“Ruffles is 14 years old and pretty easy-going. They made every effort to try and play with her, settle her in their bed for a nap, etc. They sent videos throughout the day and responded to every communication promptly so that I knew how she was doing and followed up after the visit to tell me how the day went. I’ve already booked two additional visits for a week each.”

“Enaes did a fantastic job handling my very nervous pooch and was very flexible when I was stuck out of town due to the weather. She provided updates and I felt comfortable having Pheo in her care.”

“Mariana is the first sitter I’ve had on Rover, and she did amazing!!! My Rika girl was in heaven the whole week she was with Mariana and her family. She sent pictures multiple times a day, was extremely responsive, and even took time to start teaching Rika “lay down”. She went above and beyond and Rika was happy and exhausted when I picked her up, will definitely use again!”

“Thanks Adam and Ying! I left Saginaw with them for a quick 48h work trip. They are my go-to sitters for their flexibility and proximity to my home. Saginaw knows them well and is super excited to go see them!”

“Sam is Great! River really looked to enjoy his time with Sam! I received pictures every evening of River enjoying his vacation. I already have my next trip booked with Sam 😊.”

“Really glad that we left Woody and Jessie with Yvette. Her home is like a doggy kindergarten, our babies had so much for with other dogs. Yvette is very responsible and sent us plenti of videos and pictures. Will definitely go back!”

“Kara was amazing. She was quick to respond and took such good care of our senior pup while we were out of town. She was a great communicator, especially when it came to some concerns with our dog while we were gone. We would highly recommend her!”

“Eriann was fantastic! We were very happy with how it went and plan to use her care again in the future. Our dogs got along great and played hard. She was so kind and flexible to keep Nico happy and comfortable on one of his first stays away from home since we adopted him from the shelter.”

“Jess was awesome! She gave me all the info on how things would go while my dog was in her care. She sent me daily updates and alerted me of any issues. We discussed how things went overall when I picked my dog up, and he had a great time. Jess communicates well and I will definitely be asking her to watch my dog again.”

“Rachel took such amazing care of our 7 month old puppy, Bonnie! Her videos were detailed about how she was doing and what activities they would be doing for that day. I never worried about how she was doing because Rachel was so communicative. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is going out of town for dog boarding!”

“Cara was amazing! So responsible, reliable and clearly loving towards our goldendoodle. Received lots of pics and updates and our girl came home happy. We can’t wait til her next visit!”

“We had a great experience boarding our pup with Audrey! He came back happy and healthy, and she gave us updates and pictures throughout and picked him up and dropped him off for us. Would highly recommend!”

“Angelina and her family looked after our Bailey over the past month while we were traveling. As always, they went above and beyond in their care. We received lots of photos and updates throughout Bailey’s stay, which put our minds at ease. It’s clear that Bailey feels really comfortable and enjoys her time with Angelina and her family, including her own dogs. We can’t thank her enough!”

“So happy to have found Gabby to watch our dog. She has excellent and prompt communication. He was clearly in good and loving care for our 8 days away. She and her 2 dogs were the perfect fit for ours and he came home happy and tired :) We also received daily updates with photos from her. We absolutely plan to use her again in the future.”

“We were very pleased with the care that our dog, Rowland, received with Rebecca. She and her family did a great job making our shy pup feel right at home. We received lots of pictures and updates while we were away. We will certainly partner with Rebecca again the next time we are away.”

“What an amazing host family! Tanuja took all the appropriate steps to make me and spice feel welcome and comfortable with this being a first time host. We had a meet and greet so both dogs could get comfortable with each other and after that moved towards hosting. She kept me well informed and was very thorough with making sure she had everything to care for spice. I would definitely book again with her in the future and would recommend her to anyone who asked.”

“Theresia was great with our babies, even when they were out of control she handled them well she kept me updated all the time and was great about picking them up and dropping them off.”

“Gillian was so great with Oliver. She was easy to communicate with and so welcoming. I felt comfortable leaving Oliver with her for the first time. Gillian provided updates and pictures throughout his stay. We look forward to booking with her again! 🐾”

“This was our first time using Rover, and Kelly was happy to meet with me and my dog before we booked. She is so warm and friendly, and her dog Suzie is a such a sweetheart. All on my part, but I did not realize my young dog would have separation anxiety with a very upset stomach, and Kelly handled things like a pro. I called my vet after our stay to see what calming options I could use in the future, and she told me Kelly was an excellent Rover host if she was able to get my dog's stomach back to normal. Kelly went above and beyond, feeding my dog a bland diet and trying home remedies we discussed over the phone to get her back to normal. She sent photos and communicated with me daily. I would absolutely recommend her to others!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pleasant Ridge
Vicki and William were great with Eddie and Gabbie! For their first visit, Vicki was kind, loving, patient, and made sure they were comfortable. After losing our sitter of over 20 years, we feel very happy and grateful to have found Vicki and William. Eddie and Gabbie look forward to spending more time with them.

Rachel did a wonderful job taking care of Sadie, providing lots of enrichment and play every day, and even sending her home with a new bandana and her first painting! Sadie had a really great time socializing with everyone in the daycare and came home happy, healthy, and excited for the next time we go out of town for the weekend 😅 We received frequent pictures, videos, and updates, and nothing but overwhelming joy and excitement at anything related to Sadie or the other temporary residents.

Bea had an awesome time with Maritza, Daniel and Lupe! They provided a clean, safe and fun environment; I felt at such ease knowing Bea was in good hands while I worked. They sent us daily updates with pictures, accommodated to her higher energy levels by walking her multiple times per day and treated her like one of their own. We will definitely be rebooking with them; Bea’s new home away from home.

We can’t thank Whitley, Christine, and Ollie enough for taking such great care of our pup Motley during our vacation. This was our first time using Rover, but after the meet and greet, we felt very comfortable booking the stay. We really appreciated the daily photos and video updates! We were the ones on vacation, but Motley was having a vacation of his own and it was clear he was having a great time. We will definitely book with Whitley again!

This was the first time we left our 6month old puppy and we were so nervous. We shouldn’t have been. Eriann and her puppy were wonderful and Edge had a great time. He has been missing them both since we picked him up. Highly recommended and will book with Eriann again.

It was a pleasure for both me and my girl Dolly to stay with Rhiannon and her 2 beautiful dogs. Dolly had so much fun and fit in perfectly with their "pack". It was Dolly's first time being gone overnight and being boarded and I could not have asked for a better experience for her. Rhiannon showed as much love to Dolly as she does to her own pets (including her cat). Dolly was well cared for. I felt save leaving her with this family.

Hannah did a fantastic job watching our dogs this weekend. She kept us updated throughout their stay with messages and photos, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our dogs were well cared for and comfortable, and they absolutely loved their time with her.

Nathan was absolutely fantastic with our three kitties for their short stay at his house. He was extremely friendly, attentive, and has extensive experience caring for cats. Our cats had a dedicated room at his house with enough space to sleep, play, eat, drink, and a window to look outside. This was our first time having our cats boarded at someone’s house and I was a little nervous beforehand, but instantly felt at ease once meeting Nathan and seeing where the cats would be staying. He also provided plenty of pictures and updates throughout the stay. Overall, very happy with the care and attention our cats received. I would 100% board my cats with Nathan again and recommend him to friends and family!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
