Josh was fantastic. He was incredibly organized, attentive to our needs, and offered thoughtful recommendations that helped us build a plan perfectly suited for my pups. I’m genuinely excited to get started. It’s a lot to take on, but I left our consultation feeling confident and supported

Just had our first consult with Nick. He’s super knowledgeable and even works for Austin Pets Alive so has experience working with all sorts of dogs. He left me with 3 takeaways that were manageable and digestible until we meet with him again. Gave us all sorts of advice across a variety of topics and reassured us that we are doing the right things and are well equipped to train our dog. Looking forward to future trainings with him

I highly recommend Megan & Tim for anyone looking for a knowledgeable and patient dog trainer. They worked with my dog, Bella, who was struggling with leash pulling, jumping, and stay in place. From the start they were professional , easy to communicate with, and clearly experienced. They took the time to understand my dog's behavior and explained the training techniques in a way that was easy to follow. I would absolutely recommend Megan & Tim for anyone looking for effective and compassionate dog training.

Huge thank you to Igor for helping Chico become the dog he is today. I found Chico abandoned on the streets, and once I brought him home it was obvious he needed patience and someone who actually understood dogs. Igor was the guy for the job. He took the time to figure out where Chico came from and how he's wired, and then showed me how to communicate with him in a way that worked. Watching Chico get more confident and settled has been one of the best parts of the last year, and I can't thank Igor enough for helping make that possible.

Jeff was wonderful to work with! He was patient, kind, and really took the time to understand Louie and give us practical advice that we can use at home. Louie is a little nervous around new people, and Jeff was very respectful of his comfort level and never pushed him beyond what he was ready for. I also really appreciate that Jeff has continued to send helpful training videos after our session. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about helping people and their dogs succeed, and I really appreciated all of the guidance and encouragement. We had a great experience with Jeff, and I would absolutely work with him again in the future. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate trainer!

Anthony's been a great dog trainer. From our first interaction over the phone he was patient and kind with all my thoughts, concerns and analysis. In person training was great, he's fun and I love how he layers the techniques so the dog ( and human) really absorb the info. He was always happy to give a little extra ( times, ideas, kindness). He even helped us analyze the interaction between our dog and his to help us understand our pups confudence issues when interacting with other dogs Anthony knows what he's doing and seems to really enjoy it too!

About: I feel like most of my training is teaching people to be more intune with their pups rather than demanding full submission everytime with an iron fist. Training takes time, consistency and patience.

We were so impressed with Rebecca. Our dog, Neville, started being really reactive when he turned 10 months, walking him had become a challenge when we came across other dogs. Rebecca came to our house and asked a lot of questions, then helped us understand what was going on in his doggie brain. She helped us formulate a plan and taught us relaxation techniques (for us and him!) and what to do when we see another dog, or as Rebecca calls it “sticky situations.” It is so easy to walk with him again and amazing to see how far he’s come. We cannot recommend Rebecca with My Dog Can enough!

Amber is a true dog professional. She spent a lot of time with me, my husband, and our dog to work on some issues that have been very stressful for us over the past few months. Amber clearly has a way with dogs as she was able to calm down our angsty boy and get him in the right headspace to follow instructions. We learned so much in a consultation and a single session with her. Her home is also very well laid out for doggie stays. I was very impressed with her setup and the plethora of stimulating tools she had for her dog training and dog stays. Looking forward to more training sessions with Amber.

Darren is a true dog lover! Watching him be a great sitter/trainer/walker to my own dog has instilled such trust in him. He is always the first person I call. He treats every dog as if it were his own. Darren is also exceptional at caring for senior pups as well as he adopted a senior dog himself a few years ago, and cares for my senior bulldog. You will not regret choosing Darren!

Gretchen is a certified dog trainer who genuinely loves what she does. I’ve seen her interact with dogs of all temperaments. She reads them quickly and responds with patience and confidence. Her own dog is honestly one of the best-behaved, most lovable dogs I’ve ever met, and everyone that has met her dog has said the same thing. Any pet she trains, watches, or walks is in experienced, loving hands.

About: Communicating on the same page as your dog is only the beginning. I've spent years studying canine neurobiology, behavior, nutrition and welfare to learn best how to communicate, train and develop a relationship with our canine companions...But I didn't stop there. It makes no difference if I can speak the language of your dog if can't teach you, so I spent 3yrs at Petsmart training people to train their dogs. I've decoded the Labyrinth. I can teach you. And you can have the relationship with your dog you dreamed about before you rescued that pup. Give me a call.

James, Aka Bradley, has been very attentive and caring about training my three dogs. He has been educating me on how to properly use commands and techniques while we are at off-leash areas. There were a lot of trial and errors but my dogs are able to get it and they catch on quickly! He has been communicating and checking in on how things are coming along. I appreciate that a lot. He does deeply care about dogs and giving them the proper confidence boost while being put to work. I would definitely recommend his expertise for dog training sessions.

Dog Training FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Trainers listing on Rover must be credentialed dog trainers, commit to reward-based training methods, and pass a background check to offer dog training in Round Rock.

Reward-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes; treats, play, or toys. Reward-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.

When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.

Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.

Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!

If you’re searching for a dog trainer in Round Rock for the first time, visit the trainer’s profile and select the Contact button.

If you have an active request or have booked a service with a trainer before, learn more about how to do this in the Rover app or on your computer.

Rover makes it easy to find Round Rock dog trainers to provide loving care from their own home. The background-checked, 5-star trainers you can find on Rover will work with you and your dog to build new skills and address behaviors. Dog trainers can work on:

  • Puppy training, adult dog training, agility training, clicker training and advanced training.
  • Behaviors such as barking, leash manners, leash reactivity, house manners, jumping, fearful behavior, anxious behavior, separation distress, recall, biting, chewing, mouthiness, potty training and resource guarding.

Of course! Having a trainer that is the right fit for both you and your pup is an important step to reaching your training goals. We recommend reaching out to any trainer that interests you. Your initial request is not final until both you and the trainer decide you want to move forward with booking.

Also, trainers may offer or require consultations. Make sure to ask trainers so you can make the best decision for you and your pet.

Many trainers on Rover indicate experience in a wide range of behaviors, from puppy training to more advanced behaviors and training types.

Review a trainer’s profile to see if their experience aligns with your needs, and if you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact them to ensure they’re the right trainer for you and your pet.

We get it—sometimes plans change and you may need to cancel your dog training service. You can cancel an upcoming booking directly from the Rover app or your computer, in accordance with your trainer’s cancellation policy.

Note: If your dog trainer requested to cancel this booking, then they need to cancel from their account. Please contact them via Rover Messages.
