“Anna always goes above and beyond to make our kitties comfortable. Both of our cats have their quirks and this time Fig came out of her shell for Anna more than any other sitter has ever done before - which just speaks to how amazing she & Sam are!”

“Aimee took care of my two pups on fairly short notice, and she was amazing to work with from the start! She kept us updated with pictures and videos multiple times a day, which made me feel at ease. I could tell my dogs enjoyed their time with her because they were playful and goofy in all the videos she sent! My dogs can be very anxious, but Aimee worked her magic and made them feel completely comfortable with her and her dog. We will definitely use Aimee again!!”
“Maura and Shawn were awesome with our senior dog, providing plenty of pictures and cute little updates about her throughout the day. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring dog sitters, and we’ll definitely be reaching out to them again if we travel out of state.”

“Milk’s visit with Somporn was seamless and stress free! I can tell he really enjoyed his short stay. I received updates on how he was adjusting within the first hour of dropping him off which was nice. I’m from out of town but would definitely rebook if that weren’t the case.”

“Cheyanne was amazing with my dog Courage. She was so kind and patient with him since it takes him awhile to be comfortable with people. They seemed like best buddies by the end of his stay. I can’t thank Cheyanne enough for taking such good care of him.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Lake Hills
This was the first time our dog Saber was away from family. She was a little nervous at first , but Arie and Etty were so kind and sweet she settled right in and had a great vacation, as Etty would say :-). Overall, Arie and Etty were just wonderful, they are role model dog sitters ! They took great care of our Saber and updated us with pictures regularly which put us so at ease.

Laura did a fantastic job watching my girls while I was away for the weekend! Laura was very kind, her dog was sweet, and I knew they were going to be well taken care of the moment I dropped them off. She also had great communication / updates throughout their stay! My pups came home as happy as ever, thank you so much!

Thank you, Regan (and fam)! Regan was so amazing with Bandit. She sent plenty of pictures while I was away and kept in communication to make sure I felt connected and up to date. She was so great with my senior pup and even helped him brave a thunderstorm while I was away. Will definitely book with her again and recommend her to my friends!

Anna was INCREDIBLE! I really can’t speak highly enough about her. From the 4 mile walks, to cuddling him at night, to the pictures and videos I got everyday. Truly nothing could make me happier than seeing someone take such phenomenal care of my dog. Highly highly recommend

Krista was very easy to communicate with and sent photos and updates throughout. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog, Bug, with her. Bug can be very nervous around new places and people but Krista was able to make Bug feel comfortable. Would happily have Krista watch Bug again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
