“First time to use rover and very impressed! Thanks to Adeleine for making it so easy for us to trust someone who can really take care of our fur babies! Communication from the very beginning has been wonderful - she responds quickly! The photos she sent showed how much our fur babies enjoyed her company! Will be using rover again and will be working again with Adeleine! Thank you again Adeleine and Rover!!!”

“Kinzi is refreshingly professional and dependable. She was thorough during our initial meeting which provided peace of mind while we were gone. Looking forward to hiring her again in the near future!”

“We legitimately could not have asked for a better person to do drop in visits for our dog. Our sweet girl absolutely fell in love with you! We really appreciated the thorough updates, detailed notes, and all the great photos from each visit. They gave us so much comfort while we were away. More than anything, we can’t thank you enough for the extra love, care, attention, and patience you gave her. It truly gave us complete peace of mind knowing she was in such great hands while we were out of town. We would absolutely book with you again and highly recommend you to anyone looking for someone who will genuinely care for their pet like family”

“Laura was great with our Basenji, Moose. I could tell he took to her right away when he first met her. She offered to do a Meet and Greet beforehand, which I really appreciated. She seemed very comfortable with him and he with her. She was very responsible and arrived a little early both times and sent great pics. Laura also communicated very promptly whenever I reached out. I will definitely be using her again! Thanks so much for the great care, Laura! ?”

About: I have owned two dogs myself, and my girlfriend owns one aswell, one being a puppy, and another gone sadly. I have experience with all ages of animals. This is currently my side hustle, and would love to care for pets! I am free most of the time but might also pick up a part time job. I am very loving, gentle, and very patient with animals. A lot of people also say their animals get a long with me really easily!
“Ashley has been absolutely amazing. I've had to extend my need for her services unexpected and she was so accommodating and easy to work with. She went above and beyond with caring for my dogs and making sure their needs were met while I was away. She has given me photo updates, kept track of their feeding and potty breaks, and spent time with them to make them comfortable with her presences. Highly recommend!!”

“Definitely five stars for Meni. She’s a great communicator, prompt, and treated my dog and two kitties with the upmost care. We’ll definitely be using her services again.”

“Elise was wonderful with our dog! She communicated clearly, consistently, and thoroughly while we were away, and she took excellent care of our dog, including giving him medication. I have nothing but amazing things to say about Ashley. She was so incredibly kind, attentive, loving, responsive, and wonderful with my dogs. She knows huskies well and wasn’t worried about walking the hyper husky and chill shiba every day. I was gone for 12 days and was not once worried about leaving them in her care. She also fed my blue tongue skink and ensured it was cared for! I will for sure book with her again! She’s a gem!

I’d never booked a cat sitter before Marilia, but she made me feel so at ease and so much better about leaving my Luna. It’s really clear she cares a lot about the animals she watches over. Luna is a little nervous around new people but felt so comfortable around Marilia really quickly. I’ll rebook with her any time I have to go away.
She did an amazing job taking care of our cats while we were away. She was reliable, communicative, and sent regular updates with photos. She even took care of our trash bins, which we really appreciated. Our cats were happy and well cared for when we got home. We would definitely book with her again!

Shadi has been awesome!! She is very gentle and warm with cats. She has great skills in taking care of cats and spending quality time giving care to my cat. She was willing to accomodate my requests in additional care. I am very grateful for her services and I couldn't recommend her more! Thank you Shadi!!!

Destiny allowed us to put our minds at ease while out of town for a bit over a week. She was great with communicating any updates and keeping us in the loop/providing updates. Her care allowed us to just focus on enjoying our trip without worrying about things back at home.

- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
