“Our 2nd time for Cortney to drop-in on our cat. She can be counted on to deliver excellent care! She has loads of experience, she's responsive, and she's super easy to work with.”

About: I’ve been pet sitting for over 11 years, and my own dog and cat are my best friends. Because I have pets of my own, I know firsthand how important it is to find someone you can completely trust to look after them. I also work as a veterinary technician with over 8 years of experience in the field. This medical background means your pet’s safety and well-being are always covered, whether they need specialized medication, senior care, or just professional monitoring. I treat every animal with the exact same care and attention that I give to my own. I look forward to helping you out and making sure your animal is happy and safe while you're away! I currently work full time M-F. I work in the Westlake Hills are so I am available to do drop ins around lunch time in this area. Otherwise, I am available after 5 pm most days to do walks and drop ins. On weekends I am very flexible and can do multiple walks/ drop ins throughout the day! While I cannot offer overnight boarding in my own home, I am available for occasional overnight housesitting in your home. Because I have a dog of my own who is my best friend, I would need to bring her along with me for overnight stays. She gets along well with most dogs, and we can absolutely schedule a meet-and-greet beforehand to make sure our pets are a perfect match and everyone is comfortable. When caring for your animals in your home, my priority is keeping them safe and on their usual routine. My 8+ years of experience as a veterinary technician means your pet's health and well-being are always covered, whether they need specialized medication, senior care, or professional monitoring. I treat every animal with the exact same care and attention that I give to my own.

“Raven was fantastic! She was very communicative, sent plenty of pictures, kept the place clean from accidents, and was super professional. I felt completely at ease knowing my cats were in great hands, highly recommend!”

“Arie and Etty took fantastic care of our two dogs over the long weekend! We received frequent updates about and photos of our dogs' activities, and they were happy and well-exercised upon our return.”

“Willow was amazing with my little dogs and my cat. She detailed every minute of each visit it was so nice to know what they were up to when I was away. I will definitely use her again in the future!”

About: I've always had pets of my own as well as taken care of pets that friends, neighbors, and family have asked me to help out with. I love taking dogs out on walks and cuddling new feline friends. I care for any pet just as lovingly as I do my own. I'm figuring out my next move in life and hoping to surround myself with things that make me happy, which definitely includes pets! I’ll be home here in Austin for at least 2-3 months. In my own home, we've always placed importance on our pets being active. If you have a dog that needs to get out on a daily basis or just needs to be played with around the house, I am so happy to be there for those needs. If your cat just loves to be given attention, I'm your girl! Consistency in a pets food and water routine is also a priority. Sending picture updates while you're away is something I love to do.
“Regan did an amazing job caring for my two cats for a week. She sent thoughtful updates with great photos and even got my shy cat to come out and say hi! She offered a meet-and-greet beforehand and was super responsive. 10/10 definitely would love to have her cat sit again.”

“Kinzi is refreshingly professional and dependable. She was thorough during our initial meeting which provided peace of mind while we were gone. Looking forward to hiring her again in the near future!”

“Christine was an absolute delight to communicate with, and we trust her implicitly with caring for our pet dog and cat, both are senior animals who require medication and special attention. Christine was quick to respond to our inquiries, and left thorough notes for each visit. We highly recommend Christine to anyone who needs pet care assistance.”
“I cannot say enough positive things about Claudia! She is very friendly, responsive, accommodating, and took wonderful care of my cat! I will absolutely using her for all future pet care!”

“Alexis R took care of my timid cats and was able to find Indy (the Ghost cat) hiding in a different closet than usual. Alexis is professional and sent pictures of the cats showing that they're in good hands. I'll be using her services in the future.”

About: I’ve grown up around and with dogs and love them all. I’ve cared for them in many ways! :) Family members, friends and neighbors have always allowed me to help with their loving animals! I am currently a college student but my schedule is very flexibile and I am open to working with anyone on anything! I will always be honest with you and treat your pets like my own :) I can provide the best care to my abilities and I am open to any circumstances that may be necessary to provide comfortable care for you and your pets.
About: I have a 3-year-old mini dachshund of my own, but I’ve been caring for dogs since childhood! I have a consistent weekly work schedule and spend part-time in office and the rest from home, so I have more flexibility to drop in and provide walks throughout the week. It also means I have more time at home to spend with my own pup and yours! Previously, I relied on regular daycare and drop-in visits for my own dog, so I know how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your furry one. When your pet is with me, you can trust that I will be giving them plenty of love and affection to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved especially when they’re missing you!! I’m so excited for the opportunity to meet your sweet, perfect pup <3 With my consistent WFH schedule, my pup and I typically enjoy three walks a day, and I’m happy to accommodate your pet’s specific routine, exercise needs, and preferences. Whether your dog loves long walks, frequent potty breaks, playtime, or just some extra cuddles, I’ll make sure they get the attention and care they deserve! I have a puppy-safe apartment and a patio that my dachshund loves to sunbathe on. Safety is always my top priority, so pets are supervised and kept on a leash during walks and potty breaks outside. For drop-in visits, I’ll treat your home with the same care and respect I would want someone to show mine. I’m happy to accommodate your pet’s routine and any reasonable requests. I’ll make sure your pet has fresh water, food, playtime, and plenty of attention, and I’ll ensure they’re safely settled in (whether that means being crated, or comfortable and secure) before I leave.
“Rachel was great! She did a little meet and greet with my cats before the scheduled visit, and kept me updated with messages and picture updates of my babies. She was friendly, chill, and good with my pets- even with my feisty cat who is a tough customer! Definitely will be booking her again in the future, and highly recommend using her for drop ins or longer stays. Thank you!!”

“Evalise was an amazing help when I needed a last minute rover! She made sure to keep clear communications and asked questions. My dog loved her, didn’t get a report about her being anxious around her. Definitely will continue to use her rover services!”

About: My name is Abigail, and I have two dachshunds names Coco and Addie. Addie is 13 years old and Coco is 12. I love my dogs and I know how stressful it feels like to have to leave your babies in someone else's care. I hope to help alleviate some of that stress and to have a good time with your pup! I am available 7 days a week for drop in visits and dog walks or trips to the park. I can also help with medication and wound care on a case by case basis. Please reach out to me if that is something you need help with! While your dogs are with me, I will give them lots of belly rubs and ear scratches, and we will have fun playing together. I will send you pictures and updates of your dogs enjoying themselves during our time together. I am looking forward to having fun with your dogs! Thank you for considering me! I require harnesses for dog walks for my safety and for the safety of your pups as well! If you do not have one of your own, I will use one of mine that I bring with me. Please let me know if your pups are reactive to other dogs or environmental factors (bicycles, skateboards, wheelchairs, etc). This will not prevent me from caring for your pup but will help me care for them better and safer! I am typically available any time on weekdays for drop in visits and walks, and am available 9am-9pm on weekends for drop in visits and walks. If you have needs outside of these hours, please message me and we’ll see if we can work something out! I like to establish trust with your pup with treats and love before we leave for our walk. I’m also happy to just play with them in the home if that is preferred.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lost Creek
Kali accepted a last minute request for sitting my 2 elderly Great Danes and she was excellent. She fed them, played with them, sent me excellent reports on their activities and conditions. Additionally, she did some cleanup and although she didn’t mention it, I’m sure it was significant (Great Danes - need I say more?). I will happily use her again.
Katherine was so great with our girl, Tilly! We had to go out of town last minute and Katherine really helped us out and was quick to respond. Her check-in notes were very detailed and gave me the peace of mind that our kitten was well taken care of during her drop-in visit. Highly recommend Katherine for your furry loved one!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
