“Laura helped me out in a pinch. She accepted my last minute request to keep my dog for thanksgiving. She made sure he took his medicine every day and on time. She kept me updated and made my dog feel right at home!”

About: I have cared for animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, and turtles. I’ve had 5 dogs and 6 cats throughout my life and currently have 3 additional cats to the 6. Growing up around so many different animals has taught me how to recognize their individual personalities, needs, routines, and comfort levels. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, cleaning, companionship, and providing plenty of love and attention. I truly enjoy being around animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. As a stay-at-home mom and Army Reservist, I have a flexible daily and weekly schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to pet care. I’m home most of the day, so I can provide frequent attention, bathroom breaks, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I’m able to work pet care into my routine without rushing, and I enjoy having animals around throughout the day. My schedule also allows me to be flexible with different pets’ routines and their owners’ needs. I care for every pet based on their individual routine, personality, and needs. In a client’s home, I would follow their instructions carefully, keep their normal feeding and bathroom schedule, provide exercise and playtime, and make sure they receive plenty of attention and affection. I would also keep their space clean and comfortable and communicate with their owner about how they’re doing. My goal is to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away.

“Darren and his wife were such an answer to our prayers. We boarded our dog with them over the Christmas holidays and we were so relieved knowing our dog was in their care. Our dog had not done well interacting with dogs in the past, but by the end of her stay, she was playing with their own dog like they were lifelong friends. They also sent us text updates, photos and videos while we were away to show us their progress and made us feel like we had nothing to worry about. We would highly recommend them to anyone in need of help taking care of their dogs.”
“Dominique was great with our pup, this was her first time away at a sitter and she did great. Dominique sent daily photos and videos, she stuck to our pups strict diet needs. We thank you so much for taking such great care of our girl.”

“There isn’t enough words to express how happy I am with Taiesha and how well she took care of Nyla. She updated me daily and sent pictures and videos. Nyla has never been around other dogs and she took her time and patience with Nyla to make her comfortable. Nyla had a few accidents and and I was so sorry for that however, Taiesha assured me it was ok and Nyla loved being with her. I am very grateful. I will use her again. Great job.”

“I needed a sitter for my two pups asap. Ayanna responded immediately and was able to help. This was a significant relief and the boys loved her. She knows how to handle dogs extremely well. Definitely will use her again.”

“this family is super awesome. I felt relaxed and was able to ensure my vacation for five days while Polo spend time with boys, including buddy! I will be using you again. Polo has met friends.”

“Our little girl loved her stay with Rowen! We recommend her place for anyone that wants a safe and loving place for their dog to enjoy the outdoors. We were sad to drop her off, but were given lots of pictures and updates and knew she was having a great time, so our hearts were put at ease.”

About: I’ve grown up caring for all sorts of pets, I don’t remember a time in my life when there wasn’t a cat or a dog. I love meeting and caring for all animals and I foster when I can. I would love to care for your fur baby. I currently have an open schedule, my every day is mostly caring and spending time with my pets. I’m very much so a homebody. I only go out about twice a month for a night. I have a fenced in yard for potty time and the whole home is offered for space to explore, get comfortable and play. I also have 2 dogs that love to play and cuddle so you for baby will never be bored or cold. I almost constantly have eyes on my pets and will always be making sure your pet is comfy and cared for. I do have a cat, so other cats that I watch will have their own litter box and their own eating area for optimal comfort.

“We had an excellent experience with Maria while our Bernese Mountain Dog stayed with her for nearly two weeks. She did a wonderful job managing his changing energy levels—keeping him active when he was playful while also giving him plenty of time to relax when he needed it. One of the things we appreciated most was the daily updates. She consistently sent pictures and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind and let us see how happy and well cared for he was throughout his stay. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our dog and treated him like one of her own. We came home to a happy, healthy pup, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and caring dog sitter.”

“Marche cared for my 1yr old pitbull for 9 days and i’m so glad i chose her! I was so nervous about leaving him because it would have been his first time leaving me but she was so attentive with sending pictures, & FT calls. Bentley enjoyed himself and was a happy boy when i picked him up!”

“She was an excellent sitter for our boy. Nikole and her husband took the time to even walk him in their neighborhood. I would recommend anyone looking for a sitter to send their fur baby to Nikole. Thanks again!”

About: I’ve taken care of my own dogs since I was 17. Before i always had a dog growing up. When I moved in with my husband he had two dogs, a rabbit and a chinchilla. I used to help take care of them. I’ve always loved animals but I especially love dogs. I’m a stay at home mom so I’m always available for caring for your pets! I would preferably not want to watch cats because my own dog doesn’t particularly get along with cats. I have a fenced in backyard. Depending on your dog’s schedule they are freely allowed to be inside or outside at any time. I leave food and water bowls outside for my dog as well as a water bowl inside.

“Thanks Destiny for watching pickles, she stepped up last minute for me, when no one else responded, and she responded quickly. She took great care of pickles and kept me informed with pictures and texts! I will definitely use her again!”

About: I've had little dogs for the past 19 years and they have always been taken cared of with love. I treat my doggies like my kids and I will make sure every dog that comes in my home will feel the same love. I am a stay at home mom so your dogs will be watched and taken care of the whole day. I go on walks in the morning so your dogs won't be stuck in the house all day. I have a fenced yard with a pool in the backyard. If you don't trust the pool I can walk your dogs outside with a leash. I have two dogs who are a little wild so they will stay in the cage if need be.

We had an amazing experience with our dog sitter! She took such great care of our dog and kept us updated throughout the day with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. Dominique took very good care of my dog while I was away. Super accommodating as my dog was in heat and was kept separate from the others but not treated any differently. Nova came home happy and enjoyed her stay! I will definitely be using this sitter again in the future!

Stacy did a great job! He was able to take one of our dogs to the vet for an appt also which was awesome. Very communicative, and sent pictures often! My dogs came home happy and healthy 🩵 we will be using Stacy again if we ever need our dogs to have a safe place to stay!

My dog was well cared for, loved, and treated like family while I was away. I received regular updates, photos, and communication that gave me complete peace of mind. It was clear that my dog was happy, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention. I truly appreciate the care, reliability, and kindness shown throughout the entire stay. I would highly recommend and will definitely book again in the future

Bowie had so much fun! This was my first time being away from him overnight and Daniel was so good at updating me within minutes whenever I asked. Bowie got sent home with gifts and a huge smile. My baby was so happy, I will definitely be using them again :). Plus their pup was the sweetest baby and was so patient with my crazy boy.

I had a very very last minute overnight request, and thankfully, Zachary was very accommodating. After i sent a message through Rover, he responded almost immediately, and my husband was on his way to drop our dog off shortly after. He did not give a lot of updates during her stay, but I also had not specifically requested this. When I did check in, he responded promptly. Our dog was a happy girl when we picked her up, and went to get several more cuddles before jumping in our car. It was obvious to me she was comfortable during her stay. I would absolutely have Zachary watch her again in the future if he is available. Totally recommend. 5 stars

Our dog had not done well interacting with dogs in the past, but by the end of her stay, she was playing with their own dog like they were lifelong friends. The home was extremely clean and well organized. You honestly could not tell that Christine had fur babies of her own because the house was spotless and smelled great. Christine was very easy to talk to and friendly from the start, which immediately made me feel comfortable leaving my dogs in her care. Throughout their stay, my dogs were kept clean and very well cared for, including having their clothes and bedding washed every three days. Christine was also very attentive to their health. She noticed that one of my pups had a worm in his stool and immediately contacted me, explained the situation, and provided options. She even went to the store herself to get dewormer, which I truly appreciated. She even helped him grow his hair back and get his skin back healthy My pups were extremely happy and clearly enjoyed their stay. Blu was a little shy at first due to a traumatic experience with a previous sitter, but she quickly grew comfortable and absolutely loved Christine and her husband. I was very satisfied with the bathing and grooming services, and my dogs were provided with a comfortable, safe place to rest along with warm clothing during the colder weather. Christine truly went above and beyond to ensure my babies received plenty of attention, fun, and love. She kept me updated every day with messages, photos, and videos, all of which exceeded my expectations and showed how happy my dogs were. Christine is very knowledgeable and clearly experienced in providing excellent animal care. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
