“Eryn was absolutely amazing with Shelby! From the moment Shelby arrived, Ranger welcomed her as if she were part of the family and in her own home. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was in such a loving and caring environment. Eryn was kind, attentive, patient, and truly went above and beyond to make sure Shelby was comfortable and happy. She kept me updated and treated Shelby with so much love and care throughout her stay. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and I would absolutely trust Eryn with Shelby again in the future. Highly recommend! Thank you, Eryn, for taking such wonderful care of Shelby. It means so much to know she was loved and cared for while I was away. ❤️”

“Jayden was absolutely incredible with with my dog! I needed someone at the very last minute, and Jayden stepped up with only an hour's notice without hesitation. Throughout the stay, I received regular photo updates, which gave me total peace of mind seeing him so happy and well cared for. If you’re looking for someone reliable, communicative, and great with pets, I cannot recommend Jayden enough. 5 stars”

“I’ve booked with Rohan and Matou multiple times in the past and each time Mason came back happy. He absolutely loves visiting them, running around their yard, and meeting new friends. Rohan is also great with providing daily picture and video updates so I felt close to Mason even while I was away. Thanks so much, Rohan!”

“Elizabeth did an amazing job with my dog! Pierre made her home his 2nd home! The photos she sent were testament. The language was not a problem. Pierre will definitely return! Many thank yous Elizabeth!”

“We are so lucky to have found Jéssica on Rover. It was the first time we'd ever left our Ducky overnight with non-family. Jéssica and her family were so loving and took amazing care of Ducky and she sent us updates every morning and night with photos of how happy he was. I can't recommend her enough!”

“For the first time, our medium size Goldendoodle stayed a week with Melissa & family. Melissa kept us updated with many photos & texts which we appreciated! Our pup seemed to enjoy his time with them. She was easy to reach, took good care of our pup, provided playtime & walks. He seemed to be in excellent care—Thanks Melissa!”

“Bethany was so great with my boxer! We were nervous to leave them with someone they’ve never met before, but Bethany took amazing care of our baby and sent us pictures and updates to put us at ease. Highly recommend and would use her again!”

“Miho is so good with Bailey. He clearly likes her, and he's not fast to trust and like people. She is very communicative and trustworthy. She is good at building a relationship with Bailey and meeting his needs beyond the basics of food and water.”

“Nathan took excellent care of our dog. He sent (amazing) pictures and updates frequently, which we really appreciate. Will definitely board our dog with him again!”

“Brittny was AMAZING and provided all the best check-ins to ease my mind while out of town for the weekend! She was also very flexible with us as our flight got pushed back on our returning date so we had to adjust the pickup time from morning to evening. I really enjoyed having her watch my pup and definitely feel comfortable booking with her again in the future!”

“We had a great experience with Tony, highly recommend him for boarding! His communication and updates on our pet were great. It was our corgis first time interacting with other dogs and he did a good job easing her into it and letting us know how she did. Now she’s trying figure out why her new friends didn’t come home with us.”

“I felt very comfortable leaving our 2 dogs with Tristan for the weekend. They took to her immediately at our meet and greet and upon drop off they couldn’t get in the door fast enough. I received daily updates along with pictures. Upon leaving, her daughters made sure to come tell my dogs good bye and even kiss them on the head. That was very reassuring for me that they were well loved during their stay.”

“Andrew did a wonderful job sitting our two dogs. One of our dogs is elderly and needs regular diaper changing while our other dog took some time getting used to being away from us. Andrew provided frequent updates, photos, and videos. My elderly dog needed emergency medical care and Andrew didn’t hesitate in taking the dog to the vet where he received prompt treatment and recovered quickly. It’s easy to see that Andrew really loves dogs and enjoys looking after them. He has a calm, kind demeanor and was able to constructively handle a few difficult situations caused by my dogs. I would certainly have Andrew sit my dogs again. I trust Andrew and he treated our dogs as if they were his own.”

“Trey was great with our anxious boy, Mac! We knew with thunderstorms in the area, Mac would not be settled easily. Trey went above and beyond to help Mac relax — even moving into the laundry room with our dog to block out the sights and sounds of the storm. Would definitely use Trey again (if he’ll take our anxious guy back)!”

“My Mei was well taken care of Joel and his wife took very good care communicated every single day sent photos the show progress that they were making with my baby and I was very satisfied with her. She was very well behaved when she came home and I would definitely rebook with them again. it was like she was being taken care of by family.”

“Our four month old german shepherd mix had a wonderful stay especially for his first time. We were worried at first because we didn't know how he would do with other people and dogs, but Katherine was very understanding and was a true professional. She sent us daily pictures and videos which eased our minds while we were away for the weekend. Definitely recommend!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
