âJoel was awesome. His communication and updates were great. Dionysus loved the time with him and Joel took great care of D and the house. I cannot thank him enough for coming through for me given the short notice stay.â

âThis was the first time we have had someone house sit with our dog. Our senior pup has become more anxious when left for longer periods of time. When he was younger, he had no problem with our neighbors just dropping by occ to fed and let out. We started taking to vet for longer boards (3+days) but he was so anxious after we picked him up, that he would not let us out of his sight. Soo, we decided to try someone staying with him. Rebecca did Great! She was gentle with him and his needs, kept the house clean, followed our directions and tried to accomplish requests as we were away. Quick communication back when we texted. Our pup was calm and did not appear stressed when we got home. He kept looking for Rebecca, though. Missed her. :-)â
âKelsie was great with our big pup! She gave regular updates including photos throughout the weekend. She was really easy to communicate with leading up to and throughout the time she stayed at our home. Would definitely recommend her!â

âNathan did an amazing job taking care of our dog! He went above and beyond in every way and was incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay. Itâs clear he really understands dog behavior; he knew exactly how to read our anxious dogâs needs and adjust accordingly, which gave us so much peace of mind. On top of that, heâs genuinely a super nice person! Weâd highly recommend Nathan to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to watch their pets!â

âWe LOVE Madchen to death!!! She is amazing to have sit with our two fur kids. Not only quite personable, sheâs very responsive, communicative, responsible, and chill. Our dogs love her and are very at ease with her. We highly recommend Madchen if you are looking for that level of quality care for your pets as well.â

âMarina was fantastic with our crew of five cats! She was incredibly communicative throughout the sit, sending regular updates with photos that put our minds at ease every day. She gave all the kitties their regular outside cube time and even kept our fish thriving. What really stood out was how she won over our most particular cat, which is not an easy feat and speaks to her patience and genuine care. Weâd trust Marina with our cats (and fish!) again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!â

âMirra did a fantastic job with our two dogs, Hobbes and Link. She sent us daily photo updates, and played with our boys a ton to keep them active and tired. She also offered to clean up the house a bit and changed our bed sheets before leaving. We would book with her again!â

âAnne was great with our pup Alex and our 2 cats! Very attentive and considerate. Updated us with photos through out our vacation/honeymoon. Left us a card and thoughtful gift congratulating us on our wedding which was very nice to return to. Would highly recommend her house sitting and watching our pup again!â

âTessa was wonderful during her stay of four nights with our little morkie Coco they bonded she took her for walks everyday and played with her. She also has dog training experience and worked on some training with her as well. We felt that she communicated with us throughout our trip and sent us pictures and videos to relax our minds that Coco was in good hands! We would recommend Tessa to anyone and will definitely be calling on her for future trips!â

âKayla has watched our two dogs and cats a few times now and we already have her booked again for the summer!! Highly recommend her. She communicates well and loves on our babies.â

âErrin took wonderful care of our pets and our home. She was conscientious in following instructions and in communicating frequently. She communicated one concern about our dog's well-being that worked out just fine. She showed both the dog and the cat affection and took care of all their needs. Our dog enjoyed her walks with her each morning. I also appreciated the pictures Errin sent each time she visited. I will certainly call on her to sit again.â

âKylie was absolutely amazing with my dogs, and I canât recommend her enough. From the very beginning, her communication was clear, timely, and reassuring, which made me feel completely at ease while I was away. She surely made sure my dogs were happy and well cared for. Itâs obvious that Kylie genuinely loves what she does. She was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive to my dogsâ needs, and they warmed up to her right away. My dogs were relaxed, happy, and clearly comfortable in her care - which says everything. If youâre looking for someone reliable, communicative, and truly great with dogs, Kylie is the one. I would absolutely trust her again without hesitation!â

âKristina is the sweetest person to care for your precious babies when you are going out of town. Awesome communication and the most adorable pictures of our baby. Our girl loves attention and spending time with people. She also likes her alone time but the need for pets usually wins. Kristina was wonderful enough to provide all the pets our little girl wanted. We will definitely rebook with Kristina in future events if she is available.â

âAngela was wonderful with our two dogs. We received regular photo and video updates. It was lovely to be able to take a trip away and know our dogs and home were in great hands.â

Mandy watched our two dogs while we were on vacation. She communicated so well and provided picture and video updates daily. We are very careful who we leave our pups with and feel totally comfortable leaving them with Mandy. We highly recommend her if anyone is looking for Rover help.
Rylee was an absolutely wonderful caretaker for our puppy while we were away. From the start, communication was clear, timely, and reassuring, which made us feel completely at ease. She provided daily photos and updates that gave us so much peace of mind while we were gone! She took such great care of everything and treated our puppy like her own, which meant the world to us. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog and everything exactly as it should be. You can tell Rylee genuinely cares about what she does and consistently goes the extra mile without hesitation. Weâre so grateful for the peace of mind she gave us and would happily trust her again in the future. Highly recommend.

Kelsie was fantastic. She helped dog sit for us while we were out of town and my dog was still recovering post surgery. She followed all instructions without question (even some of our silly requests) and provided lots of updates and pictures to help us feel better. My dog isnât much of a âcuddlerâ until heâs comfortable and kelsie was getting cuddles day 1, so he gives her a 5 star rating too lol instantly made him comfortable. We would recommend her to anyone looking and will hopefully be able to use her in the future as well.

Treka was a superb pet-sitter and house-sitter! She took great care of my dog, Bindi (who loves her!) as well as my house. Great communication throughout the entire booking. It was peace of mind knowing that Bindi was so well looked after while I was away - which is an absolute luxury. 5-Stars!!! I will definitely be booking with Treka again!

Alexis was wonderful with Archie! She took great care of him and kept me updated with photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. The house was clean and picked up when I got home, and everything was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend her and would gladly have her help again.

Mirra took care of our cat while we were out of the country. I had great communication with her. She sent us every day photos of our furrball and little videos as well. When we arrived home our house was just as clean as we left it. We are very please with her service and will hire her again for sure. Thank you Mirra!

Brianna was great. She was very professional and reassured me that Dunkin would be well cared for. She was respectful of our home and she sent me many photos and detailed notes that kept me feeling at ease. I will definitely be booking her again for future services.

If I could give Madchen a rating higher than a 5 I most definately would. She was terrific. I booked her for a week, to stay in my home to take care of my 2 French Bulldogs. She came out and met me, my dogs and saw where she'd be staying. A week before our trip she checked in to see that we were still planning for her to stay and the day we had to leave she was not only on time, but a little early. She stayed in touch with us while we were away and sent us pictures of the dogs which helped us to relax when we saw they had taken to her quite fondly. She was respectful of my home and I couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter. I would definately ask her to care for my dogs again and I would highly recommend that others use her too. On top of it all, she's just an all around nice person.

FAQs for House Sitting - Leander
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Leander on Rover is $49.66 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 4,523 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Leander. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Leander walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Leander maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Leander choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Leander. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
