About: I've had and loved dogs my entire life. I have extra experience with anxious dogs and senior babies as I have some of them myself! I'd love to take care of your puppies like they're mine. I am a college student who has lots of time while home on break and I would love to care for your pet! I love taking walks and lounging around, whichever your pet prefers! I am unable to bring pets back to my home at this time due to my living situation, but I will provide the best care in your home.

About: Hi! I’m 24 years old and recently completed my M.S. in Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M. I’m spending the summer in Austin before heading to California this fall to begin veterinary school! I’ve always had a strong love for animals and am excited to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. While living in College Station, I worked with Lucky Paws BCS, a pet care organization, where I got experience caring for a wide variety of pets at their own home. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, administering medications etc. I have my own car, live in central Austin, and have a flexible schedule this summer. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pets! I just want the best care for your fur baby so my prices are flexible! I am currently in Austin for the next two months before I move to attend veterinary school, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to your pets! I am available for drop-ins, walks, feeding, playtime, medication administration if needed, and giving your pets lots of attention and companionship throughout the week. Because I currently live with my parents’ dogs, I’m unable to board pets in my home, but I am more than happy to spend extended time caring for your fur babies in the comfort of their own home where they feel safest and most comfortable. As a future veterinary student, I truly enjoy being around animals and love building trust and relationships with each pet I care for! I always try to follow each pet’s normal routine so they feel comfortable and stress-free while you’re away! I’m happy to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable, whether that’s walks, playtime, feeding, medications, or extra cuddles and attention. Your pets will have my full attention the entire time I’m with them, and I’m always happy to send updates and photos for peace of mind!

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life! My personality has grown around my love for animals and I know I would not be the person I am today without the unconditional love of animals. I have never not owned a pet, I love taking care of them and showing my love! I love all animals and am super comfortable around every kind. Friends can always rely on me to take care of their pets when they’re away, no problem! I just graduated in May from UT and am taking the summer off of work to have fun! I have a very open schedule and can be very flexible to take care of pets. I understand the need for the upmost care for your pets, considering I would want the same as well. Good communication is a key aspect to this care and I would make sure to check in and answer quickly in order to avoid any confusion. Also, I love taking pics so I can always send update pics to ensure safety and trust!

About: I have always been great with animals ever since I was a kid. My family always calls me the ‘animal whisperer’. I have been pet sitting for many family members and friends for multiple years. I have experience with small dogs, large dogs, nervous dogs, energetic dogs, etc. I also have experience with cats, bunnies, and hamsters. I have gotten nothing but positive reviews from owners and I would love to take care of your furry friend! Because of my summer break I am available pretty much every day! Aside from a few vacations I am free both weekends and week days! Ensuring your pets safety and comfort is always my top priority. When I do drop in visits I will always make sure that there is nothing around the house that your pet could get into and get hurt.

“Dulce is so great with my pup ziggy! I’m a nurse and work weird days and she is so accommodating with my schedule and so flexible! My pup is very high energy but she handles him really well and I know he’s in good hands! I feel so confident in her ability and know that my pup is well taken care of when she watches him!”

About: I’ve been around all kinds of animals my entire life, but growing up always had at least 5 dogs and cats in the house! Ive house sat for families with multiple animals, animals with special behavioral and health needs, and puppies and kittens. I love doing all the silly little things for other peoples fur babies because I am the same way with my mine! I’m have also been a foster care provider for Austin Animal Services and have absolutely loved getting to spoil the shelter dogs and help get them adopted into fantastic homes. Through this experience I’ve learned a lot about dog behavior and how to make even the shyest dogs comfortable and happy. I’m a senior at UT and have a super flexible schedule in the summer and classes 2 days out of the week during the year so I’d love to help out with your furry friends! I’m currently just taking one summer class for the next month so my schedule is flexible. I also have my own foster dog currently, but usually my apartment is pet-free so I love getting to hang with other people's dogs and kitties! I am an early riser so for dog walking, I try to do client walks early in the morning, or later in the evening in the summer when it is so hot🥵. If daytime visits work better for you and your dog I’m happy to play with them inside or just take them out for short potty breaks in this heat. For dog/cat sitting I am open to staying overnight and providing house sitting services if needed! If you just want drop in visits while you’re away, I can drop by up to three times per day to feed, water, and love on your pets. I do prefer that housesitting, drop in, and dog walking clients live within 20ish minutes of UT campus area so that I’m able to give your babies as much time as they deserve!
“Alyxandria did a wonderful job taking care of my cat Sinatra! She was communicative, helpful and shared photos while I was traveling! Highly recommended having her watch your pets!”

Meredith was an excellent and brave caretaker of Oscar. Highly communicative, thoughtful and considerate. Oscar warmed up quickly and really enjoyed her presence. Meredith was skilled at managing complex situations and used excellent judgment. Would highly recommend her services and will definitely hire again.

Lucia was very thoughtful and kind, she did a great job walking and checking up on my dog max! He’s very old and has a lot of health issues, I usually have a hard time finding a willing sitter. Lucia met all of his needs with great care and attention. 5 stars and will definitely book again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
