“Sierra did a wonderful job house/dog sitting for our family. We have three dogs, one being senior and another being a new member of the pack, and I was nervous to leave them all boarded together with a stranger, but allowing them to stay home worked the best for us. Sierra was very communicative and sent updates and messages regularly. From the start I knew her clear and quick communication style was going to make it a good fit. I would totally book with Sierra again 100%.”

“I sort of hate to post a review, because I want to keep Debbie all to myself! My elderly doodle is always safe, loved and cared for when she is in charge. She sends tons of pictures and maintains the schedule we set out for her. It is such a relief to know my dog is in her care when we are gone.”

“Susan is amazing! Our dogs absolutely loved her, and we could immediately tell they felt comfortable and well cared for. She truly went above and beyond, even helping with a few unexpected things we forgot to handle before leaving - and took care of everything without hesitation. Susan is dependable, professional, and incredibly trustworthy, which gave us complete peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy a completely stress-free trip. We are so grateful for her help and will definitely be using Susan as our go-to sitter for all future trips. Highly recommend!”

“The best dog sitter!! Darla has truly saved us this last month with all the travel we have had to do. She is so responsive and I know our dog was in great hands! Our flight was majorly delayed and she stayed extra time to make sure he was cared for. Our house is always clean, she sends us tons of pictures and videos, and we cannot recommend her enough!”

“Taylor was great! She sent us regular updates on our girls and took great care of them! They were happy doggies and we felt so relieved knowing they were well cared for and seeing daily pictures!”

“Kelsie was great with our big pup! She gave regular updates including photos throughout the weekend. She was really easy to communicate with leading up to and throughout the time she stayed at our home. Would definitely recommend her!”

“Once again we are thankful to have Jackie as a pet sitter. Our dog Duke is a little older and has separation anxiety for sure. She takes great care of him and we love all the pictures she sends. Hoping she will be our sitter in the future. THANK YOU JACKIE”

“Kailiany was awesome. Regular updates, our 3 fur kids were happy and healthy when we returned, and she even put the trash out by the road for us. HIGHLY recommend and will definitely book again in the future. Thank you Kylie and Rover!”

“Irving was fabulous. We are RV'ing here in Texas for our granddaughters HS graduation and two weeks ago, lost our oldest dog, Maverick. Oliver, our five month old puppy hasn't been alone since his passing and we were concerned leaving him alone during the graduation ceremony. Irving was a last minute booking and we are so grateful he accepted our request. I couldnt be more pleased. Thank you Irving.”
“Katelyn and her daughter provided great care to our 7 month old Cocker Spaniel. She sent updates and pics throughout the night. Our pup seemed very happy and safe with her. We will definitely use her again!”

“Elle is BY FAR the best pet sitter we’ve EVER had! We went out of the country & watched our boys for 9 days. Her communication was incredible: she sent photos and detailed updates every day! It was obvious she genuinely cared for our pups and was invested in giving them the best possible experience. She truly went above and beyond! Dogs are excellent judges of character. One of our dogs is a little standoff-ish with new people, but even from the meet&greet, he immediately took to her. From the photos through the week, it was clear he was absolutely smitten with her. I can’t say enough good things about Elle-she is a unicorn! ❤️”
About: I have worked with all kinds of pets over the years! I can administer medicine. I’m able to work with more aggressive breeds. I can even take your pup to our amazing dog park and ensure they have a great time. I work part time from home now, so I have a very open schedule! Mornings and overnights are definitely preferred from me, but I can always be flexible! I allow doggies on our furniture. I have space for crates if your dog likes to sleep in a crate at night. There’s no other dogs in my home, so they will receive full attention from me.
“Megan was AMAZING! She went above and beyond while taking care of our sweet boys and the house. We had a family emergency that meant leaving town last minute and it was such a weight off our shoulders knowing that our dogs were being cared for!! HIGHLY recommend booking with Megan- Thank you again!! ❤️”

“Grace house/pet sat at our home for two weeks and we were very pleased on arrival back home. The two dogs were well cared for as was our home. Everything was spotless and all instructions appear to have been carried out to the letter. A+++ experience overall. Thanks Grace!”
“Georgia was fantastic! She was available on short notice and took amazing care of our dog, Milo. Our dog is an anxious rescue, but she is a dog whisperer and immediately put our boy at ease and he was even wanting to sleep with her night one and showing his belly which he doesn’t do unless he’s 100% comfortable. I apologized for running low on his supplies and for him being a little stinky since his bath was delayed and she didn’t even hesitate to offer to go grab what he needed and even offered to bathe him. On top of taking great care of him, she took care of us anxious dog parents and communicated every step of the way and gave lots of updates and pictures. I couldn’t recommend her enough. Will definitely be using her in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Serenada
Jacqueline did a great job watching our two mini golden doodles for four nights at our house. One of our dogs had an ear issue and she took her to the vet to get treated. Lots of nice pics showing the dogs having a fun time on walks and in the back yard. Thank you for caring so well for our furry babies!

Caitlin was amazing! She took great care of our dogs and house! She was the right level of communicative and sent us great pictures of the dogs. She also went above and beyond with grooming help for one dog that had a stomach issue. Would definitely book with her again!

Micah was absolutely an answered prayer!! We have an annual family beach trip, and we needed someone to watch our sweet pup. We tried a daycare place which got him sick both times, and I was on the verge of canceling our trip because we were running out of time. Then I decided to check out Rover for the first time and came across Micah. From the very beginning, she was quick to communicate and full of positivity. Within a week of our trip we were able to meet her and get everything set up. She truly went above and beyond!! She sent multiple photos, video updates, and texts throughout each day to fill me in on how our little guy was doing. The peace of mind she gave us was much needed as this was our first trip away from Rook. We came home to a clean house, clean sheets, and one VERY happy (and tired) pup! She even worked with him on some training! If I could leave 10 stars, I would. We are SO grateful for her, for everything she did to take care of our little dude and for holding down the fort at home while we were away. Micah is amazing, and we will definitely be calling her the next time we have a trip that we can’t bring Rook on. THANK YOU!!! 🫶🏻

Ren was reliable and took great care of my pup, as well as the house. It's no wonder the team has great reviews and so many repeat bookings. I'm grateful...she got my kiddo through a severe storm, too, and Roo is afraid of storms. I had no worries. She was responsive, yet didn't overly communicate as I've had with other sitters.

Erica was amazing! She looked after our pitbull mix Draco. She came and met him before to make sure he was ok with her. She was very kind, sat down and let him come to her. You could tell she had experience with dogs. She checked in on him and fed him throughout the day and sent regular pictures and even video. She was very responsive to my questions and made me feel at ease. We appreciate her giving him a chance and taking such good care.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Serenada walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Serenada maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Serenada choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Serenada. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
