Availability
My wife and I work professionally as a photographer and videographer, which means I can make my own schedule most of the time. With enough notice, it's rarely a problem for me to be available. I have plenty of days off, so being a Rover fits perfectly into my schedule. Often my wife will accompany me when possible.

Before caring for a pet in-home, I like to meet the little fur-burgers, understand their needs, and get any special instructions. At the end of caring for them, I will leave the place as I found it, cleaning whatever necessary so that you can just come home and hug your pets. I'm happy to follow any instructions for their schedule, diet, play routine, etc. I'm also able to give medicines gently, as well as sub-cutaneous injections if needed.
Information Ryan L. would like to know about your pet
Ahead of time, I like to know their general schedule, special behaviors or temperaments to be aware of, any needed medications or dietary restrictions, and any other special instructions.
A typical day
I love to provide a variety of fun, stimulating activities for dogs and cats. Aside from general games like fetch, I like to play with them at their level while always using a gentle approach. In the neighborhood, I let dogs go on walks at their own pace, stopping to sniff the doggy message board pee spots when they like. I’m happy to take them to dog parks, especially the 2 we have in Wells Branch, as well as walk them around neighborhood paths.

Pet care experience
When I was young my parents began rescuing, rehabilitating, and homing stray dogs, many of whom lived alongside our family pets for various periods of time. Our family became the one that people would call when a stray dog was spotted near our neighborhood. We became friends with several of the shelters around north Houston. Over the years our family has taken in and loved probably about 100 or so dogs, as well as about 12 cats. We've birthed and taken care of many litters of puppies, getting them healthy, then finding great homes for them. All this is to say I've learned the ins and outs of dog care, and a great deal about cat care. (I don't have experience with birthing cats, but have cared for many.) I've yet to meet any dogs that I haven't gotten along with. I believe there's no such thing as a "bad" dog, only those that have not been well cared for. When I first meet a new dog, after the sniff test I befriend them through VERY gentle pets and positive reinforcement, aiming to build trust from the first moment. I encourage happy and social behavior, and I love nothing more than getting down and playing with them at their level. I may not be able to immediately command a dog like Cesar Milan, but I can earn most any dog's trust, be their friend, and show them great care and love. At home my wife, son and I currently have 3 dogs- a 50lb Pitbull, 75lb Lab mix, and a 12lb Chihuahua. And they are each very loved and basically spoiled, as you can see from my photos. :)

Ryan was very communicative and attentive to the dogs. We will definitely ask him to watch our dogs again in the future.
