“5 stars! We are so grateful for the amazing care our dogs received. It’s such a relief to come home to happy, relaxed pups instead of anxious ones. You were reliable, attentive, and clearly gave them lots of love during your visits. We truly appreciate the peace of mind and will absolutely be booking again. Highly recommend!”

“Stacy was truly the best! She went above and beyond to make sure they ate when she didn’t have to go the extra mile (aka, hand feeding them to spark their hunger). As a first time Rover user, I couldn’t be more happy. I hope to continue to book with her, and you should do. She’s truly just so wonderful.”

“First time to use rover and very impressed! Thanks to Adeleine for making it so easy for us to trust someone who can really take care of our fur babies! Communication from the very beginning has been wonderful - she responds quickly! The photos she sent showed how much our fur babies enjoyed her company! Will be using rover again and will be working again with Adeleine! Thank you again Adeleine and Rover!!!”

“Rebecca was very professional and kept my dog comfortable the whole time we were gone on vacation. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for the best sitter for their dog.”
“Yung-Chu C was absolutely wonderful to work with and took excellent care of our tiny tortie cat, iO. She followed all the instructions and was communicative and friendly. The daily pictures of iO were super adorable and appreciated. Yung-Chu C. is awesome and the whole experience set us at ease to see how comfortable iO was with her while we were away. We will definitely hire her again when we need to travel!”
“Sherron was a great sitter for our high-maintenance dogs. She took the time to make sure we were comfortable beforehand, and was punctual and communicative throughout the visits. We would use her again!”

“Erika did a wonderful job taking care of our pets, sending lot of photos with her reports. She even adjusted her visiting schedule on the fly for us when the weather took an ugly turn. I would happily recommend her services to anyone!”

“I cannot recommend Melissa enough! She truly goes above and beyond in every way. From the moment I reached out, her communication was clear and prompt. She made sure to ask all the right questions to ensure she fully understood my dog's needs and preferences. While I was away, she kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which gave me peace of mind knowing Hammy was in great hands. What really stands out is how much care and attention Melissa put into looking after our dog. She not only followed our instructions perfectly but also went the extra mile to provide a fun, loving environment for our dog son. Extremely reliable, trustworthy, and kind, Melissa is everything you want in a dog sitter and more. I will absolutely be using her services again in the future!”

“Anna was amazing with taking care of our cats! This was our first time using Rover so we were nervous, but after meeting Anna we felt very much at ease. She was willing to come over and meet the animals and tour our house before we left (had to show her all the cat hiding spaces, haha). She was so friendly and easy going, and you can tell she is an animal lover herself. The daily updates with pictures were great even when our cats were being shy and didn’t want to come out. Will definitely use Anna again next time we go out of town and highly recommend!”

“Nathan is amazing. He’s thorough and SO communicative. He sent pet pictures and videos the entire time, and even when Diesel was being a little hellion was so patient and even spent some extra time with him to calm him down. Please use him, you won’t regret it. He’s going to be my regular sitter moving forward!!”

“Karen is fantastic with my kiddos! They’re super reliable, kind, accommodating and always make sure my dog is happy and well cared for. I love getting updates and seeing how much fun they are having. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy and loving to help with your pet, Karen is the best!”

Suzanna was wonderful to work with! We scheduled her for drop in visits to let our pup out mid day during our first week at our new jobs, and I could tell he had a great time with her each day. She posted lots of photos and always made sure he got some exercise and went potty! Thanks Suzanna, definitely will book again if we need a buddy for our pup!

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Leander stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Leander. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
