“Marissa was excellent. She really spent the time to calmly have Ziggy get to know her. Before long, they were like best of friends. Marissa was diligent, punctual and great clear communication. I will definitely trust my dog with her again in the future.”

“Lindzi took great care of my dog when she walked him, played with him, and gave him a treat. He was happy and calm when I returned home. I would ask her to take care of him again without hesitation.”

About: All God's Creatures Great and Small....gotta love them all . I have experience caring for sheep , chickens and exotics. 10 years experience working with Research Pet and Bird Hospital skills include... some surgeries, post operative care, feeding, walking, front desk, administration of meds, vaccines , 10 years experience working with Animal Rescue in Austin , skills include intensive care of sick and wounded animals, intensive research in best feeding and handling procedures including mandatory classes , bottlefeeding wild baby animals, and release, and 20 plus years experience loving and spoiling my own pets. I've raised squirrels from newborn to adult, several wild and exotic birds ,cared for dogs and cats, hamsters. Love ferrets!! I'm also a retired school teacher 17 years. I am a positive reward oriented caretaker. Loving and caring for animals has been my life's joy. I always consider the needs of the specific pet and the wishes of the owner. I love to spend time cuddling, feeding, playing , walking , grooming , and pampering my own pet and will do the same for yours. I am currently self employed so I have plenty of time to care for your pets needs. I offer drop in and walking services and I am very flexible. I will also house sit and I prefer 3- 4 day stays. When I’m house sitting I try to stay as close to the owners schedule as possible. I like to have an info sheet on when and what your pup eats, what time they go out for a walk or to play, whether they sleep on your bed or in a special bed for them, favorite toys or games they play with you. I try to fill their day with activities….munching Nyla bones, playing in a baby pool, PB Kong treats, playing ball outside, going on walks, watching Beverly Hills Chihuahua, rubdowns and grooming. The same activities apply to drop in visits . When I’m walking them , they have a leash or harness on , I’m weary of other dogs or animals in the neighborhood, I reinforce your special commands while walking, bring a water bottle for them, and bring treats . I am always watchful for any situation that would possibly be harmful.

She’s always punctual, communicates clearly, and sends the sweetest updates and pictures after each walk. I can tell my dog adores her and looks forward to their time together. It gives me such peace of mind knowing my pup is in such kind and capable hands. I truly couldn’t ask for a better dog walker—thank you, Sharon!”

About: I was raised with 6 dogs and 5 cats. I have been house and pet sitting for many years. I am very good with animals! I am a college student home for the summer and am currently only taking online classes so my hours and schedule is very flexible to what you need I have a fenced front and back yard with a pool! I have four dogs and a cat at home that live in the main house. Animals brought here will stay in a separate part of the property with me.
About: With over five years of hands on experience in dog training, boarding, and walking, caring for animals isn’t just something I do for work, it’s something I genuinely love. For the past two years, I’ve supervised a busy boarding and grooming facility, managing daycare groups, giving medications, handling emergency situation when they arose, and making sure every dog and cat received the individual attention they deserve. I’m currently in school to become a vet tech, which helps me better understand animal health, behavior, and safety and gives pet parents extra peace of mind. Whether your pet needs structure/routine, medication support, or just plenty of playtime and affection, I’ll treat them like they’re my own, safe, happy, and well cared for every step of the way! Pet care fits really well into my schedule right now. I’ve recently moved to Austin and I’m finishing up vet tech school, which gives me a lot of flexibility throughout the week. My classes allow me to plan my days around walks, drop ins, daycare, or boarding needs, and I’m used to balancing school with hands on animal care. I will mostly be doing all my services from your home (client) When caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick to the routine and rules already in place. I make sure the pets get their usual meals, walks, and playtime, and I follow any instructions for medication, feeding, or behavior. I also do a quick check of the house each visit, making sure doors are secure, water is fresh, and litter boxes are clean. I can always be reached and will be happy to send updates or photos as needed. Overall, my goal is to make sure your pet(s) feel safe and relaxed in their own environment while their owner is away!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, lizards you name it. I’m very good with instructions, and follow them thoroughly. I will make sure your pet is happy :) I’m currently working part-time. I am also a college student, but my classes are online currently. I will have plenty of time to check on any pets, walk them, play with them. I am very patient and gentle with animals, and have a huge soft spot for them. Whatever I am instructed to do, I will make sure it will be done effectively
“Followed instructions smoothly, no issues. She left a detailed report of her care with my girls and it was helpful. Highly recommend her to friends and family in the area.”

About: I have been a part of guide dogs for the blind for two years. I raised my puppy Crochet and she has been recalled to campus for formal training. I have experience in fostering young puppies for months at a time. I have also dog sat for my neighbors dogs in high school. I am currently getting my EMT certification, so I am available on the days which I do not have a clinical. Mostly Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and some weekends. When I am available I am home full time as the rest of my course is online, so I will have amble amount of time to spend with your pet! I am currently building a pool in my backyard, so for your pets safety I won’t have access to a full backyard until early July. I can offer multiple walks a day and appropriate inside play. I have two very friendly dogs that will be able to keep your pets company while at my house. If you would prefer I go to your home to sit, I can offer as much or as little time as you want for me to be with your pet, as my courses are online.
About: I’ve grown up around animals and have cared for pets my entire life-starting with my own three dogs, all of whom I’ve personally helped train. One of them is now 14 years old, and caring for him as he’s aged has given me valuable experience with senior dog needs. I’ve also volunteered at my local animal shelter for several years, where I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. That experience has helped me learn how to build trust quickly and handle a wide range of behaviors with confidence, patience, and compassion. Whether it’s playful puppies or slow-moving seniors, I treat every pet like they’re part of the family. I’m currently available full-time, with a super flexible schedule that can easily work around your pet’s needs. Whether it’s morning walks, mid-day check-ins, or overnight bathroom trips, I can adapt to whatever fits your routine best. I truly enjoy spending my days with animals, and pet care is something I make a priority-not just a side job. When caring for pets in their own home, I focus on keeping everything consistent with their usual routine—meals, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you leave. I want your pet to feel safe, relaxed, and loved while you’re away, and I work hard to make sure they stay happy and stress-free in their familiar space.

I was very nervous going on vacation and we have a Goldendoodle puppy full of energy. I had 2 cancellations prior to reaching out to Darla, so my request was kind of last minute for her. She quickly confirmed and we were all set. Xero adored her! He looked forward to his daily walks and we loved the pictures of him walking. Thank you Darla - we appreciated you!!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
