Sierra was an absolute angel! I’m a bit of a helicopter mom when leaving out of town due to our dog having epilepsy but she was nothing short of amazing! She sent lots of updates and pictures throughout the day. Will be booking for future trips!

Got it! Here’s a more natural version with your note about being repeat customers: ⸻ We’ve used Kimmie previously, and there’s a reason we keep coming back—she’s amazing. She takes such good care of our dogs, always making sure they get their medicine, playing with them, and giving them tons of love and attention. It’s clear she really cares about them, and they’re always happy and relaxed when we get home. We feel so lucky to have found her!

Alexia was amazing. She kept us informed on a constant basis while gone and provided several photos each day of our babies. She took care of them as they were her own and for two dogs that are not use to many people, they attached to her within a couple of hours of being with them. When we returned home, the house was cleaner than we left it, which was above and beyond anything we expected. We will definitely be reaching out to her for all of our future sitting needs. THANKS ALEXIA, you are the best.

This was our first time using a pet sitter and Amber was wonderful! She came over to meet us and our dog Charlie a few weeks before our trip. She kept Charlie comfortable at our home and administered his daily meds. She sent us multiple photos and videos each day which brought us so much peace of mind. She also has experience working at a vet and brought up a health concern that we hadn’t recognized and were able to address when we got back. Highly recommend Amber!

About: State pet adoption CEO hired me! Many years of experience with dogs, cats, hamsters, sugar gliders, and other pets. Reliable. Integrity matters! Fostering experience. #pickme Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I enjoy being active and spending time with animals. I plan my schedule to ensure pets receive consistent attention, exercise, feeding, and companionship throughout the day. Whether it's walks, playtime, potty breaks, or simply providing comfort and care, I make pets a priority and enjoy incorporating their needs into my everyday activities. The only time I’m not available os Sunday mornings (church-my husband’s a minister). I care for pets in their own home by maintaining their normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and any special instructions. I provide lots of attention and companionship and do my best to ensure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away.

About: I have owned 3 dogs over the past 20 years. I have watched, walked, and cared for the dogs, cats, birds, turtles, and reptiles. I have trained my own pets and I’m very comfortable meeting new animals. I’m a part-time remotely working licensed realtor so I’ve been fingerprinted and FBI background checked for your safety and peace of mind. I’m currently working part-time from home, mostly on my computer so I have plenty of time to play, walk, and care for your pets. I will carefully adhere to your pets’ schedule, routine, and instructions to make sure your pet has a safe and happy experience in my care.

Jacqueline helped keep our anxious pup at ease while we were out of town. Our dog got along with her so well and even ate for her (in the past, he's lost up to 15lbs being at boarding places). Jacqueline left our house probably cleaner than we did for her. We will be using her again for future home/pet-sitting.

About: Since I was a young girl, I have always been fascinated by animals—particularly dogs. I begged my parents to get me my first pet—Jasper, a rescued Labrador retriever—at age 7. Taking care of Jasper was my main focus as well the odd assortment of fish and hamsters we had. When Jasper passed, and I graduated high school, my next door neighbor had a litter of golden retriever puppies. I was ready to have another animal, and that’s when Kensie came into my life. Kensie was my soul dog, and she passed away two years ago. We did everything together—going to dog parks around town, Zilker park, and even red bud (before the algae), and going to dog-friendly establishments in Austin. She was my best friend. Unfortunately, her last few months on earth were extremely challenging. I was up with her three to four times a night (sometimes more), administering multiple medications, and helping her stand/walk. When the time came to say goodbye, I could barely make the decision to let her go. I miss her so much, but because of my current living situation, don’t have the opportunity to get another dog. That’s where Rover comes in. I love animals, and am extremely responsible when it comes to taking care of someone’s pet. This will give me my ‘fix’ and also be a productive side hustle for me. It will be an honor to walk//watch your pet. I will give the very care and concern I gave my own pets. Not only have I had my own pets, but I have experience with a variety of breeds—including catahoulas and boxers. As mentioned above, I have extensive experience working with senior dogs and administering medication. I’m currently in a transition phase in my life, and am looking for something productive and rewarding. I have pretty much limitless availability to cater to whatever your dog may need. At the moment, I can’t accept any dogs into my home, but if given the opportunity to stay at a client’s house, I would follow all instructions given while simultaneously respecting the space and showering your dog with love and attention.

About: Hey! I’m Jess, and dogs basically run my life (in the best way). 🐶💛 I’ve cared for dogs of all kinds, including big, small, purebreds, mutts, puppies, seniors, even diabetic or epileptic pups. I work at a boarding and daycare facility, and I even get to hang out with K9s in training, so I know how to handle high-energy, smart, and sometimes stubborn dogs. Feeding, bathing, cleaning up messes, exercising, monitoring behavior. I do it all, and I do it with love! I’m all about communication. I’ll send pics, updates, and cute texts so you know your pup is happy, safe, and having a blast. I’m trained in pet CPR, first aid, and know all the warning signs to look out for. While I don’t bring dogs to my home, I’ll work with them wherever they’re comfortable. I’m flexible, reliable, and genuinely love making each dog feel like the goodest boy or girl in the world. I work part-time shifts (3.5–6.5 hours), so I schedule visits and walks around my job. Dogs get consistent attention, play, and exercise while you’re away. I care for pets in their own space so they feel comfortable and stress-free; feeding, walking, playing, and giving attention. I follow your instructions and adapt to each dog’s personality.

Thailynn made my first time using Rover for my fur babies so great! She was very communicative and took care of my girls like her own. She followed my detailed care instructions and reached out if she had any questions. She stayed in my home and was very respectful. The girls absolutely loved her! I can’t recommend her enough, she is just the absolute best. A big shoutout to her sister as well, who stepped in to help when needed. FAQs for House Sitting - Jarrell

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Jarrell on Rover is $49.05 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 2,196 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Jarrell. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Jarrell walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Jarrell maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Jarrell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Jarrell. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
