“Gail is very trustworthy and went above and beyond caring for Rambo when he required extra attention after he sustained an ear injury the day before I left for my trip. This is my second time using Gail as a sitter for my dog and I would use her again.”

“Amane did an amazing job and took great care of my senior dog. She was friendly and communicative and sent me regular updates. It's such a comfort and relief to find someone reliable and trustworthy - I highly recommend her and would trust her with our future dog sitting needs!”

“Stephanie was a great find! She is kind, attentive, and communicates well (who doesn't want pupdates while they're away?!). Our dog became fast friends with her sweet dog, Truman. We will definitely use Stephanie again!”

“Kimberley was a savior for me on the last minute booking. My Gus loved her and her Donut and I’m pretty sure he didn’t want to come home after his two nights there. Her communication along with pics were incredible! I had some separation anxiety and she absolutely erased it. I will be forever indebted!”

“Bassam, John & Adam took such great care of our pups! They sent picture updates throughout our trip which made it easier to relax knowing they were in good hands. We came home to two very happy, very tired dogs, which is always the best sign!! Thank you”

“Rui accommodated our last minute need for an overnight sitting & did a great job! Our pup (who had never spent a night without us) had so much fun & got to play with Rui’s little dogs as well. She definitely didn’t want to come home! You could tell Rui really loved watching our dog & it was obvious she took great care of her. Thank you, Rui!”

“Mary was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Nino. I truly appreciated the frequent updates, photos, and videos, they gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. She went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and comfortable, with plenty of playtime, cuddles, and exercise. Nino was clearly well cared for and loved. I would highly recommend Mary to anyone looking for an amazing dog sitter.”

“This was my first time using Rover. I was quite anxious leaving my dog with anyone especially a stranger. Much to my delight Asha was wonderful. She brought Louie into her home and treated him as one of the family. Lots of pictures, great communication, and an understanding of just what Louie needed. I’ve already booked a second care time with her.”

“Patches did an amazing job caring for my miniature dachshund! She had great communication, always responding quickly, and sent daily updates that gave me so much peace of mind while I was away for a week. I felt at ease knowing my pup was in such great hands!”

“Lily was great! She was flexible with drop off changes due to my work schedule and kept me updated throughout the week. My dog Otis loved her kids and I would book with Lily again!”

“Cheyanne boarded my dog while I went on a work trip. I’ve used her in the past and will continue to use her in the future. My dog seems very comfortable with Cheyanne and she has a big yard which is great. Cheyanne is very attentive and provides periodic updates and pictures.”

“Maura and Shawn were amazing! They treated our two dogs as their own. They sent daily texts and pictures with updates of the dogs. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will definitely book with them again.”

“Our toothless dog Coco loved Michelle! Michelle communicated with both my wife and I, which made her so happy. She made so many accommodations and was extremely patient with us since our dog is kind of high-need and just came out of a surgery. I don’t feel like Michelle is charging enough for what she did for us watching our Coco.”

“Kristen was great! She sent updates and pictures of Louie when he was staying with her which I very much appreciated! She also went outside of her pick up/drop off radius to accommodate us. I highly recommend Kristen for anyone looking for a reliable, responsible and caring sitter!”

This was the first time our dog Saber was away from family. She was a little nervous at first , but Arie and Etty were so kind and sweet she settled right in and had a great vacation, as Etty would say :-). Overall, Arie and Etty were just wonderful, they are role model dog sitters ! They took great care of our Saber and updated us with pictures regularly which put us so at ease.

Laura did a fantastic job watching my girls while I was away for the weekend! Laura was very kind, her dog was sweet, and I knew they were going to be well taken care of the moment I dropped them off. She also had great communication / updates throughout their stay! My pups came home as happy as ever, thank you so much!

Thank you, Regan (and fam)! Regan was so amazing with Bandit. She sent plenty of pictures while I was away and kept in communication to make sure I felt connected and up to date. She was so great with my senior pup and even helped him brave a thunderstorm while I was away. Will definitely book with her again and recommend her to my friends!

Anna was INCREDIBLE! I really can’t speak highly enough about her. From the 4 mile walks, to cuddling him at night, to the pictures and videos I got everyday. Truly nothing could make me happier than seeing someone take such phenomenal care of my dog. Highly highly recommend

Krista was very easy to communicate with and sent photos and updates throughout. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog, Bug, with her. Bug can be very nervous around new places and people but Krista was able to make Bug feel comfortable. Would happily have Krista watch Bug again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
