Pet care experience
Love, Play, Sleep, Repeat.
What sets me apart from other sitters is that I’ve been caring for dogs for nearly half my life. I truly believe a tired dog is a happy, well-behaved dog. With a large backyard and plenty of space to run and play, I make sure every pup gets the exercise, attention, and fun they deserve while feeling right at home.

Ratings and reviews
We had to book last minute after our original Rover sitter unexpectedly terminated services, so this was our first time using these sitters. At first, everything seemed fine. Each morning I received one set of 3–4 pictures, but that was really the extent of the communication. I’m sure they didn’t want to “bother” us while on vacation, but I personally would have preferred a little more communication throughout the day. When we picked up our dog, I immediately noticed sores on both of his elbows and belly, along with bite marks on his hind leg that were already scabbed over and healing. Our dog has NEVER had sores anywhere on his body before, which made this especially concerning. The bite marks were definitely harsher than what I would consider normal rough-play scratches, but I understand dogs can play rough and things can happen. My issue is that I absolutely would have appreciated being told that he had been injured. There was also never any communication about the sores developing on his elbows or belly. When I asked, I was told his elbows were from “laying on the concrete.” I don’t want to make assumptions about what happened while we were gone, but something about the situation just doesn’t sit right with me. What made me even more uncomfortable was his behavior once we got home. He spent most of the night under our bed and then slept directly on our pillows all night, which is VERY unlike him. We have used many different Rover sitters and have never experienced this lack of communication, physical injuries, or this kind of personality change afterward. I purposely slept on it before leaving this review because I didn’t want to react emotionally or jump to conclusions. But ultimately, I need to trust my gut and leave an honest review of our experience. I’m extremely disappointed that none of these issues were communicated to us during his 9-day stay.

Great experience! My dog was SO excited to come back every day. I know she’s in great hands when I drop her off

My dog had a great time and was well cared for. Got lots of pictures and updates on how he was doing.

This is my second booking with Bassam and I couldn’t be happier! This time he sat for my 9 mo old mix, Stella, for 8 days! I had a last minute family emergency and he graciously offered to keep her for an extra day! Bassam is a passionate dog lover as well as being a fantastic trainer. Stella is a very energetic pup and he’s given me a lot of helpful advice and recommendations as I continue to train her. He sent many photos and updates throughout the week which I really appreciated and I could see that she was having a blast!

Bassam’s home and care for my dog has been exceptional he comes back so happy and tired. I have used Bassam twice and will continue to use him as a trusted sitter all the dogs are well vetted to ensure a safe environment for play and sleeping. He is very responsive and gives great check in pics!

Though we were late in contacting Bassam at the last minute on our trip to Austin, Bassam came through for us. Apawlo had a great time at Bassam 's home We are very happy that we have a go to place in Austin from now on

Schedule
I work from home most of the time, so pet care easily fits into my daily routine. The first thing I do each morning is take the dogs outside for some fresh air and playtime. My roommates and I spend a lot of time in our yard tending to our little homestead, which means the dogs get plenty of attention, exercise, and engagement throughout the day.

Safety, trust & environment
I make sure every pet feels safe, happy, and comfortable while in my care. I keep in touch with owners and share lots of photo updates so they can see their doggos having fun. That way, they can travel or work stress-free, knowing their furry family is in good hands.

A typical day
A typical day starts with some outdoor fun. I have about an acre of land, so the dogs get plenty of room to run and play in the morning for about 45 minutes to an hour before breakfast. After they eat, we relax together in the living room for a couple of hours, then head back outside for another round of playtime. I’ve found that a well-exercised dog is a happy, well-behaved one. By the afternoon, the pets are usually ready to snuggle up and watch TV with me—it’s the perfect way to wind down the day.
