As a retired teacher, I have no routine! That’s the beauty of retirement. I have the time to just devote to your fur baby and their interests and needs.

I have a fully fenced in yard as well as cameras that track the backyard. I like to offer our guests lots of personal attention. I am a grandparent and it’s like being a pup grandparent. I get to enjoy their company. Spoil them with attention and cuddles then send them home! We have plenty of dog bowls that are sanitized daily as well as dog bedding if you prefer to use ours. Also, sanitized after each dog’s visit. We are also insured and CPR trained.

Information Susan H. would like to know about your pet
If your dog has any special needs, I need to be sure I am a good fit. We are selective who we take. I have had my own dog in the past with special needs but there are different levels of this. I can administer medications; however, I will not administer fluids through drip IV. It’s not that I haven’t done it, but a dog with that level of needed care should not be boarded except by medical professionals.
A typical day
We begin our day by going out to potty and then breakfast is served. Next, we listen to some doggie music to let food settle. Weather and interest permitting, we go outside to play or sun bathe when warm. Get lots of cuddles. Enjoy just hanging out like they do at home.

Pet care experience
Loving, Personalized Pet Care in a Cozy Home Environment. Heading out of town? Have an event in town? Whether you're taking a well-deserved vacation, traveling for business, or dealing with an unexpected trip, finding the right care for your dog can be a challenge. Kennels may be easy to find, but they often lack the comfort and attention your dog is used to. That's where home-based dog boarding makes a difference—offering a crate-free, relaxed alternative that can truly enhance your dog’s experience while you're away. _________________________________ Meet Your Pet's Caregiver I’m so glad you stopped by. I’m a former teacher, experienced travel professional, and lifelong animal lover. Over the years, I’ve rescued, fostered, and cared for many dogs and cats—and today, I share my home with Lola, a 5 lb. ball of fluff and personality. I’m home all day, offering a calm and nurturing environment, along with lots of personalized care. Whether we’re soaking up the sun outside or relaxing indoors, your dog will be safe, loved, and spoiled like one of my own. No scheduled times for outside here. We encourage our pup guests to go outside as much as they like. Our guests go out multiple times a day, whether it is to go potty or to romp outside and enjoy the outdoors. They are never unsupervised. _________________________________ A Home Away from Home Imagine dropping your dog off at a busy kennel—strange smells, loud noises, and an unfamiliar routine. Even the most easy-going dogs can feel overwhelmed. In my home, your pup becomes part of the family. Instead of being confined to a crate, they’re free to explore, nap on the couch, relax in a sunny spot, or play in the yard. I work to maintain your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible—whether that’s daily nap schedules, or feeding times—helping them feel safe, comfortable, and at ease. _________________________________ One-on-One Attention Unlike kennels, which often house many dogs at once, I care for a very small number of pets to ensure that each one receives the attention and love they deserve. Your dog won't be just another guest—they'll be a temporary member of the family. Most importantly, I’m a dog owner myself, and I understand the little things that matter: a favorite toy, a certain feeding bowl, or a bedtime cuddle. It’s these details that help reduce stress and anxiety, and make your pet feel truly at home. In essence, it's like visiting grandma and grandpa's house. We love on them. Spoil them and then send them home! _________________________________ Less Stress, More Comfort Kennels can be chaotic: barking dogs, confined spaces, and unfamiliar caretakers. That’s a lot for any dog to handle. In contrast, home-based boarding offers a peaceful environment where your dog has room to move freely, play on their own terms, and rest when they choose. There are no crates here—unless requested for crate-trained pups. Your dog will enjoy a fully fenced backyard, supervised outdoor time, and cozy indoor spaces that feel like home. _________________________________ Small Guest List, Big Attention To provide the highest quality care, I only accept: • Up to 3 small dogs at a time • 1 larger dog (up to 50 lbs.) or 2 from same family. We do not mixed with small dogs unless all owners approve. This allows me to maintain a calm, focused environment without overcrowding. Please note: • All dogs must be spayed or neutered and fully potty trained • I do not currently accept Pit Bulls or Rottweilers (this may change in the future) • While my profile may say dogs up to 100 lbs., I currently accept dogs up to 50 lbs. _________________________________ Why Pet Owners Trust Me • ✅ CPR Certified (American Red Cross) • ✅ Insured through PCI Pet Insurance—trusted by professionals for over a decade • ✅ Private & Secure – I never share photos or videos publicly. All updates are sent directly to you with a personalized “report card” • ✅ Flexible & Detail-Oriented – I follow your dog’s home routine to keep them comfortable _________________________________ Before You Book 📅 Meet & Greet Required Please bring proof of vaccinations, vet documentation, or a Titer Test (RNATT), and let me know which flea/tick prevention you use. 📌 Important Policy Info If you need to cancel, please do so at least 3 days before your booking to avoid Rover’s 50% late cancellation fee. _________________________________ Let’s Connect! With genuine love, close attention to detail, and a calm home environment, I aim to be your dog’s second home—and your first choice when you travel. Ready to book or schedule a Meet & Greet? I can't wait to meet you and your furry friend! _________________________________

Susan was amazing! She and Alan took great care of our dog and provided frequent updates. They played with him and gave him a lot of love. We will definitely bring our dog back!

Susan and Alan were amazing! Louie was well cared for while we were gone. I didn’t worry about him at all while gone. So happy to have found Susan and Alan!

Susan and her husband took amazing care of our 2 dogs, Rosie and Barley, last week while we were on vacation in California. We received pictures and updates regularly, and we knew that they were in kind hands in their home, and enjoying the backyard romps! Thank you so much, Susan!

Our two pups enjoyed their recent stay with Susan and her husband very much. They’re very nice people and we never doubted that our dogs were being well cared for and getting lots of love. We received daily reports, lots of pictures and prompt replies anytime we checked in. It was a great overall experience and we definitely plan to use them again. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe, loving environment for their dogs.
