“Chris and Cass were great! Very patient, kind and flexible. As sweet as our pitbull is, sometimes it’s hard to find a sitter because of the stigma that surrounds the breed. They even had our back when our flight was cancelled multiple times, forcing us to extend our dog’s stay. I’ll definitely be rebooking with them when needed and highly recommend them.”

“Suzanne took such wonderful care of my dog, Jax. I would highly recommend her. This was my first time ever using Rover let alone leaving Jax with anyone but a family member. I couldn’t be happier with how well taken care of he was.”

“my dog had a short weekend at their house and they were great with updates! she had some separation anxiety and made sure she felt comfortable throughout the night ❤️”

“Great communication and wobderful with my dog, Stella. It's clear when I pick her up based on her relaxed temperament for at least the following day that she got to play and run off some energy. Highly recommend!”

“Glad to have found Mark and Nadine to watch out Corgi while we are away for a week. They were good about communicating on our overnight test run and made sure our dog felt comfortable around the other dogs they watch. After the trial run I feel more comfortable leaving her with them for the week as I am sure they will provide updates and take good care of our dog!”

“Anthony took great care of our chihuahua Coco and Labrador Ginger. They had a blast playing in the grass and exploring the backyard that was safely fenced. Would definitely have Anthony take care of them again in the future.”

“Shree was a total Gem her and Raul treated Zou like family ! My heart was filled with joy on the way they cared for him . The videos and messages were just enough to keep us engaged on his progress during his stay! He’s a puppy and still in the baby stages which is a lot but they managed him so well!”

“Angelina and her family looked after our Bailey over the past month while we were traveling. As always, they went above and beyond in their care. We received lots of photos and updates throughout Bailey’s stay, which put our minds at ease. It’s clear that Bailey feels really comfortable and enjoys her time with Angelina and her family, including her own dogs. We can’t thank her enough!”

“Kadi was amazing!!! This was Nina’s first boarding experience and we couldn’t have asked for a better one. Kadi was very kind and professional. She kept us informed with pictures and updates throughout Nina’s stay. She even made Nina the cutest bandanna !! My family will be booking with her in the future for sure!!!”

“Jessica is lovely, she was patient and friendly, and sent tons of photos and puppy updates throughout my doggo's stay. Would recommend and will def hit her up for future boarding needs!”

“We felt so comfortable leaving our boys with Bailey & Chase! It’s the longest we’ve been away from them but it was like they were on their own vacation! Such a great yard for playing and they get the best care! So happy to have found a place they love to go and feel comfortable at! ❤️🐶🐕🦺🐾”

“My two Maltese mix dogs just spent 3 days at Sam’s house and I am very pleased with my experience overall. The communication was great- we received multiple pictures & videos of them having a blast in his HUGE fenced-in backyard. I don’t leave my dogs often so it was great staying updated on their daily activities. I will absolutely be rebooking when in need of a sitter in the future. Thanks again!”

“Jess is wonderful. I have engaged her twice to board my American Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Both times issues arose, one was a health issue and another where my flight was cancelled and I needed extra days of care. She cheerfully accommodated the situation and put my mind at ease during a stressful time. She takes great care of Halle, who is a rescue and can be reactive towards other dogs. I usually have to give a lot of instructions for sitters, but not so much with Jess, she just knows what to do. I especially noticed that Halle was more relaxed after staying with Jess. Now that she is used to her, I feel really comfortable leaving Halle with Jess.”

“Carolina was absolutely fantastic! Hazel loved her time there. She was happy and tired (in a great way) when we picked her up. Carolina had excellent communication and took Hazel for a nice walk in the neighborhood, her favorite thing to do. Am definitely using Carolina again!”

“My girls returned for another stay with LaTash. Once again, they had the best time and were well taken care of. I am so blessed to have found a pet sitter like LaTash. I am extremely comfortable with her taking care of my babies!!!”

“We had a very last minute request for boarding and Kerri was able to accommodate us. It was our first time booking and she kept us updated on how he was doing which helped keep our minds at ease.”

“We left our dog two times with Tory and her family already and we will contact them again in the future. Prompt communication, always keep you updated. They took good care of my dog. He always comes back exhausted, which is good.”
“Miranda and Erica provided a truly loving home for Honey. Always a good sign when your dog wants to stay and not get into the car. Having a fenced back yard was a real treat for Honey. But all the cuddles she got was the highlight. We will definitely book again.”

Sam was absolutely amazing with my dog while I was away camping! I felt completely comfortable knowing she was in good hands, which made it so much easier to relax and enjoy my trip. Sam was dependable, caring, and treated her like she was his own. I really appreciate the care and attention he gave her, and I would absolutely trust Sam to watch my Baobao again. Highly recommend!

Jackie cared for my pup, Obie, so well while we were gone! She was extremely responsive, sent tons of pictures ans updates and she went above and beyond to ensure he was comfortable. Will book with Jackie again 1000%! Her dog, Pinky, is also such a sweetheart and very welcoming!

I can’t say enough good things! I have a geriatric dog with respiratory allergies. Shree was able to accommodate the additional care without question. Videos were provided daily and I felt so comfortable with Ruby in Shree’s care. Shree will be my go-to pet sitter moving forward.

Kevin and his wife took great care of my dog while I was away. Kevin was communicative, clear, and kept me informed throughout the stay, which gave me peace of mind. When I picked up my dog, he seemed happy, comfortable, and well cared for. They are both incredibly kind and welcoming people, and it was clear they genuinely care about the dogs they look after. I would definitely recommend Kevin and his wife to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring place to board their dog.

Camille was great with my little Winnie!! After Winnie’s surgery 7 months ago, trusting a sitter to take care of her with her quirks has been tricky. Camille eased all of my concerns and was AMAZING with my lil girl and gave her lots of walks, cuddles and love. Will def be using her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
