“I cannot say enough great things about Shevell! Her and her family took such amazing care of my Jack Russell while I was away, and I could tell from the moment we met that they truly love animals. They were super communicative, sending daily updates and photos that gave me total peace of mind. My dog came home happy, healthy, and clearly well-loved. It’s such a relief to know I have someone trustworthy and kind to rely on when I need a sitter. Highly recommend and will definitely be booking again!”

“As always… we loved having Zhian watch Bo and all the pictures and communication, made our time away from him so smooth because we can tell Bo was always so happy and enjoying and feels right at home. Thank you so much for all the love and care. Bo misses you already and is looking forward to next time!”

“Our dog was so happy with Cassandra and Jason! They sent us plenty of update pictures and make sure he had so much fun while we were out of town. We’ll definitely use them again!”

“Our mini Schnauzer Millie stayed with Lilia for a week and was amazingly well taken care of! We loved getting daily photo updates to see what she'd been doing (mainly just laying in the sun and getting snuggles just like at home). We even had travel plans change mid-trip that extended our time away and Lilia accommodated us with no problem. We HIGHLY recommend her to keep your fur baby and we'll definitely be taking Millie to see her again. Thanks Lilia!”
“Absolutely amazing Rover experience. Ivon is fantastic, you can feel her love and care for your pet. I’d trust her with Maggie any time, no questions. Maggie was sick to start her stay and Ivon provided regular communication and amazing care that left me with no doubt Maggie was in safe, secure hands.”

“Andrew did a wonderful job sitting our two dogs. One of our dogs is elderly and needs regular diaper changing while our other dog took some time getting used to being away from us. Andrew provided frequent updates, photos, and videos. My elderly dog needed emergency medical care and Andrew didn’t hesitate in taking the dog to the vet where he received prompt treatment and recovered quickly. It’s easy to see that Andrew really loves dogs and enjoys looking after them. He has a calm, kind demeanor and was able to constructively handle a few difficult situations caused by my dogs. I would certainly have Andrew sit my dogs again. I trust Andrew and he treated our dogs as if they were his own.”

“Leo and I absolutely love Janie! She’s an amazing babysitter and cares so much for Leo and I’m so blessed and grateful for the love and care she gives Leo. We love and appreciate you 🫶🏾”

“She kept me posted with texts and pictures of my dog. He had never been boarded before so I was concerned about leaving him. Everything was good. I would use Megan again for she proved to be a great sitter.”

“If awesome was a person it would be misti the way she cared for my dog over the weekend was amazing and she has to pup herself now my dog is having separation anxiety from Sadie. I will definitely be back”

“Yujie was an amazing dog sitter! He took Osito in at the last minute…literally the night before I needed someone and I couldn’t be more grateful. From the moment I dropped Osito off, he was incredibly attentive and thoughtful. He sent me regular pictures and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I don’t trust just anyone with Osito, but Yujie made me feel completely comfortable from start to finish. He genuinely cared about making sure Osito was happy, safe, and well looked after. On top of that, I ended up asking if I could pick Osito up early, completely last minute and with almost no notice, and Yujie was so accommodating. That level of flexibility meant a lot. The biggest sign of how well Osito was cared for was when I picked him up. Normally he’s a little nervous after staying somewhere new, but this time he came back happy, relaxed, and completely himself. It was obvious he had been treated with kindness and care. I would absolutely trust Yujie with Osito again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and trustworthy dog sitter!”

“Leslie was an amazing sitter for our dog. She was kind, energetic, caring and loving towards Elysian. She gave us regular updates while we were away and kept us in the loop on everything. We will definitely be keeping Leslie in mind for our next Rover sitting needs :)”

“Valeriia was the sweetest and most patient with my dog that has a hard time with new people. She was so attentive towards him and always respecting his pace towards meeting new people. She was very responsive and always keeping me updated on my dog’s day while I was out of town.”

“Ashley is the best! This is our second time leaving our little fur baby with Ashley. She took care of Hope like her own. She responded promptly and accomodated our requests for Hope with such kindness. My husband and I were at ease leaving her behind with someone who is caring and loving. Hope hanging with Carter is always a plus! Thanks Ashley!”

“I’m so grateful to have found Aimee. She brought such love, warmth, care, and safety to my beloved Birdie girl. From the moment I dropped Birdie off I knew she was in excellent hands. Thank you, Aimee!”

“Highly recommend Mariana to watch your pups! She gave great updates and send pictures and videos multiple times a day. Our two pups came back happy and even bathed! Thanks for taking great care of them!”

“Jessica and Wilson take extra care with our “special needs dog” who is scared of kids, strollers, loud noises etc. They send updates regularly. This is our second time using them and Izzy was so excited to see them and their sweet dog. Highly recommend!”

“Amber gives lots of updates and pictures of our girl while she has her. Blue seems to be right at home when she’s in Ambers care. That gives me the peace of mind that my pup is in great hands!”

Yuvisela was amazing with Luna! She was incredibly responsible and kept me updated, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Her home felt warm and welcoming, more like a real home than a boarding place. Luna had the best time and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!

Every dog parent get anxious leaving their pets to be taken care of with someone new. However, I felt such at ease with Emilee she took care of my dog for a whole week and she kept me updated every single day with my dog Lola! I am so beyond grateful for the attentive detail she provided for my dog. My dog didn’t want to leave her house after I picked her up. Your pet is in great hands with Emiliee and the help with her boyfriend as well. Lola will return for future sitting. I highly recommend Emilee! Thank you for everything!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
