“My golden retriever had a great stay with Sarita and Kento! I got pictures everyday and they were super responsive. My dog also requires daily medication that they were able to administer. They took her on walks and let her out to sunbathe (her favorite). Overall, it was a perfect experience. Would definitely book with them again.”

“Cathrin was wonderful! She took great care of Wylie and kept me updated throughout his stay. Despite his neediness, she made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It gave me so much peace of mind while I was away, and I would absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Thank you Sarita for taking good care of Mochi and Taco! She sent me daily pictures, and made sure to understand all their needs and habits to provide the best care possible. Would highly recommend!”

“Zora took amazing care of our dog Kona. She provided lots of pictures, videos and updates and we knew he was in good hands. He got along well with her dog, Zara, too. Would definitely rebook!”

“It was second time for my furry baby with Tracy! I fully recommend Tracy for pet sitting! I was receiving updates with videos about my dog daily. Thanks Tracy again for taking care of Tosia!”

“Elizabeth was wonderful! I was a first time Rover user, and nervous about leaving our pup with anyone but family. Our dog, who can be hesitant and skittish, warmed to Elizabeth right away on our first meeting. After seeing how at ease our pup was, my concerns evaporated. Elizabeth still sent pictures and/or videos every day. I have no hesitation about recommending Elizabeth to watch your pet.”

“Arfa was amazing!!! She was super accommodating with a last minute request and change when I had an unexpected work trip. She was super communicative the whole time and my dog Tux seemed so happy! She sent so many pictures and made me feel so much peace of mind after moving to a new place where I don’t know anyone. I’m going to book her for more services for sure!”

“Highly recommend Bart and Radha for your fur baby. They took excellent care of our dog and gave frequent updates with pictures and videos of what he is up to. Our dog returned home well rested and happy. They accommodate all your request sand make sure to give you dog a at home feel.”

“Marco sent daily pictures/updates and my dogs were very comfortable! They were loved and taken care of! They were professional and thorough with history, personalities, likes and dislikes, etc.”

“Leslie took excellent care of my anxious and lovable border/aussie mix Riley! I especially loved all the photos and text updates...they always brought a much needed smile to my busy travel schedule. Riley had a wonderful time hanging out with Junie Bee! So happy that Leslie treated him like her very own fur baby. Thanks for taking such great care of my boy!”

“Laura and his husband were great taking care of my Frodo for 11 days. We felt so good Frodo was in good hands and I could tell he was doing fine in every daily picture Laura sent and in every conversation we had. Frodo came home happy and he even said good bye to Layla (Laura's dog), they got along great, respected each other's space and I'm sure will miss each other after this stay. I'll definitely recommend to leave your pet with Laura if you want to have peace of mind knowing that your furry is doing great.”

“Ernesto and Deonna are so great in communication, they accommodate my changing travel plans in inclement weather, which was a big relief to my concerns. They took nice care of my doggie, she seemed very happy and made good friend with their dog. I would love to let Jennie stay with them again in the future!”

“Amrita was wonderful! I have a senior dog who wants to be around people always. Amrita made sure to always send updates regularly, be attentive to Gus and his needs, and was very responsive! Would definitely book her again in the future and was grateful knowing my dog was in good hands.”

“Julie is very responsive! While my pocket bully has always done well boarding, my little Mini Schnauzer did not do well boarding at a facility. She thrived with Julie 💕 Grateful to pick up TWO happy kiddos. Will book again.”

“Nelda took great care of our dog for the weekend! We had never left him before and we’re nervous before heading out on our trip. But she made sure to send us lots of pics, updates, and let us know how he was doing the entire time we were gone. I felt super comfortable and confident he would have so much fun with her!”

Kristina was absolute lifesaver for our family. We were in town and my poor pup had an emergency. We were unable to cancel our trip so Kristina cared for our dog while he had a wound and treated him so well. This was also all last minute. Could not thank her enough and wish she lived closer to us because we would 1000% book again with her

Karthik & Xiao provided the most amazing care for our playful girl, Emmy! They were very communicative and sent us lots of pics! We felt so good that our baby was in such good hands and will definitely be booking with their family again. 10/10 recommend Karthik and Xiao!

Becky was wonderful with my Remi! I received frequent updates and pictures/videos, and he was taken on daily walks. He came back a tired, happy boy but definitely missed his new best friend, the dog Wednesday. Can’t wait to board him again with Becky both for her human companionship and the dog bestie Wednesday!

We left our pup doodle with Yen. She was wonderful giving us updates on him and took care of him really well. We left him for a short duration once and he was super excited see her and her son again. Our pup is a picky eater and he needs his food in a certain way which Yen followed as instructed. She took him for a walk regularly and enjoyed her company for a week. Will definitely leave our pup with her again. Thank you Yen!

Booking with Kady is like having my sister watch my dogs! Elevates so much stress because I know they’re so happy and taken care of. They love Kady and her dogs so much, last time I dropped them off they didn’t even care to say bye to me, just ran up to Kady and asked to play outside. Only person I trust to watch my girls!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
