“Shevell and her family were great. The entire family was involved with taking care of our pups! Her husband and three boys were great and Shevell was amazing! We had daily pics and the pups were happy. Thank you so much!”

“Bekah is a very responsive and amazing caregiver. I can say with absolute reservation, that Bekah took care of my puppy as one of her own. I would definitely recommend Bekah if anyone is looking for someone to take care of their dogs!”

“Was recommended Julie by my dog's previous owner and knew she was a good call when he excitedly ran up to her door like she was an old friend. He had a wonderful time and she had no problem helping him with some medicine he needed applied as well. Jack and I were both very happy with her!”

“Very satisfied. Erin and her family took care of our dog without a hitch. After a week we received back a noticeably clean, healthy, happy, well-fed dog. It was clear from her vibe and energy that she really enjoyed her stay and the company she was with. She was surrounded with love and attention. When we picked her up Erin's kids came out to greet me and were excited to share their stories/adventures with our dog and participate in the goodbye ceremony. It's really hard to fake great kids. We'll definitely use her again.”

“We were very happy with the dog boarding experience for our Phebe at Laura Beth and Kevin’s house! They are a great team that offered the affection and exercise that we were looking for. As a bonus, their doggie is supper friendly and sweet! We appreciated the pictures and commentary too! If need be, we would definitely have them care for our precious Phebe again! Thank you two!!”

“I am truly impressed with these guys and the care they provided right after surgery to our Corgi. Our sitter has moved out of the area and we had to find someone quickly since our vacation was approaching. Het and Manu are a true team! We met before we agreed on any services…they met with our pet and got along off the bat. They frequently sent me updates and reported on how our dog Zoe was doing. They included videos of their walks which made us feel more relaxed knowing Zoe is well taken care of. I highly recommend their team and look forward using them in the near future.”

“Chiao was by far one of the best -if not the best-sitters we’ve ever had for our dog , Saburi. She was so kind, courteous, and wonderfully communicative. Chiao sent frequent updates throughout the day along with adorable photos. I never once felt anxious about how Saburi was doing away from home . Her dogs are incredibly well mannered and got along beautifully with mine. I truly can’t express enough how amazing Chiao is! If you have the opportunity to have Chiao watch your pet, *don’t* hesitate, go with her!Chiao was by far one of the best -if not the best-sitters we’ve ever had for our dog , Saburi. “Nadia was a wonderful sitter for Zoey. She sent me pictures and updates to let me know how well Zoey was doing during our week long vacation. Zoey and her dog, Pickle got along great. I would definitely use her again!”

“This was my first experience using Rover, I was a bit nervous about leaving my baby with a stranger. Rodnie quickly put those concerns to rest. My pup was treated as part of the family. He was well loved and cared for. I will definitely book with Rodnie in the future. She is communicative, kind, and most of all, a dog lover. Do not hesitate to book with her!”

“Star responded immediately to my request for a dog sitter, on short notice. She had a nice big room for Willow and nearby dog park. Willow is an older dog on meds twice a day, she handled this with no problem. She sent me photos every day of Willow doing dog stuff, it helped set my mind at ease. I would definitely recommend her.”

“Jeff & Jirapun were amazing sitters! They were incredibly attentive to our dogs’ needs and took such great care of them during their stay. We really appreciated all the photos and updates they sent, it was so reassuring to see how happy our pups were. They even took them on a little adventure to HEB, which we loved! Overall, they were fantastic sitters, and we could clearly tell our dogs were happy and well taken care of. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and reliable sitters. 😊”

“Katherine took great care of my pup Denali while I was away for the weekend! She provided pictures/updates of Denali playing with her dogs in the backyard and being himself in the house. Would definitely recommend Katherine!”

“Great dog sitters that sent photos often and gave updates on my pup. I am so glad I was able to have them take care of Bentley during my travel. I would recommend them to anyone!”

“Briona was fantastic she graciously accepted a last minute booking and was very accommodating when I needed to pick up Jasper later than planned. She took great care of him.”

“We searched a long time to find the right sitter for our adolescent dog and Elizabeth checked all the boxes and then some. We usually only have family watch our dogs but after meeting Elizabeth, we could see how much she loves and cares for animals. What surprised us most was one year later, we need her again but with both our dogs, including our shy senior dog, and when we parked our adolescent dog immediately knew he was at her house and was jumping for joy! Our shy dog took a little bit to warm up, but when we came to pick them up a few days later, he went right back to say goodbye to her for a final cuddle! He’s never even done that with my parents who he adores. I’m so thankful for Elizabeth, her attention to detail to make a comfy place for dogs in her house, and how much love she clearly shows to them. I have such anxiety leaving my dogs anywhere and knowing they are with her really helps lower that anxiety.”

“Brittny is an amazing sitter! She’s super interactive, sends plenty of photos, and keeps me updated throughout my pup’s stay, so I always know how he’s doing. This is my third time booking with her, and my pit bull absolutely adores her. He always has a great time and I know he’s in excellent hands. Brittny is especially wonderful with bully breeds!”

“Karthik & Xiao provided the most amazing care for our playful girl, Emmy! They were very communicative and sent us lots of pics! We felt so good that our baby was in such good hands and will definitely be booking with their family again. 10/10 recommend Karthik and Xiao!”

“Jessica took great care of Coco and kept us well informed throughout the stay. She was attentive, patient, and clearly very thoughtful about his needs. Coco was happy and well cared for — we would definitely book with her again!”

Erin was wonderful with our dog. He loved his stay with her and her kids were soo good with him and gave him all the cuddles in the world. There were lovely photos everyday and fantastic communication throughout the stay. Really recommend and definitely will book Erin again for our future trips.

Julie is amazing, and we’ll most definitely use her again to care for Theo! From our first messages with Julie through picking Theo up, she was so accommodating, caring, and easy to work with. Theo had the best stay filled with walks, cuddles, and even a bonfire. We can’t recommend Julie more!

Katelyn and her daughter took excellent care of my dog while I was away. My dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for when I picked her up. She even smelled great, which was such a nice touch. I really appreciated the attention and care they gave her, and I would absolutely trust them again in the future.

Maddie and Mike were absolutely amazing! Maddie was great on communication sending us lots of updates, photos, and videos. Our dogs had the best time. They definitely got lots of love and attention. We will 100% be booking with Maddie again. I can’t recommend her more!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
