“Ramajana was fantastic! She was prompt, reliable, and took great care of my cats while I was away. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter—and I’d love to have her look after my kitties again in the future!”

“Super last minute request and she was so accommodating with my 3 lil kitties. They were well taken care of and loved on and I came back to all of them relaxed and happy :) Will book again!”

“Lillian was absolutely amazing with my three babies! I haven’t used Rover in over 4 years and was pretty nervous to leave them for a few days for a work trip. Lillian came over for a meet and greet prior to make everyone comfortable and they all loved her immediately. She kept me updated with pictures each visit and it definitely eased my anxious mind. I’ll definitely be using Lillian again in the future!”

“I have to leave a review for Brandy cause she’s so amazing. My dog (very nervous) absolutely loves her. She walks my dog 5 days a week. I even increased to 2X per day because my dog likes her so much. And now when I travel and Brandy stays, my dog doesn’t get stressed and doesn’t even seem to care I’m gone. She’s super reliable and has helped me out last min so many times! And whenever she stays here I swear it’s cleaner than when I left!”

“The best pet sitter youll find. It’s so hard to find someone you trust and Arantxa is the best. She does more than expected and gives me so much peace of mind taking care of my pets. I’m so thankful for her services!”

About: Just moved to Austin and had to say goodbye to all my Chicago clients who I miss very much! I specialize in caring for large breeds who could perhaps be difficult for some to handle, but I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities for over 12 years. Friends, family, and neighbors trust me to provide safe, dependable, and loving care while they’re away. I’m experienced with walks, feeding schedules, playtime, administering basic care, and keeping pets comfortable in their routine. I treat every pet like family and focus on making them feel safe, happy, and loved. I also provide regular photo/video updates so owners always have peace of mind while they’re away. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or extra cuddles, I make sure they get personalized attention and care. I am a pointed pen calligrapher and freelance graphic designer and have the luxury of making my own schedule. This allows me to be extremely flexible and available on short notice. So if your pet requires frequent walks/medicine or simply cant be left alone for any extended period of time, I'm your guy! When hired for any overnight stay in a clients home, it's important to me that I am doing everything I can to alleviate any anxiety or worry that is often associated with leaving a pet behind. I don't take lightly the fact that I'm being entrusted with the safety and security of both your pet and your home. With every stay, I promise to keep your home clean and secure at all times. I am there to take things off your plate not to add to it, so any rule or preference you might have is valid and will be adhered to down to every detail. Pet owner's peace of mind and overall experience with me is every bit as important as providing your pet with comfort and security and companionship in their absence.

About: Since I was a child I have taken care of 2-3 dogs in one home and multiple cats with my family. All different types of dogs, fostering and rescuing animals when we could. Love to maintain healthy and clean animals so that they can live their best lives and feel loved! I am currently a fire fighter and looking for a side job. I am off for few days out of the week and want to be active and be around animals. I am currently taking care of my cats indoor to protect them from this heat. Often getting fresh water and have family dogs that like to go outside but stay cool so I often have little dog pools set up! I am okay with taking them outside or keeping them inside for some safe fun!
About: I have been around pets my whole life, but I’ve been taking care of them on my own for about 2 years. I also have personal experience owning a dog, a cat and two guinea pigs. I have cared for pets of all ages from playful puppies and kittens to senior pets that need extra attention. Every pet I have taken care of has always been in good hands I’m a college student in the AFROTC program at UT Austin. My weekdays can get pretty busy with classes, but Mondays and Fridays I’m mostly free. I also have some breaks between classes Tuesday through Thursday where I can stop by for pet care. Fridays and weekends are usually wide open, so I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention they need I don’t bring pets into my own home, but I make sure they’re comfortable and cared for in their own space. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, keep up with feeding and walks, give them playtime and attention, and make sure they feel safe while you’re away.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Austin
This was my first time using rover and I was a little nervous leaving my cat Bootsy but I’m really glad I booked Jasmine. She sent lots of photos and videos so I always knew he was doing okay and I could see he felt comfortable and safe with her. I highly recommend Jasmine and would book again 😊

Terra is amazing!! She is the first experience I’ve had using Rover and she was so thorough and thoughtful with her questions regarding Charlie and his needs. Terra was so helpful with the initial booking process, very communicative, and left the sweetest notes in the daily rover cards. I came home to a happy kitty and felt so good knowing he was well taken care of while I was away. Would absolutely book with Terra again, thank you so much! :)

Katie was so amazing! She watched my sweet cat over a weekend and did such a great job making sure all of her stuff was set up each day and playing with her! She also sent me so many pics each day which I am so thankful for and made being away from my cat much easier for me. Thank you Katie!!

Allison took wonderful care of my cats. She was very responsive, on time, and gave me great peace of mind while we were away. I felt completely relaxed knowing they were in such good hands. I would happily trust Allison with my pets again and highly recommend her.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Austin. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
