“Audrey was fantastic!!! Quick to respond and so easy to work with. We are from out of town and had unusual circumstances but she was very accommodating. Our fur baby is high maintenance and has separation anxiety and she handled him with gentleness and care. Highly recommend!!!”

“Rickey was attentive and great with my dog! He was communicative, asked any questions he needed if something wasn’t clear, and Bobbi Jo was well cared for when we got back!”

“Valerie was incredible with my cat while I traveled. She seems to genuinely love animals and provided detailed notes that were so comforting to receive. I highly recommend Valerie.”

“I have to leave a review for Brandy cause she’s so amazing. My dog (very nervous) absolutely loves her. She walks my dog 5 days a week. I even increased to 2X per day because my dog likes her so much. And now when I travel and Brandy stays, my dog doesn’t get stressed and doesn’t even seem to care I’m gone. She’s super reliable and has helped me out last min so many times! And whenever she stays here I swear it’s cleaner than when I left!”

About: I have been around pets my whole life, but I’ve been taking care of them on my own for about 2 years. I also have personal experience owning a dog, a cat and two guinea pigs. I have cared for pets of all ages from playful puppies and kittens to senior pets that need extra attention. Every pet I have taken care of has always been in good hands I’m a college student in the AFROTC program at UT Austin. My weekdays can get pretty busy with classes, but Mondays and Fridays I’m mostly free. I also have some breaks between classes Tuesday through Thursday where I can stop by for pet care. Fridays and weekends are usually wide open, so I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention they need I don’t bring pets into my own home, but I make sure they’re comfortable and cared for in their own space. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, keep up with feeding and walks, give them playtime and attention, and make sure they feel safe while you’re away.
“Sierra did a great job taking care of my cat while I was out of town. We got lots of pictures of him playing and getting treats and pets. I will definitely be booking with Sierra again!”

“Ramajana was fantastic! She was prompt, reliable, and took great care of my cats while I was away. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter—and I’d love to have her look after my kitties again in the future!”

“Thank you Katie! Chickens aren’t easy or always fun to wrangle! We appreciate your consistency and creativity getting them cooped each night and making sure they were safe. We also appreciate how communicative you were during our trip.”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life and have done pet sitting as a side job since I was a teenager. When I moved to Austin 3 years ago I started to pet sit more consistently for neighbors, friends, family and friends of friends. I grew up with cats and dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes and demeanors and now have two cats of my own. Because of this I understand the importance of feeling like your fur babies are safe and cared for while you’re away. I recognize every pet has its own personality, routine and needs and I always do my best to give your animals the same love, attention and care that you do. My weekends are typically free and I work from home which helps me accommodate a more flexible schedule including early mornings, later nights and drop in visits of any length. I’m also very active and love to exercise so walking, running and playing with dogs is a perfect fit for me My goal is to care for your pet the same way you would—with patience, love, and plenty of attention. Every pet is different and it’s important to me to take the time to understand your pets personality and comfort level, whether that means extra playtime or giving them the space they need to feel safe. I’m always happy to schedule a meet and greet before our first visit so both you and your pet can get to know me and feel comfortable. I also know that inviting someone into your home requires trust and I will always be respectful of your space and leave it just as I found it—if not even cleaner.
“So quick to respond when I had an issue with my litter robot and showing up last minute to help my kitties out. Definitely booking again and highly recommend to anyone needing help with their fur babies! Thank you Sanjana!”

“Joy was SO attentive with my cat. She was very communicative and send amazing photos everyday and kept mama happy and purring the whole time. 10/10 would definitely book again!”

“Julia was so nice to my Duchess. She sent thorough updates and clearly got to know Duchy. She was flexible with time and I was grateful she was available to add an extra day. I would and will recommend Julia to my cat friends.”

“Simone was great! She was right on time, did all the little things we asked of her, and most importantly, played a lot with our very energetic pup! She also provided lots of fun pics and videos.”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have experience with a wide range of breeds, personalities, and energy levels — from playful puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and comfort. I understand that every dog is different, and I always make it a priority to help them feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply sticking to their routine, I’ll make sure they get the attention and care they deserve. I am currently a college student with a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of time to focus on walks, drop-ins, play sessions, and quality care for your pets. I’m dependable, attentive, and always happy to provide updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away. I’m especially mindful of dogs who may feel nervous in new environments or around new people. I take the time to learn each dog’s personality, routine, and needs so they can feel as relaxed and happy as possible during our time together. I have a flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time and attention to your pets. I’m available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet sitting throughout the week. I can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits, and I’m happy to work with your pet’s routine to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, and any special needs. I provide a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment, and I make sure pets are always supervised. I’m attentive to behavior and will keep you updated with messages and photos so you feel confident your pet is in good hands.

Taylor was so incredibly attentive to my cats! She was available at last minute booking to help me out while I left out of town. She provided me quality updates and kept my fur babies happy and healthy. I will definitely be booking with Taylor again! Thank you so much!!
Rebecca is amazing! My cat loves when she stops by and is always so excited to see her. I am so comfortable leaving my cat in her care and know I am always getting many pictures and updates. Even when my cat was sick and I was gone, Rebecca didn’t hesitate to help out extra. She is fantastic!

Abby was incredible. My apartment is not very easy to get in and out of and she worked with me through all difficulties. She was on time, communicative & responsive. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. She cleared so much of my anxiety. Using rover for the first time can be scary, but Abby was the perfect fit and I’m so thankful for her! I would have her watch Chief anytime ❤️❤️❤️

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
