup will get loving, one-on-one attention from an experienced dog-care provider and lifelong dog-owner. Formerly a NYC dogwalker and dogsitter, I've been in Asheville since 2005. My extended family is also in Asheville.

I am available to care for dogs of any age or size. I have cared for puppies who were just being housetrained all the way to senior dogs. I have cared for dogs as small as Yorkies and dogs as large as Newfoundlands. I can care for your dog in your home or in our North Asheville home just one mile from downtown. Our home has a large fenced yard. If your pup stays with us, he/she will ideally be crate trained, but this is not a requirement.

In order to ensure individualized care, please note that I only host one dog at a time for boarding or day care. Exceptions can be made for dogs who live together or by special request. I am not able to host dogs that shed heavily, e.g. Great Pyrenees, Akitas, Huskies, Australian Shepherds, etc. for boarding or day care.

I have a 5-mile travel radius from my North Asheville home. An additional travel fee may apply for bookings outside of this radius and after 4pm. Please be sure to send your home address when making booking requests for walks and drop-in visits.

I truly love and care for dogsAlexander, NC

I treat my dog as if she is my own child. I have a love for animals, and I really do enjoy being around all different types of dogs. I take my dog everywhere I go, whether it’s hiking, or in bed with me for a nap. I believe dogs have souls and their feelings matter. I have a 4 year degree in psychology and have also taken animal behavior classes as well. I maybe spoil dogs a little too much! I love getting to know the personalities of dogs. I currently work with 3 other dogs year round for when their families go on vacation. I welcome all dog breeds at my house, regardless of size. As long as the animals are kid friendly that’s all that matters to me.

My dog and I love dogs :)Asheville, NC

I grew up with an instant love of animals, always having a family pet: dogs, cats and enjoyed horseback riding and pet sitting jobs as a teenager. Friends and family often call me a "dog whisperer. " Such a compliment makes me smile but really I, like most people who love animals and spend enough time caring for them am patient, kind and attentive to each animal and their needs. Working with Rover has been such a fun way to earn a little extra money and it's hard to believe sometimes that I get paid to hang with such cute furry friends. :) Animals truly bring me joy and I enjoy getting to know their unique personalities. After years of dog sitting for friends, I realized it was time to get a dog of my own! I've got a West Highland Terrier named Harvey. He's a super smart, stubborn dog that is well socialized and loves to play.

I am a professional classical singer and recently left my University job to fill my days with teaching, performing and hanging with pets. I am available to watch your pet(s) over night or take them on a walk!

I'm a professional dog cuddlerAsheville, NC

Hi! My name is Zoe. My family has owned dogs my whole life. I'm currently a second-year student at Guilford College and was born and raised in Asheville, NC. Currently, because of all the recent craziness, I am taking online classes and living with my boyfriend, who is also an active rover sitter, in a small cottage near Leicester. You may recognize my profile, because a couple of years ago when I was staying in Black Mountain over the summer, I was also an avid dog sitter. I miss my dog clients in Greensboro a lot, and I'm sad that I won't see them for a while, but I'm really excited to start meeting some new dogs and forming long-term bonds with them and their people throughout the summer. I'm here until the end of August, so you can count on me to be your frequent sitter. I'm young and able to take the risk of watching your dog if you are an essential worker; however I have been doing my best to abide by the sanitizing and social distancing rules. I will still offer meet and greets, but if you prefer not to talk face-to-face, I'm happy to talk to you on the phone or over video chat. If you are stuck at home and don't want to go out and walk your dog among the public, I'm your girl.

I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities. Every dog I meet is unique and I love getting to know dogs and learning about all of their needs and little quirks. I have been petsitting ever since I was around 12 or 13 years old and have lots of experience with housesitting, drop-ins, and walking. I feel pretty confident in my usual routine, but that does of course vary between clients and I would love to hear all of your needs so I can be the best sitter for your dog! I also worked part time last summer at Sunshine Dog House, a dog grooming place in Black Mountain, NC. I gained a lot of experience with helping calm all sorts of dogs down, giving them baths, and giving them plenty of love and snuggles. If requested, I would love to give your dog a nice bath for no extra charge as long as it's within the time frame I am caring for them. There is no dog that is too high maintenance for me to handle!

Aside from online classes, which have no set schedule (and are almost over!) I have a lot of flexibility and am generally available. I basically have non-stop free time these days, so I would be delighted to take care of your dog while you're away at your essential job, or if you just want your dog to get some extra special love, exercise, and snuggles. I always do my best to keep my calendar up to date with any changes. I am also always willing to accept last minute inquiries as long as they work with my schedule! I can make a promise to devote as much love and care to your dog(s) as I can. I make sure to put in my best effort for every pet I care for; I would love to be your frequent sitter and make a connection to your dog so it is a great experience for everyone, including the comfort of your dog and you.

Please contact me about drop-ins, walks, housesitting, doggy daycare, and dog boarding! Doggy daycare and dog boarding are new to me, but I am super excited to start offering this. I live in a small yet spacious house, with lots of outside areas in a gorgeous farmland neighborhood. I am always home so I can and will take your dog on so many walks, and give them so much love and playtime.
