I recently started having a more flexible work schedule, so I am re-opening my profile! I am excited to care for pets around the Metro Detroit area! I took care of dogs, cats, chickens, bunnies, plants, and more for many families in Kalamazoo while in college (on and off of Rover.com)! I love taking dogs for walks, playing with all kinds of pets, and making sure they have all the food and water they need. A few years ago I helped train a puppy and I learned how to entertain highly energetic dogs. When I enter a home I always bond with the animals there!

Emily took great care of our two cats while we were gone! They are a bit shy around strangers, but liked her very much.
Emily took wonderful care of our dogs and was able to administer difficult medications to one of our dogs. She was super communicative and sent pictures of our dogs. I will definitely be using her again when she’s available!

Schedule
I am a mental health therapist for kids and also a swim instructor for kids with disabilities! I am never away from my house for more than a few hours at a time, so I am able to provide attentive care to your pet!

I always use a happy but calmer voice to greet new pets and do whatever I can to make sure they are not afraid, including getting down to their level and allowing them to approach me first. When pets are eating I make sure to give them lots of space. I make going outside to go potty seem like a fun thing that I am inviting them to do. I keep a close eye on pets and prioritize their comfortability to build trust.
A typical day
I love to take pets for walks to explore the outdoors. Exercise is very important and I love seeing how happy pets are when they go outside. My house also has a small fenced backyard for shorter trips outside! I love playing with pets' toys, relaxing with pets, and petting the pet whenever they are near me.
