About: I’ve had the joy of caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities, and I love getting to know each pet’s routine. I’ve house-sat for families with two small dogs, including a sweet pit bull, and I’m comfortable with everything from walks and playtime to keep pets company and make sure they feel safe while their families are away. I’ve also cared for dogs in my own home, where I have two cats who are comfortable and friendly around small dogs. In addition, I’ve dog-sat dogs who needed medication every 12 hours, so I’m comfortable sticking to a schedule. More than anything, I want pets to feel comfortable, happy and cared for while their people are away. I’m attentive to their routines, patient with their personalities and always happy to give them love and attention. I work hybrid and go into the office around three times a week for about two hours. I have an early morning routine so I’m happy to feed and give walks / care early. I am available for walks every 4-8 hours. I can board pretty much every day of the week as long as your pet is okay with me also taking care of my cats! I have a one bedroom apartment with two cats of my own, and separate pets during feeding time. I’m happy to create separate spaces for other times and can also make room for crates if needed. At your home, I’m happy to respect house rules while making sure your pet feels comfortable and at home.
“Lillian was great — highly recommend! She was very kind and responsive, and played with our cat so well. I felt such peace of mind knowing she was checking on them and getting cute photos :)”

“Regan is absolutely amazing!!!! She has cared for my pets in the past and will continue to use her in the future. I feel so at ease when she’s watching my cats.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with over 10 years of professional pet care experience. I worked for a local pet care business in my hometown of Atlanta, caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities—from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra TLC. Since I don’t currently have pets of my own, I love any opportunity to spend time with furry friends and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. I work primarily from home (I’m only in the office on Wednesdays, and even then my schedule is flexible), which means I can provide plenty of attention, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I’m available for both daytime care and overnight stays. If your dog has lots of energy, even better! I’m an avid runner and would be happy to take active pups on runs in addition to regular walks to help them stay happy and exercised. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll care for yours as if they were my own. I can’t wait to meet you and your four-legged family member! I work mostly remotely so I can house sit or stop by for long walks, feedings, etc. My schedule is flexible most days of the week. I typically prefer caring for pets in their own home because I believe animals are happiest and most comfortable in their familiar environment. I make it a priority to stick to your pet’s normal routine—from feeding schedules and walks to playtime and bedtime—so they experience as little disruption as possible while you’re away. That said, if your dog is comfortable with apartment living, I’m also happy to welcome them into my home! I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and care, just as they would in their own space.
“Arantxa always goes above expectations, she’s set such a high standard it’s such a bummer when I can’t book her. She sends the best photos and updates and that are so adorable and funny. She’ll bring in packages, tell you if something is wrong or out of the ordinary at home, and help out in so many ways with pet care and more. She’s so reliable and trustworthy I am always at ease knowing she is caring for my pets. She’s so reliable genuinely loves animals, the best pet sitter I’ve ever had!!”

“Simone did a great job with my dog Lily and my two kittens!! She took lots of photos and videos, my pets looked very happy! She also had some great notes and I will definitely be reaching out to her again for care!”

“Amiah was very friendly, communicated with me during each visit, and took wonderful care of my dog! She sent pictures, played with him, and gave him his medication at the requested times! My dog got a small cut prior to Amiah taking care of him and she ensured that it stayed clean while we were gone. I highly recommend Amiah and will definitely be asking her to care for my dog in the future.”
“Birgen was wonderful with my cat Pepper! Pepper loves to cuddle but can be a little bit shy or uncertain, but she warmed right up to Birgen. Birgen was very communicative and closely followed all instructions. I plan to rebook with her in the future!”

“Had a great experience connecting with Joy for some weekend drop in visits for my senior chihuahua. She left detailed notes and great photos of her visits and followed all instructions perfectly. 💗”

“Julia took care of Gryffin for 10 days. She maintained constant communication, and worked with me while out of state. I had no worries about Gryffin for the entire trip. Thank you!!”

“Bently took great care of our cat while we were away. He was always quick to respond, sent good visit summaries, and included lots of pictures! We’d definitely book Bently again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Austin
Christian was absolutely wonderful! We felt completely at ease knowing Stevie was in such caring and dependable hands during our vacation. It made us so happy to see how quickly Christian bonded with our little cat. Christian was always punctual, sent us tons of adorable pictures, and provided a thoughtful update after every visit that never failed to make us smile. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would wholeheartedly recommend Christian to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Second time booking with Jazzsminn. For each I booked 2 a day drop in visits for a week. This time my shy kitty boy came right up to her day 1! When I returned I could tell he felt well looked after. I would highly recommend her for any pet parent hoping to take a guilt free trip!

Joan was the absolute sweetest when caring my girl Toothless. She was so communicative, thorough, and paid so much attention to detail when I wasn’t able to on this busy trip away. I love how she would include some many pictures from the check in and was very descriptive about each visit. I could not recommend her more to care for your pets!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Austin. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
