“Sarah was fantastic! She was so sweet with our three girls at the meet & greet, and they were in great spirits when we came home. Our American Bulldog, Boxer mix, and elderly kitty cat all loved her! She kept us updated while we were away and left our house clean and secure. So thankful for her comprehensive care over the holiday.”
“Stephanie is just amazing! My dog has severe separation anxiety, and she has taken care of him just beautifully-as if I had been there myself. She is hyper-responsible, super respectful of my space, and punctual to the minute! I can’t recommend her highly enough. I’m so glad I tried Rover-bc now I have found my “go to” dog sitter!”

“Dorian was terrific. From the moment we met him we felt confident that our kitty and our home would be well taken care of. He did not disappoint. We would gladly have him stay anytime we are away.”

“Michelle is fantastic. First and foremost, she is a genuinely good person who has an affinity for animals. Coordinating with Michelle was easy and she was extremely flexible. It was my first time leaving one of my boys who is extremely attached to me. That was not without its hiccups, but Michelle kept me posted and took great care of my boys.”

“Angelica was amazing. She took care of our home and pups as if they were her own. Will for sure book with her again. We got lots of updates and pictures of the fur babies.”

“Our dog is fearful of meeting new people and Brandi's calm energy was great for him (and my anxiety about trying a new sitter lol!). She dealt with feeding him turkey through his muzzle and all the other details of a first meeting we wanted to cover. 10 stars on communication and reliability. She did wonderfully with Georgie on our 'trial run' before our longer trip and I'm so happy to have found someone we can trust our anxious fur baby with while we're away.”

“Valda did a great job with our 1.5yr old German shepherd! She was very responsive and sent update pictures as well. Also, she brought her dog champagne to visit, which helped our dog feel even more comfortable with her!! The house was nice and tidy when we got back too!”

“Trevor was a wonderful and professional sitter for our two pups. He stayed in our home and spoiled our dogs with attention and care. We got regular updates and pictures and came home to an extremely clean house. I highly recommend Trevor and plan to use him again for future stays! Thanks, Trevor, for everything!!”

“Samara is an amazing dog whisperer. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does and maintains constant communication throughout. I highly recommend anyone looking for a dog sitter, home sitter. Much appreciated Samara!”

“Christine was wonderful! This was our first time booking her services, and I would highly recommend her. From our first meet and greet, it was clear she had a lot of experience caring for animals. She was easy to talk to, had good communication during our time away, and went out of her way to care for our dog, Jovi (who can be a bit of a handful and hard to walk sometimes!). She even went out of her way to take him to his favorite park/trail one of the evenings. The coolest thing was finding out she had cared for Jovi when he was a puppy before we adopted him (we’ve had him since he was 1 year old). His previous owner had also contacted Christine for dog sitting, and she was able to look back through her pictures and find young puppy photos of our Jovi! It was totally meant to be! 😆 I highly recommend Christine for all of your animal care needs!”

“Matt did the preview to ensure we had a good match and was on time and ready for my two dogs. Everything went smoothly and the dogs were happy to let me know it was a good sit!”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 15 years old providing quality care for family members and friends. Looking forward to caring for your fur baby too! I'm currently available most days except Thursday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings. I have a very flexible schedule and able to assist as needed. However you need me to care for your animal I will oblige. I do not do anything more than what you tell me to, and if need be I am more than happy to do some light housekeeping.
“Nancy was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of puppy while we were away and gave us complete peace of mind. She kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay, and it was clear that Onyx was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. She went above and beyond, and we truly appreciated all the love and attention she gave him. I would absolutely book with Nancy again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter. Thank you so much, Nancy!”

“Brittany was absolutely incredible! She looked after our pups and our home perfectly while we were away. Her communication was stellar, we loved getting the daily picture updates, which gave us total peace of mind. We returned home to very happy, relaxed dogs and a perfectly clean house. Brittany is reliable, trustworthy, and a true professional. We will absolutely be booking her again!”

Kim did an excellent job caring for our three large, rambunctious dogs, which includes a puppy and a senior dog. She was attentive and knowledgeable and we felt very reassured they were in good hands. She was communicative and sent plenty of pictures so we know they were being cared for. Additionally, she also took great care of our house and everything was in order when we returned from a long trip. She was flexible and understanding when our flight was delayed by an emergency, which was a huge relief. We highly recommend her as a sitter and will definitely be using her again.

Ashley did a great job while I was away for the weekend. She did a great job communicating and sending pictures. I always have anxiety leaving my dogs when I go on trips and because of her service, she put my nerves at ease and I was able to enjoy my vacation.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Manor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Manor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Manor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Manor. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
