“Anthony was very attentive with my dog. I can tell he really enjoys our furry angels. Came home to a clean house and the guest room bed sheets washed and remade. Easy to work with. Responded quickly to all questions and requests. Will definitely have him sit with my best boy again soon.”

“Kylie is so sweet. My cats responded differently to me when I came home, so I know they had a good time with her. She communicated on my door cam when she was leaving. Would definitely recommend.”

“Rachel did an incredible job house-sitting for an entire week for my crew. Needless to say, I was a nervous cat/dog mom as this was my first time traveling with all 3 (2 cattle dogs and a crazy kitten) at home. Rachel not only did a super helpful meet and greet to walk through all details prior to my trip, but she did an excellent job following my endless instructions to the T. Rachel handled many unexpected problems wonderfully (e.g. an unexpected thunderstorm and my nervous dog, or my crazy kitten bringing lizards into the house). She also made sure to communicate daily with lots of updates and photos! I was SO nervous leaving my crew behind, as I felt it would be "too much" but Rachel handled it perfectly, and did it with a smile on her face! Super grateful for her help and willingness to dive in for an entire week-long house stay! Thanks Rachel! 100% I will be using her again :)”

“Geoff was great! He stayed at our house over a long weekend with our border collie, Wednesday, and we felt so comfortable and confident knowing she was in good care. We got regular updates with photos, and Wednesday got multiple walks and engagement throughout her time with him. He was super flexible and respectful. We'll definitely book with him again!”

“I've never left my 4.5 yr old Basset with anyone other than family... so I was like a new mom on her first night out without her baby when I left Mr Potter to attend a special event with my whole family. Enter Jeré to my circle and to the rescue! She came for a Meet & Greet to meet her and for Mr Potter to get her scent to remember her later. She was just the right person! Sweet, encouraging & reassuring. I hired her for the event night... 7 hours. She sent me photos & "Pupdates" as helped me relax and feel confident so I could enjoy the event. I will use her services AGAIN for certain! Thanks, Jeré, for helping me cut those apron strings.”

“I’d rather gatekeep Tobias, but he’s just too incredible- I couldn’t be happier with his service. I’ve had some really bad experiences with Rover, but Toby assuaged all my fears. Responsive, played with my dog (not just walk), followed all my niche instructions, and left the house cleaner than how I left it. Will 100% book again.”

“Kristy was amazing! She housesat for us and took care of our three fur babies. She was communicative, kind, and made sure to update us with any changes the pups had during our absent. We would absolutely book with her again!”

“Bernice was the perfect dog sitter! Our foster is extremely fearful of strangers so I was very anxious to leave him on a trip, but he warmed up to her so quickly! She spent lots of quality time with the boys and sent frequent updates with photos and videos.”

“She is Awesome… Kaitlan kept our 4 babies for 9 days. She sent updates and pictures each day. We have one guy who is a little cranky and they were best friends after a few day’s. She took them for walks. The house was just like we left it (a nice surprise). She is now my number one and only dog sitter. Thank you Kaitlin for loving our babies like we do. You are awesome!!!”

“Anne communicated often and clearly with us while we were away which gave us peace of mind. She also was patient with Gordon and gained his confidence. We plan on using Anne in the future.”

“Lauren is absolutely amazing. I would recommend her to anyone. One of my dogs has separation anxiety and fear of people. Lauren was patient with him and won him over. Not to mention there is 2 other dogs and a cat to watch! She did great really put my mind at ease while I was away.”

“Bria was absolutely wonderful with our pets, Jax and Meeka! She took Jax on plenty of walks and always made sure he got the exercise and attention he needed. We loved receiving regular photo updates—both Jax and Meeka always looked happy, healthy, and well cared for, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It was clear they were in great hands. We would absolutely trust Bria again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

“Nathan took great care of our dog Louie, cat Sushi and our home. Nathan was very communicative and provide status throughout his stay. Our home on our return showed he took well care of it. Would definitely recommend Nathan to others.”

“Shameray always does a wonderful job house sitting for us. She is so good with our dogs and cat and they can definitely be a handful. She is very tidy and also very responsive to any messages and sends lots of pics which is great. Thank you for another job well done, Shameray!”

About: What sets me apart is deep, hands-on experience with trust-building and confidence work across all life stages. I’ve hand-raised a litter of seven newborn kittens, animals with disabilities, and been a dad to many rescues. Most recently, I was a dad to a rescue pitbull for over 12 years, a relationship that required patience, structure, and calm leadership. Together we learned how to overcome his history of abuse and worked to feel safe around people and in the world. Through that experience, I developed strong skills in reading body language, respecting boundaries, reinforcing positive behaviors, and creating predictable routines that help dogs feel secure. I do not use or condone aversive techniques; I rely exclusively on positive, reward-based handling, and if a dog arrives with aversive equipment, (such as a choke or prong collar), I will replace it with a safer alternative while they are in my care. I’m especially comfortable supporting anxious, sensitive, senior, and high-energy dogs, including strong or behaviorally reactive breeds, and I prioritize safety, trust, and emotional well-being. Pet care has alway been part of my daily life. Meal times, walk times, nap times, play times… I’m familiar and flexible with meeting the routine needs of our fur babies. Every animal is unique, so I rely heavily on responsible owners to communicate the type and level of care that suits their fur baby best. I live in an apartment, and I understand the space needs for larger animals. I accommodate this by being active outside. The apartment dog park, the local pond, and neighboring trails are my go-tos for regular leg-stretching.

I can’t recommend Kristy highly enough as a dog sitter. She took wonderful care of our dogs, Cody and Joanie, while we were away, and it was clear from the moment we got home how much care and attention she put in. She was incredibly proactive with communication, sending morning and evening updates without ever being asked. She also went above and beyond around the house; cleaning up and taking out the bins on her own, and leaving everything in even better shape than when she arrived. She was especially great with our nervous rescue, handling her with patience and gentleness that really put us at ease. If you’re looking for a dog sitter who treats your pets like family, Kristy is it. Highly recommended!

Kasyn was absolutely amazing. One of our cats is kind of shy but he warmed up to her quickly. Our cats are restricted to wet food only for dietary reasons so they have to be fed multiple times a day. Their dishes were always clean (better than I usually keep them 😀). She took excellent care of them and the house and went above and beyond by taking out the trash and washing the bedding before she left. We got tons of updates and pictures and our cats were so much happier and content when we got back from this vacation. We will definitely be having her house/cat sit in the future.

Adrian did an excellent job taking care of our dogs over the Fourth of July weekend. He was respectful of our home, followed all of our care instructions, and made multiple visits each day to let them out and walk them at appropriate times. We came home to happy, well-cared-for dogs and really appreciated the care and reliability he provided. We would definitely recommend Adrian and would happily book him again!

Brandy continues to be a blessing to our family and our doggos! She is amazing with our dogs and treats them as her own in our absence. This is our 3rd? 4th? booking with her. I've lost count, we would never dream of trusting anyone else with our dogs -OR- our home.

We are so grateful for Rasika! She was WONDERFUL with Marley, spending so much quality time and really making her her priority, which gave us all the comfort and peace while we were away. She was also so willing to do what she could to accommodate us when we had an unexpected family event that resulted in us needing her a few days sooner. Couldn’t ask for more! ♥️

Alice is a wonderful dog sitter, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We really appreciated that she took the time to come by a few days before our vacation to meet our dog, Louie, and get comfortable with both him and our home ahead of time. That extra effort immediately gave us peace of mind. Alice has a caring and positive attitude in general and toward Louie. It was clear that she genuinely loves animals. We felt completely safe and comfortable having her stay in our home overnight for several days and trusted her fully with the responsibility of caring for our dog while we were away. We came home to a happy pup and a house that was in great shape. We will definitely use Alice again in the future to watch Louie the next time we leave town. We absolutely recommend Alice to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy dog sitter!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Anderson Mill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Anderson Mill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Anderson Mill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
