“Gave good updates, doesn’t take on too many dogs at one time, and treats dogs like family. Their own dog, Winnie, seems good at showing the newbies the ropes and is so sweet.”

“Kara was great with my dog. She administered his medications, was kind and gentle to him, send pictures regularly, took him to his walks. My dog was happy when he came back home, and I was less guilty to leave him and go on an emergent trip. I am very glad to have found Kara for my fur baby.”

“Zoe, David and their family were fantastic sitters while we were on an international vacation! Our Doberman seemed happy and worn out when she got home and I’d definitely recommend them to anyone seeking a reliable sitter.”

“Nothing but great things to say about Brett. My dog had a great time and he sent awesome pictures and updates. I would be happy to leave my dog in his caring hands in the future.”

“Mitchell was amazing! I spent a week vacationing in Europe but my dog was also getting a little vacation with his stay! He got plenty of walks and attention with Mitchell. I received daily updates and he was super easy to communicate with! I have special food for my dog and Mitchell had no problem preparing his food. Will definitely use again!”

“Kristen was great! She sent updates and pictures of Louie when he was staying with her which I very much appreciated! She also went outside of her pick up/drop off radius to accommodate us. I highly recommend Kristen for anyone looking for a reliable, responsible and caring sitter!”

“Our toothless dog Coco loved Michelle! Michelle communicated with both my wife and I, which made her so happy. She made so many accommodations and was extremely patient with us since our dog is kind of high-need and just came out of a surgery. I don’t feel like Michelle is charging enough for what she did for us watching our Coco.”

“Cheyanne was amazing with my dog Courage. She was so kind and patient with him since it takes him awhile to be comfortable with people. They seemed like best buddies by the end of his stay. I can’t thank Cheyanne enough for taking such good care of him.”

“Cindy was amazing with our Labradoodle. I honestly think our sweet girl enjoyed her vacation more than we did ours. Thanks for taking such great care of her Cindy!”
“If awesome was a person it would be misti the way she cared for my dog over the weekend was amazing and she has to pup herself now my dog is having separation anxiety from Sadie. I will definitely be back”

“Jen was amazing with our pups! One is rather shy but she was an expert getting her to come out of her shell. You can tell immediately that Jen knows what she’s doing with little pups and they are in such good hands. We got frequent updates with pictures and videos which was so nice. We will definitely book with Jen again!”

“Danielle and Scott were absolutely wonderful! Communication was great throughout, and they were so gracious and understanding with our difficult beagle, who definitely wasn't the easiest guest. They kept us updated regularly, which gave us real peace of mind. The sweet touch of sending our dog home with a little doggy bag of treats was much appreciated. Highly recommend!”

“I needed someone to help watch my dog last minute right before a week long business trip and Nate was super helpful in accommodating my tight schedule. He responded practically within the hour to all of my communications and even offered to pick up Willow at my apartment. He sent regular updates even though I was out of the country and Willow appeared just as happy and clean as when I left her upon my return. Would definitely recommend!”

“I haven’t used Rover in a while as I have a regular sitter now, but the rare time they are unavailable I was quite nervous coming back on Rover again. I’m SO glad I found Sam on here! He was so responsive, made sure to provide me consistent updates and followed my instructions perfectly. Petey (my dog) absolutely enjoyed staying with Sam, I could tell - so I will be using his services again.”

“Yukti was the best! Sophie was so happy. She sent pictures every day to keep us updated. This was the best experience! We are happy and my dog was happy! Thank you Yukti!!”
“Gol and her daughter made my 2 dogs feel right at home and took amazing care of them over a 4 day period. I had planned to have them care for my younger, larger dog at first, but because of my dog's reactivity,I decided to board my 2 smaller, older dogs instead. Gol and her daughter were open to this last minute change, and took in my 2 older dogs with no hesitation . They accommodated me early in the morning, at 5:30 am, before my flight. I'm very thankful to have found such kind, compassionate sitters that are willing to work with your individual circumstances. I highly recommend them.”

“Claire and Jacky took amazing care of Ranger! They were very communicative and followed all instructions for my pup. They were also so accommodating when my flight was delayed. Would definitely book again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Austin
Having Bourbon board with Giovanna was an absolute delight. They got to meet ahead of time and he took to her immediately. He can be anxious and he takes time getting comfortable with strangers, but within 20 minutes they were already bonding. She was very responsive and communicative throughout this experience. She sent the right amount of updates, so I was able to enjoy my time away without any worries. After 5 days with her, he barely wanted to come back home with me! I would highly recommend Giovanna as a boarder if you are looking for a safe and loving environment for your pups.

Lily was an amazing dog sitter! She was incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay, shared lots of great photos and updates, and asked thoughtful questions beforehand to make sure she understood our dog's routine and needs. She was kind, accommodating, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. I knew our dog was in great hands, and it gave us so much peace of mind. I highly recommend Lily and would absolutely book with her again!

Desiree was wonderful with Penny. She was commutative from the start all the way through pick up which made being way a lot easier. Her home is lovely and she has a great fenced yard out back, plus a very sweet dog of her own. She paid close attention to pennies routine and needs without me having to remind her. Booking with her again.

Sarah and her husband were great. She was very flexible with our schedule and lives in a nice clean house close to downtown. We had an overnight for a short staycation and it seems like our golden got to spend the night in a loving home that took great care of him while we were away.

Israh took such good care of Prompto! I could tell Prompto was happy and enjoying his stay from the regular photo updates I would get. Prompto did really well with the company of Israh's cats too. Israh was responsive, and drop off and pickup were seamless. Highly recommend Israh for anyone looking to board their cat(s).

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
