“I am such a fan! It’s always great relief when these guys are free to dog sit. I know my pup is getting the exercise and attention she needs and plenty of time out in fresh air.”

“Anna took wonderful care of my doodle, Loki! She kept me updated and was great with communication. I felt at ease knowing my pet was in her care while I was traveling. Thank you Anna, we hope to see you again!!”

“Amy was great for our dog Samus, she was very communicative and kept us updated every day. Her dog is super friendly and our dog was so happy to have a friend. Highly recommend.”

“Kayle was amazing! Took really good care of my dog shadow while I was out of town. He went on daily trips to the park and had so much playing with her dog! Shadow typically has really bad anxiety but had no issues. Highly recommend!”

“Tiffany went above and beyond for my corgi dog. This was the 1st time Miss Willie stayed at another home besides ours in the 1yr of her life. We set up a meet and greet just to be sure the vibes were vibing. Tiffany was very patient and attentive. She is a dog mama so it was also important that Willie got along with her dog too. Willie unfortunately picked up a bug and the day after we left town I got a message of Willie throwing up and having GI issues. Tiffany helped adjust Willies feeding and diet to help with the GI issues and was easy to coordinate Door Dash delivery of the special diet. Tiffany was super responsive in communicating Willies status each day via texts and pictures. She has a private doggy park at her place that she took Willie out to explore and run around each day. She even washed Willie on the day of pick up! Thank you Tiffany for taking care of Miss Willie like she is your own!”

“I would give 10 stars if possible! Sherry is the sweetest person and she took care of Bruce for 6 days when i was out of town! She sent lots of pictures and captured some really beautiful moments with Bruce and her kid! I could see Bruce was really happy being with her and Ruby being such a great dog companion ♥️ I was rest assured on my trip and would always consider her every time i need a sitter! ☺️ 100% recommend!!”

“Ryan was awesome with both of our girls. We were very nervous because this was our first time using Rover, Ryan came over for a meet and greet and our girls loved him, he kept us updated on them while we were gone and sent us pictures of them. Ryan was also very flexible with our schedule, I would really recommend him for any of your pets needs and we will definitely be using his sitting services next time we need him!”

“This was my first time using Rover. I was quite anxious leaving my dog with anyone especially a stranger. Much to my delight Asha was wonderful. She brought Louie into her home and treated him as one of the family. Lots of pictures, great communication, and an understanding of just what Louie needed. I’ve already booked a second care time with her.”

“Cassandra & Jason took such great care of my dog. They took her on daily walks, gave her lots of love and even took her on some adventures. I think she got lots of love and attention when staying with them. I would definitely use them again when going out of town.”

“This was my dogs first boarding experience on Rover and these guys were amazing!! She was so well taken care of and I really appreciated all the pictures Bassam sent over the weekend so I could make sure she was doing okay. I felt like she was so safe and in great hands and would absolutely recommend!”

“Brett was so incredibly wonderful! Murphy stayed with Brett and his family for 3.5 weeks and had a great time. Brett updated us regularly with pictures and regularly gave Murphy his medicine. Our mind was truly at ease knowing Murphy was in such good hands. We definitely will be rebooking with Brett in the future. 10/10 would recommend!”

“I must have done something right in a past life to have found someone as caring, amazing, and intentional as Kate to look after Princess. I got photos and videos everyday of her playing and having a good time, and she came back happy as ever. It was my first time leaving for over 2 weeks, and I was nervous, but all that went away when I saw my pup was in the best hands. I recommend to everyone.”

“Elizabeth was great with my dog Rory! She sent me updates and pictures during his overnight boarding at her place. Rory was very comfortable with her right away and looked like he had a blast. Thank you Elizabeth!!”

“Gave good updates, doesn’t take on too many dogs at one time, and treats dogs like family. Their own dog, Winnie, seems good at showing the newbies the ropes and is so sweet.”

“Derik went above and beyond looking after Polly! She went on a ton of walks, made a lot of friends, and overall had a great time. I would definitely use him again/recommend him to a friend.”

Yukti and Lucas took great care of Appa and were so kind to me. They were communicative, quick to respond, especially around drop off and pickup time, so that making the arrangements was super easy, and I got a sweet photo midway through his stay to ease my missing him. Will definitely reach out to them again next time I'm in town.

Daniela was great and in a convenient location to me! She was accommodating with drop off and pickup times, and she came to meet me outside of the front building making it very easy. She sent pictures and updates throughout each day. I recommend her especially if you’re in the lamar/downtown area for a convenient and good experience. Thank you, Daniela!

Monet boarded my cat for over 2 months. She was great at providing updates and photos at the frequency that I requested. She also did a great job letting me know about any health concerns. My cat seemed to be comfortable over his stay. I plan to have him stay with her again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
