“Jere kept our home and pets safe and secure. I was concerned at the beginning of the trip as Jere let us know when we were leaving for vacation that she may not be able to stay overnight at first due to her chronically ill child needing her to be home. This created some anxiety for us, but Jere was able to take care of her child and perform rover duties in the end. I’m sympathetic to the need, so I kept her rating high and just told her moving forward, I’d like a plan for child care and continued communication. I think Jere still did a great job in the end and would recommend.”
“Taylor was great! She sent us regular updates on our girls and took great care of them! They were happy doggies and we felt so relieved knowing they were well cared for and seeing daily pictures!”

“Anne was great with our pup Alex and our 2 cats! Very attentive and considerate. Updated us with photos through out our vacation/honeymoon. Left us a card and thoughtful gift congratulating us on our wedding which was very nice to return to. Would highly recommend her house sitting and watching our pup again!”

“Kailiany was awesome. Regular updates, our 3 fur kids were happy and healthy when we returned, and she even put the trash out by the road for us. HIGHLY recommend and will definitely book again in the future. Thank you Kylie and Rover!”

About: I've been around animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up on a farm, I was surrounded by all kinds of animals, so caring for them became second nature. My favorites have always been dogs and cats. We always seemed to have a new litter of kittens around, and I naturally became the one who spent the most time with them. Whether it was feeding them, playing with them, or helping them grow into confident, loving cats, I loved every minute of it. That lifelong experience has taught me that every pet has their own personality and needs. I provide patient, dependable care and treat every pet like they're part of my own family. Whether your pet is an energetic puppy, a playful kitten, or a senior who needs a little extra attention, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. I do work full time; however, I have set days off. The hours I work are spread throughout the day, but with enough notice, I can plan accordingly. I am flexible. When your pet is in my care, I treat them like one of my own. Their safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, and active time. Whether that's going for walks, playing with their favorite toys, or simply spending quality time together. I'm attentive to all of their daily needs, including feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, exercise, and any special routines you have in place. I know pets feel most comfortable with consistency, so I'll do everything I can to help them feel safe and secure, especially in the place they know best. Their home. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pet is receiving the same care, affection, and respect that I would give my own.
“Once again, we could not be more pleased with Heather and Ryan! We always know our dogs are in the best of hands when we have to go out of town and they went to the extra mile as our Chloe is getting old and requires just a little bit more attention and cleaning up after. Thank you for being there for us and our pups. You are the best!”

“Caitlin was amazing! She took great care of our dogs and house! She was the right level of communicative and sent us great pictures of the dogs. She also went above and beyond with grooming help for one dog that had a stomach issue. Would definitely book with her again!”

“Kayla and Genesis are such amazing sitters. Our boy Finn loves playing with Genesis and Kayla is an attentive, caring, and detail oriented sitter. We needed to unexpectedly extend their stay due to a family emergency and it they accommodated without an issue. I can’t recommend them enough!”

“I will definitely be getting Sariena to look after my fur babies again. She fed them, cared for them, and loved them like her own. She had even taken my dog for a hike and spoiled her. ?I could not have asked for someone better to watch after my animals and my home! Incredibly grateful for the peace of mind she gave me going above and beyond!”

About: I am a very attentive person who will make sure to read any notes daily that you leave. I am great a training dogs and I will follow the training procedures for your loved one. I have a very flexible schedule that allows me the ability to do routine walks. I would love to be the go to sitter for your dog! I live with one other adult (male) and a 1 year old miniature Border Collie. The Border Collie is well trained and plays well with other dogs.

She provided picture updates everyday, cleaned up after my dude when he got sick, and ensured he got his daily exercise by taking him to the park every morning. Will definitely be requesting her services in the future.”

“Errin took wonderful care of our pets and our home. She was conscientious in following instructions and in communicating frequently. She communicated one concern about our dog's well-being that worked out just fine. She showed both the dog and the cat affection and took care of all their needs. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Georgetown
Debbie was absolutely amazing with our animals! She sent us pictures and updates every day, which I truly appreciated. I loved being able to see Lola and Charlie while we were away and know they were happy and well cared for. ❤️ You can tell Debbie genuinely cares for both your pets and your home as if they were her own. She even washed her bedding and picked up after the dogs—things we never even asked her to do! We were so impressed with how thoughtful and attentive she was. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Debbie. Going on vacation will be so much easier now knowing our pets and our home are in such wonderful hands. Thank you, Debbie, for taking such amazing care of Lola, Charlie, and our home! We appreciate you so much! 🐾❤️

Alexia was very responsive from my first inquiry about housesitting and caring for our furbabies. She spent quality time at the meet and greet with our animals and asked lots of questions to understand their needs and care for our home. Her daily photos were AMAZING and our whole family looked forward to seeing them each day we were on vacation. 😁 Our pets were very well cared for, plants healthy, bedding laundry done and house very clean when we returned. Very grateful!!

Robert was amazing!! What a wonderful blessing he was for our Matilda, who is 14 and needs meds and lots of love, as well as taking care of our home while we were gone for over 2 weeks. Such a load off of our shoulders to have him here!! We will definitely be calling him in the future!

We had a wonderful experience with Darla! Communication was excellent from start to finish, and she was always timely and reliable. We really appreciated the regular updates and photos of our dogs while we were away as it gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were happy and well cared for. It was clear our pups were getting lots of attention and love. We came home to happy dogs and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend Darla to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!
Addison did an amazing job house sitting our 4 Yorkies! Our dogs were very happy and excited upon our return which tells us they were extremely well cared for. She updated us on their progress, sent pics and she took great care of them and our household. We have a rather shy male and and Addi got him to quickly warm up to her and allowing him to cuddle in bed to ease his separation from us! Addi was gracious enough to meet with us prior to booking thru Rover to ensure a good mutual fit and was prompt for our appointment times. We would highly recommend Addi and will be sure to use here again in the future!

Ren was reliable and took great care of my pup, as well as the house. It's no wonder the team has great reviews and so many repeat bookings. I'm grateful...she got my kiddo through a severe storm, too, and Roo is afraid of storms. I had no worries. She was responsive, yet didn't overly communicate as I've had with other sitters.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Georgetown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Georgetown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Georgetown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
