“Ruffles is 14 years old and pretty easy-going. They made every effort to try and play with her, settle her in their bed for a nap, etc. They sent videos throughout the day and responded to every communication promptly so that I knew how she was doing and followed up after the visit to tell me how the day went. I’ve already booked two additional visits for a week each.”

“Thanks Adam and Ying! I left Saginaw with them for a quick 48h work trip. They are my go-to sitters for their flexibility and proximity to my home. Saginaw knows them well and is super excited to go see them!”

“Alison and Parmer cared for my scruffy pups for the longest period of time I’ve ever been away from them. They are so well cared-for every time they stay with Alison and Parmer that they don’t even miss me ! LOL THANK YOU for making all my travel worry free.”

“I was nervous because this was the first time I'd left Picasso with someone he didn't know. Ekow was extremely kind and sent updates of a happy dog daily, which made me feel much better. We've found a new sitter and I will definitely be reaching out anytime we need a sitter. Five stars!!”

About: I am an animal lover with years of experience taking care of my own dogs and my friends’ many pets. I love to take long walks or sit and hang with animals if that’s what your pets need. I have had dogs in the house since I was a baby, most of which have been large high-energy dogs, so I can handle the big loud pups. My most recent pet was a high-needs senior dog, so I understand the anxiety that comes along with leaving your pet in the care of someone else. I am happy to take care of any special needs and send updates/pictures to ease your mind. I have a soft spot for seniors. In the summer I work from home on weekdays. I have some flexibility when it comes to being able to take longer breaks as long as I can get all my work time in. I have lots of flexibility during weeknights and weekends! My home: I have a great home for dogs, with lots of open space and a fenced back yard. Since I work from home, I would be able to keep an eye on your pets all day long. I have a partner who is home most weeknights and weekdays as well. We recently lost our senior dog and we would love to fill our house with wags and barks again. Clients home: I have lots of experience pet sitting at friends’ homes, so I can adapt to whatever you need at your home. I am very flexible so if you’re curious about how often I can come over or anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.
“Enaes did a fantastic job handling my very nervous pooch and was very flexible when I was stuck out of town due to the weather. She provided updates and I felt comfortable having Pheo in her care.”

“So kind to my senior pooch. Was always taking photo updates. She spoiled her rotten. I still thinks she wants to go back to Kelly asap for her cuddles and yummy home made food, my girl gets anxious while we're away. She had multiple dogs over and she did great. ? recommend.”

“What an amazing host family! Tanuja took all the appropriate steps to make me and spice feel welcome and comfortable with this being a first time host. We had a meet and greet so both dogs could get comfortable with each other and after that moved towards hosting. She kept me well informed and was very thorough with making sure she had everything to care for spice. I would definitely book again with her in the future and would recommend her to anyone who asked.”

“Sam is attentive and accommodating and you can tell he really cares about the dogs he boards. I am always nervous to board Hana anywhere but with Sam I felt a sense of ease. Based on the consistent and detailed updates, Hana seemed to have a great time! Would definitely book again.”

“angelina was super attentive and consistent with updates. i love all the pictures she sent of mowgli having the best time ever! and he got a ton of exercise with multiple walks a day. angelina is definitely going to be our primary dogsitter from now on.”

“Scraps loves going to Abby's house. He has been there multiple times now, and he always has such a great time. Abby takes great care of Scraps and he loves that he gets to play with her dog Maggie.”

“Gillian was so great with Oliver. She was easy to communicate with and so welcoming. I felt comfortable leaving Oliver with her for the first time. Gillian provided updates and pictures throughout his stay. We look forward to booking with her again! 🐾”

“My first time using Rover, I was a little nervous to leave my precious pup with a random person but Rachel reassured me Stella would be in good hands! Throughout Stella's stay Rachel updated me with various pictures and videos! The pictures and videos were a nice little treat to be able to see Stella even though I was so far away! Overall, I will be using Rachel again if I ever have to leave again! ??”

“Mariana was so communicative and sent tons of photos during our pup’s stay! She also was very flexible with us as our travel plans changed. We would definitely book again! Thanks!”

“Eriann did such a nice job watching Ruby! She took her dog George and Ruby to the dog park and send us photos and a video of Ruby playing and having a great time! Ruby can't wait for the next time she gets to go and hang out with Eriann and George! Thanks Eriann for doing such a great job and for just being you!”

“Jess is awesome! I was going away for the weekend and needed someone to watch my pug, Emma. Jess responded to me in a timely manner and was easy to reach before and while I was gone. She sent me photo and message updates about Emma every day. It was clear that Emma felt super comfortable in her home and had a great time! I highly recommend Jess!”

“Kara was able to accommodate my dog Dobby on really short notice. My dog has really bad separation anxiety and Kara let him sleep in bed with her *cue tears*. Kara was super quick to respond with updates and sent pics. Both Kara and her dog Nellie were welcoming and made him feel so comfortable. Nellie and Dobby played and had so much fun I think he was a little sad when we got home. :P 10/10 would book with Kara and Nellie again!”

“I travel a lot and Rebecca and her husband opened their hearts and home to my blind pup Emmy. Lots of photos and updates. When I picked her up I could tell Emmy had a great time. I'd definitely recommend Rebecca. Thanks again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Royal Oak
This was the first time we left our 6month old puppy and we were so nervous. We shouldn’t have been. Eriann and her puppy were wonderful and Edge had a great time. He has been missing them both since we picked him up. Highly recommended and will book with Eriann again.

Absolutely amazing experience! Meredith was very communicative. She said very good expectations for both me and my dog. Plenty of pictures and photographs were sent. And her small dog was also very sweet. The yard area is a great size and allows for plenty of room for play in a safe environment with plenty of shade. Absolutely we will book again.

It was a pleasure for both me and my girl Dolly to stay with Rhiannon and her 2 beautiful dogs. Dolly had so much fun and fit in perfectly with their "pack". It was Dolly's first time being gone overnight and being boarded and I could not have asked for a better experience for her. Rhiannon showed as much love to Dolly as she does to her own pets (including her cat). Dolly was well cared for. I felt save leaving her with this family.

Whitley and Christian were fantastic! From the moment we met them at the meet and greet, and all through our time away, they were caring and thoughtful individuals. They treated our dog, Eleanor, like their own dog. They were great about posting photos and updates for Eleanor just about every day. We really appreciated the care they gave Eleanor. We would have them dogs sit again for us anytime.

Hannah did a fantastic job watching our dogs this weekend. She kept us updated throughout their stay with messages and photos, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our dogs were well cared for and comfortable, and they absolutely loved their time with her.

Nathan was absolutely fantastic with our three kitties for their short stay at his house. He was extremely friendly, attentive, and has extensive experience caring for cats. Our cats had a dedicated room at his house with enough space to sleep, play, eat, drink, and a window to look outside. This was our first time having our cats boarded at someone’s house and I was a little nervous beforehand, but instantly felt at ease once meeting Nathan and seeing where the cats would be staying. He also provided plenty of pictures and updates throughout the stay. Overall, very happy with the care and attention our cats received. I would 100% board my cats with Nathan again and recommend him to friends and family!

Kara was an amazing dog sitter for Molly! She was very kind, attentive, and kept us updated with daily pictures while we were away. Molly got plenty of walks, car rides, and attention, and she looked like she was having a great time. It gave us peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. We would absolutely use Kara again and highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
