“Deevie is quite truly the best sitter I’ve ever had! She is SO communicative, sends the cutest photos and videos and left my house spotless. I am incredibly grateful for her and the immaculate care she showed my cats and house. I absolutely recommend her and will look forward to having her sit again in the future! ❤️”

“Tori is the absolute best! We have no worries at all when she is taking care of the dogs. She takes them out regularly, plays with them, and treats them like her own. We love her!”

“Molly was phenomenal with Tucker. She sent such great pictures and updates and seems like she took great care of him. She left the house clean and was responsive and clear in her communication. I’d highly recommend Molly to anyone and looking forward to her caring for Tucker again in the future.”

“Chantell was great with my dogs. She went above and beyond to make sure they were happy, healthy and safe. I would recommend her to anyone who needs a great dog sitter and I will be reaching out to her again. Thank you Chantell”

“Our dogs were in good hands while we were away! We had to find someone short notice after our other pet sitter had to cancel and we appreciate Geoffrey accommodating his schedule to take care of our two pups. We received multiple updates throughout the day and were worry free on our vacation because of it! Our dogs are very needy and require a lot of attention and supervision, Geoffrey made them feel comfortable. He also took good care of our house. Highly recommend him and will be using his services again in the future.”
“Delaney is amazing! She is so personable and cared for our house and Dog like she was part of our family. She is mature, aware, and I would trust her with our beautiful pup at any time. Cannot wait to book her again and glad to have her part of our circle. Thank you, Delaney.”

“Arturo was super communicative and enthusiastic to give our two cats the best care! He took notes beforehand of little details to remember for them and communicated throughout the sitting - we did not have to worry about our cats in his care. Arturo dealt with one of our cats medical issues very well (including giving liquid medicine 3x a day) and learned their individual quirks and played with them how they liked - Would definitely recommend hiring Arturo!”

About: Responsibility, patience, and affection. It's about ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of animals. My dogs and I are happy to care for them. D The same routine as my dogs, going out for a walk in the morning, arriving home to eat, rest, give them treats, and in the afternoon another outing to the park I take care of them as if they were my own with the same love, care and affection that I have for my dogs. C

About: Hi! I’m Xarissa Alexsondra (legal name Corissa)—please call me Alexsondra. I specialize in cats and also welcome calm, low-energy dogs who only need short potty walks, plus small pets like snakes or fish. I’m available for long-term stays of three weeks or longer only (shorter gigs aren’t a fit). As a person on the autistic spectrum, I feel most at ease with cats and quiet, predictable pets. I’m naturally attuned to body language and individual quirks, and I stay calm and consistent with the routines many cats and introverted dogs prefer. I may seem a bit reserved with new people at first—please be patient. Your pets will get my full, focused attention. I grew up with multiple dogs and cats and have experience with fish, snakes, lizards, hermit crabs, chickens, quail, and ducks. I’m comfortable with cage cleaning, daily feline and canine routines, and the small details that keep animals comfortable. You’ll receive detailed updates and photos so you’ll always know how your pets are doing. I’m reliable, observant, and happiest in the company of cats, calm dogs, and the occasional snake. I’m a homebody with a part-time job that takes me out of the house for 5–8 hours on just one or two days a week. The rest of the week I’m home all day with the cats, or I may step out for a short excursion and then return for the remainder of the day. This rhythm lets me provide calm, consistent care and stick to the quiet routines most cats prefer. I only accept long-term stays of three weeks or longer. I understand the trust it takes to leave your home and pets with someone else, and I take that responsibility seriously. You’ll receive detailed photo updates so you always know how everyone is doing. I care for cats in the client’s home only (I do not board pets in my own space). One of the strengths of being autistic is that I follow clear, straightforward instructions with high precision and consistency. Tell me exactly how you want feeding, litter, medication, play, and any other routines handled, and I will stick to them closely. I’m naturally attuned to feline body language and stay calm and steady, which many cats prefer. I’m reliable, respectful of your home, and focused on keeping your cats comfortable and secure.
“Averie, did an amazing job watching my two dogs and my home. I came back to happy pups and a perfectly clean house. Highly recommend her services for anyone looking for someone reliable and detail oriented”

“Oh goodness Annabelle was terrific!! She kept us updated on Chai several times a day. She left the house in better condition than when she got here. She is officially our go-to house sitter!”

“Our strong willed energetic 5 month old puppy, Yoshi, loved Katie immediately. We left her in Katie’s care for a week and didn’t have to worry about either one of them at all. It was apparent they enjoyed each other, and Yoshi got as much love and care from Katie as she would have with us at home. After we got home, Yoshi was still right by Katie, wagging her tail and eating up the attention. Thank you, Katie, for all you did to entertain and care for our pup! We’ve found a wonderful sitter for Yoshi and will refer Katie to others!”

About: I've cared for dogs since age 18, including three senior pups. Friends and family trust me with pet care, and I love helping dogs. I work Monday thru Friday but I work from home on Monday and Tuesday. I have a one hour lunch Wednesday thru Friday. So I have time to play with pups. I no longer have any dogs of my own, as they have all crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I have a large, unfenced yard with plenty of room to explore. Pups can enjoy free roam of the house or be comfortably crated if needed, depending on their routine and your preferences.
“Briana did a great job taking care of our dog pack. We know it’s not easy with having a multiple dog household with different personalities and she was very patient with them, especially while everyone was also getting used to a new human in their space. Any time there was a question she would raise it with us to see how we preferred to proceed (ex: one of our girls has digestive issues and isn’t very good at keeping an eating schedule). We really appreciate her care and patience and arrived home to happy and loved girls.”

“Kat is incredible. From our meet and great I could tell Kat was going to be gr8. She’s detail oriented, took notes & it was immediately apparent she is a true animal lover. Ruger may want us to go on vacation again. Multiple daily updates to put our minds at ease allowed us to fully emerge Ourselves in our vacation with full knowledge that our big baby boy was well taken care of! She also took great care of our house and went above and beyond in every category. We will definitely request her services again!”

“Had a same day request and Kenna was there in a pinch! Total lifesaver... She was excellent with my dog and super super polite. 10 out of 10 will totally book with again!”

“Carmen was fantastic. We had asked for her help on such quick notice and she even had time to come to a quick meet and greet with us at the house. She sent tons of photos and updates. We will definitely work with Carmen again. Poppy and Mally loved it.”

Victoria saved us. We had a last minute trip to Dallas and asked her only a few days out, and she accepted right away. She stayed at our house with Lily, sent tons of photos, and communicated the whole time. Lily was clearly happy and comfortable with her. We've already booked her for our next vacation. Best sitter we've had.

Ryan was incredibly communicative and so playful/attentive with our pets. He sent lots of updates and provided videos and pictures throughout the day. He was really flexible with us as we had some last minute changes and we really appreciated it. Definitely recommend!!

Woody was such a great sitter for our two old men pugs and all of their senior needs, including medications and needing help to get up for potty! They were so well cared for, and our home was as well. I highly recommend Woody for pet sitting, and will absolutely book again.

Melissa was one of the best house and pet sitters we've ever had! We met Melissa ahead of the sit to introduce her to Luna and our home, and we immediately felt she was a great fit. She took excellent care of our home and Luna. We came back home to such a happy dog and a spotless house. Our home was exactly as we left it and we could tell Luna was well taken care for with plenty of love. Melissa has a heart of gold and we would highly recommend her. She communicates great, provides updates, and follows care instructions. She's truly one of the best and brings such peace of mind while away. We look forward to having her sit for us again soon!

Maggie stayed with my 2 dogs at my house for a week while I traveled to Tokyo for a business trip. I have a hard time leaving them and I honestly didnt worry the entire trip and I was able to focus on work because I had full trust in her! She would send daily recaps at the end of every day with photos and videos, and I can tell my dogs love her. She left the house super clean when I returned and left some homemade treats for the dogs. <3 I could tell they miss her because they were waiting by the door all day! Thank you Maggie for taking amazing care of my children!!

I really enjoyed having Brittany as a house sitter. She had a wonderful rapport with my dog, and did a great job following instructions and providing feedback. We were in regular communication the entire time I was out of town. I would definitely rebook with Brittany the next time I go on vacation!

Delanie was absolutely fantastic! She kept us updated throughout our entire trip with frequent messages and lots of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. She also let us know right away when our senior dog wasn’t feeling like herself and kept us informed on how she was doing. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our dogs and treated them like her own. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pups, and we couldn’t be more grateful. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and communicative dog sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our babies!

Alexa was absolutely amazing with my dog, Harley! She stepped in to help me at the last minute when I needed a sitter for my vacation, and I couldn’t be more grateful. From the very beginning, Alexa was incredibly communicative and sent me regular updates and lots of pictures of Harley, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that she genuinely cared about Harley and treated her like one of her own. When I came home, Harley was happy, relaxed, and clearly had been well loved and cared for. Knowing she was in such great hands made it so much easier to enjoy my trip. I would absolutely book with Alexa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, dependable, and caring pet sitter. Thank you so much, Alexa, for stepping in on such short notice and taking such wonderful care of Harley!

Kaitlan was absolutely amazing! She sent us photos and checked in every single day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We had never used a dog sitter before, and she made it such a wonderful first experience. She also left our house absolutely spotless, which we appreciated so much. We truly couldn’t thank her enough for taking such great care of our home and our pups. Highly recommend!

Chantell was amazing. Our two boys love her. She consistently updated us on how things were at home and with Oak and WInnie, as well as took amazing photos and videos on a multi-times a day basis. We always looked forward to seeing how they were and got lots of pictures of them playing and cuddling and relaxing. Chantell communicated thoroughly about her schedule so we never worried about a thing and our house was left in spotless condition. We know they received the best possible care and I cannot recommend Chantell highly enough.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Windemere on Rover is $48.15 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 4,476 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Windemere. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windemere walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windemere maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windemere choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Windemere. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
