“Marianne and her family was warm and welcoming to Rocky. She was responsive and went above and beyond in caring for him in my absence. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their furry friends.”

“Audrey was a wonderful catsitter! She is a great communicator, which made coordinating my cat’s stay easy and stress-free. Audrey made sure that my cat was comfortable and safe throughout his stay. I look forward to booking another stay with her!”

“These guys were amazing!! They provided a loving home for my dog while we were away. We received frequent updates, and they treated my dog so well, I was sure she would never want to come home. I cannot recommend Chris and Cassandra highly enough. Through some glitch in the system, they were suggested to me, even though they were a 40 minute drive away. I will ABSOLUTELY be making that 40 minute drive again when my dog needs a sitter.”

“Amanda is the type of care provider we had dreamed of but never thought a person like her existed. Amanda, her husband and their home were all so warm and welcoming. It is so hard to believe that she could be all things, but she was. She was a caregiver to Henry with his special diet and many pills. She was an amazing communicator to me with photos in the morning and evening. And she was a companion and best friend to Henry, who followed her everywhere! All of this made a trip overseas so much less stressful. Amanda didn’t know I was that far away and on a different time zone. She didn’t know the updates she sent helped me get to sleep each night and made me less homesick. Amanda just was being her great self and sharing the fun photos of my dog in her care. It was exceptional! Amanda even took Henry for special walks just because she could tell he liked them. It was probably freezing outside, but she did it to make him happy. Like I said, Amanda is exceptional! My husband and I have had a dog in our life since the day we got married. They were all big dogs and we often had two at the same time. We kenneled them once or twice for short stays, and it was always so obvious when they returned that boarding them was a bad idea. They’d return home with hoarse voices, so it was obvious they were unhappy and barking for long lengths of time. Because two of our dogs were adopted as adults, we have sadly already experienced the loss of three. It took us a full year after the last loss to even consider bringing another dog into our lives. We had a lot of discussions of the pros and cons. One of the cons was that we had no family nearby who could watch a new dog if we ever traveled. I said there must be someone! The pros outweighed the cons and we adopted Henry even though we had nobody to watch him when we traveled. He came with us everywhere for years and became our family. We must have passed through 18 different states with him and a few provinces in Canada. After seeing Amanda and Henry in photos and in real life, now I want to leave town just so they can hang out again. It is so rare to find even family members who love your dog as you do. With Amanda, it was obvious Henry felt loved. He came home so happy and healthy and normal. I look forward to Henry spending time again with Amanda and her husband!”

“Susan did a fantastic job watching our GSP, Missy. Missy is a little anxious & nervous, and Susan knew just how to handle her. Susan provided frequent updates and pictures which assured us she was in good hands. In addition, Susan was graciously flexible with drop off and pickup times since we were working around our DTW flights. Thank you so much Susan! We will definitely consider you again for watching our Missy!”

“Dena was fantastic! Potter had the best time with her and her family. He played hard and was so well loved during his entire stay. Dena also did a great job with updates and photos which we appreciated so much, as it allowed us to get a glimpse into the amazing time potter was having. I couldn’t recommend her and her family enough! THANKS DENA!”

“First of all Grace and Jose are the sweetest kindest person and doggy I have ever met! My dog Jazzy is Pomapoo and has never left my side in 11 years. So we booked a night with Grace to see how it would go and i am over the moon how wonderful she is with him! I am so happy and excited to have found her. She goes out of her way to make him feel ao comfortable. Thank you so much Grace I will never take him anywhere else ?❤❤?”

“My wife is always nervous about leaving our dogs when we travel and is never quite able to relax. However, this time was different. Jess was incredible. She was very diligent about keeping us informed about our two dogs, one of which is a puppy. It was also the first time that our dogs returned home without seemingly being stressed out from the boarding experience. Jess is truly exceptional and we will be booking with her again.”

“Tiffany was fantastic with Odie! She took him on regular walks and kept us updated with messages and pictures throughout his stay. We felt completely at ease knowing he was so well cared for. Highly recommend Tiffany to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

“Allesha is great with our dog Zoey! She’s super accommodating to our schedule and takes wonderful care of Zoey. Zoey gets treated like one of Allesha’s pack and comes home tired and happy ☺️”

“My experience was awesome. This was my first time using Rover and Sogol v made this the best experience ever. She was friendly, showed my pup and myself love. I felt so comfortable because she went above and beyond with her selfless personality. She sent pictures and communicated with me daily. I would recommend her to anyone looking to use this service. You can feel the love she has for animals and people. I can't thank her enough and will use her again.”

“We are so happy to have found Nadine and Mark! They love our dog Toby and treat him as part of their family. He gets regular walks and lots of play time. We always appreciate the updates, pictures and videos they send. This gives us a great sense of peace, knowing he is in GREAT HANDS! We look forward to having Toby stay again very soon.”

“Thanks so much again Rahied! I love how much Jack loves staying with you! Thank you for being so awesome and sending so many pictures and video! It's so wonderful to get pictures of him when we're travelling!! You're the best!”

“Midge enjoyed her time with Karen. She came home happy and adjusted right back to the schedule. Karen always does a great job with Midge’s picky eating. Love sending her somewhere I know she is treated very well!”

“I want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such great care of Donatello! When we adopted him we had already had a family trip planned. We were nervous to find care for him but Anthony took it on with ease! We got so many pictures and videos we felt like we knew where he was at all times and we could see he was enjoying his puppy buddy. Would highly recommend Anthony!!!”

“We had a fantastic experience with Sara watching over our dog for a week. She went above and beyond, providing us with numerous photos and consistently checking in day and night to keep us updated on how he’s doing and photos, which was great to see. He really enjoyed hanging out with Milo, Sara’s dog, who was very sweet and playful! Her notes and communication made us feel at ease throughout our time away… Highly recommend!”

“This is our second time with Sydney and we just love how she takes care of our anxious Mochi. She can get her to loosen up overnight and gives us updates in how she’s settling in. Always love to see the photos of Mochi getting some snuggles. Thanks for everything!”

“Shree was a total Gem her and Raul treated Zou like family ! My heart was filled with joy on the way they cared for him . The videos and messages were just enough to keep us engaged on his progress during his stay! He’s a puppy and still in the baby stages which is a lot but they managed him so well!”

“Megan was nothing short of AMAZING. I have had the opportunity to use many wonderful sitters on Rover over the years but Megan is definitely an 11/10. I could write a novel as to how wonderful our experience was, but I will stick to the highlights; She communicates extremely well, and it is beyond obvious that she loves dogs from the moment you step into her lovely home and you meet her adorable and well trained Hamilton (who my Greyson just adored). She will send you updates throughout your pups stay to not only let you know your pup is in the best hands, but she will also send you the most adorable photos along with those updates to assure you as well. Megan is accommodating, kind, and I can not recommend her highly enough. If you are fortunate enough to book her - DO IT!!”

Jackie cared for my pup, Obie, so well while we were gone! She was extremely responsive, sent tons of pictures ans updates and she went above and beyond to ensure he was comfortable. Will book with Jackie again 1000%! Her dog, Pinky, is also such a sweetheart and very welcoming!

Sydney was everything I could have asked for in a caring pet sitter! She watched my 2 special needs fur babies in her home for 6 days, and I was impressed from the moment she greeted me and welcomed me into her home! Sydney had pre-printed care sheets with my pets' names at the top, and we filled out questions together to get to know their needs and preferences. We did a slow introduction with the other pets that were there, and my babies were able to explore the house and yard in their own time. Sydney offered a pickup and drop-off service, which was very convenient on the days of my flights while traveling. She was responsible for giving medications daily and addressing my pets' comfort and safety. I received text and photo updates and she stayed in communication about how my pets were doing with their medical issues and emotional/social needs. Sydney is a professional and caring person and I highly recommend her services!

I can’t say enough good things! I have a geriatric dog with respiratory allergies. Shree was able to accommodate the additional care without question. Videos were provided daily and I felt so comfortable with Ruby in Shree’s care. Shree will be my go-to pet sitter moving forward.

Kadi is amazing and my sweet little old girly girl, Dolly, just loves her. ❤️ Dolly is 13 and doesn’t ever play with dogs but Kadi sent me pictures of Dolly having the best time playing with her dog. It made me so happy! I will definitely be using Kadi for doggy care the next time we travel.

Sam did an amazing job watching Rouge while I was out of town! This was my first time leaving her with someone through Rover, and he made the entire experience so easy and reassuring. His communication was GREAT! He kept me informed throughout her stay and sent me pictures of Rouge every single day, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. He followed all of the instructions I left for her care and feeding, and I genuinely felt like he treated Rouge as if she were his own dog. His space was also very clean and well kept, which I really appreciated. Rouge was happy, comfortable, and well taken care of when I picked her up. I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience with Rover. I would absolutely book with Sam again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, communicative, and caring to watch their dog!

Camille was great with my little Winnie!! After Winnie’s surgery 7 months ago, trusting a sitter to take care of her with her quirks has been tricky. Camille eased all of my concerns and was AMAZING with my lil girl and gave her lots of walks, cuddles and love. Will def be using her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
