“Rickey was attentive and great with my dog! He was communicative, asked any questions he needed if something wasn’t clear, and Bobbi Jo was well cared for when we got back!”

About: My wife and I moved to Austin for the running scene, so long walks and miles of movement are what I live for. If your dog has energy to burn, I’m more than happy to match their energy on the trails, sidewalks, and (safe) roads. I’m a former service dog trainer, so I’m comfortable with all kinds of personalities, quirks, and needs. At home, we’ve got two bigger, high-energy older dogs, which means I’m used to handling strength, stamina, and the occasional “we’re not done yet” attitude. Whether your pup needs a chill walk, a proper outing, or a legit run, I’ve got you covered. I’m reliable, flexible, and I treat every dog like they’re my own . As a work-from-home running coach, I have availability all day any day and am happy to move my running schedule around to fit running or walking with your pup! I've had and taken care of others' dogs for as long as I can remember! With two high-energy older dogs at home, I know how important it is to make sure a dog's unique, detailed needs are met. As a former dog trainer and pet sitter with over a decade of experience, you can trust your dog will be cared for as if they were my own.
“Valerie is AMAZING! She takes great care of each and every dog she watches and gives in depth detail on her entire drop in. She genuinely cares for your pets like her own! I will be booking with her again!”

“Brandy is wonderful to work with! Super quick to respond and the perfect combination of go with the flow/adapting to the situation while super professional and obviously great with pets. So glad to have her caring for my kitties!”

About: I have been around pets my whole life, but I’ve been taking care of them on my own for about 2 years. I also have personal experience owning a dog, a cat and two guinea pigs. I have cared for pets of all ages from playful puppies and kittens to senior pets that need extra attention. Every pet I have taken care of has always been in good hands I’m a college student in the AFROTC program at UT Austin. My weekdays can get pretty busy with classes, but Mondays and Fridays I’m mostly free. I also have some breaks between classes Tuesday through Thursday where I can stop by for pet care. Fridays and weekends are usually wide open, so I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention they need I don’t bring pets into my own home, but I make sure they’re comfortable and cared for in their own space. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, keep up with feeding and walks, give them playtime and attention, and make sure they feel safe while you’re away.
“If we could give Kate 10 stars, we would! She went above and beyond in every way, and we really felt like she truly card for our cat, Stitch. She took at least 20 photos every visit, and her write-ups were so detailed and thoughtful.”

“Ramajana was fantastic! She was prompt, reliable, and took great care of my cats while I was away. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter—and I’d love to have her look after my kitties again in the future!”

“Meg was on time and didn’t rush her visit with Chico. Even played in the yard with him long enough for him to go to the bathroom twice. Will definitely be using Meg in the future.”

“Sierra did a great job taking care of my cat while I was out of town. We got lots of pictures of him playing and getting treats and pets. I will definitely be booking with Sierra again!”

“After a last minute scramble for a replacement sitter over a holiday, we were so lucky to find Regan. She gave us the peace of mind of knowing that our cat is happy, healthy, and well taken care of while we were away.”

“Iris did a great job of taking care of Ponyo, not just feeding and cleaning up after her, but taking time to play with her and interact with her. She sent multiple photos after each visit so we could see that Ponyo was well and happy.”

“Joy was SO attentive with my cat. She was very communicative and send amazing photos everyday and kept mama happy and purring the whole time. 10/10 would definitely book again!”

“Julia was fantastic with my two cats! They both were friendly with her, and often hide when people come over, so this was a nice surprise. She sent great photos everyday, and kept me up to date. Thank you Julia!”

“Lillian was absolutely amazing with my three babies! I haven’t used Rover in over 4 years and was pretty nervous to leave them for a few days for a work trip. Lillian came over for a meet and greet prior to make everyone comfortable and they all loved her immediately. She kept me updated with pictures each visit and it definitely eased my anxious mind. I’ll definitely be using Lillian again in the future!”

“Thank you Katie! Chickens aren’t easy or always fun to wrangle! We appreciate your consistency and creativity getting them cooped each night and making sure they were safe. We also appreciate how communicative you were during our trip.”

“Zoe was very responsible and took such good care of our 2 cats. she responded quickly after every message and made everything super easy for us. we definitely recommend Zoe for any pet sitting needs:)”

“Hailey is great with my dog, Petunia. She spent extra time with Petunia when she was too scared to go outside on her visit. After, she came to the house on her own time so Petunia could get to know her better and hopefully feel less scared for the next time that I need to book her. She is very reliable, she has a flexible schedule and I trust her in my house with my baby! I will definitely hire her again!”
“Simone D is the best with my two large energetic pups!! She takes amazing care and documents everything. I try to book her whenever I can because my pups adore her and I never have to worry about them.”

“Highly recommend Sam as your pet sitter- she was extremely caring with my two cats and was diligent with the instructions we left for her. Her communication was great and she was awesome! Thank you Sam!!”

Melissa was outstanding with my cat and showed him so much love and attention. She followed all my instructions and then some!! Truly went above and beyond and helped ease my stress of being away from my cat! I will rebook with her and highly recommend. Great communication and photos!

This is our second time entrusting Sydney with our two kitties’ care while away and we will always request her! It’s tough to be away from them but Sydney really helps with the wonderful and creative pictures she sends, and the status updates always make our day. We can tell that even our shyest kitty has taken a liking to her, and we hope to work with her again on our next trip. Cats only trust people based on their actions and how they are treated, so we know she has continued to take amazing care of them. Thank you thank you thank you!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Austin. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
