“We are new to the area and finding a good dog sitter is always a bit stressful. Kadi put me and my dog, Phoebe, at ease almost immediately upon meeting her. She is friendly, welcoming, and truly cares! Kadi asked important questions about my dog to ensure the boarding was tailored to Phoebe's needs. Throughout her stay, we received updates and pictures that gave us peace of mind that Phoebe was not an after thought, but part of the family!”

“We have two needy doggos and Kayla was amazing with them! They returned happy, healthy, and very sleepy! She even helped continue our leash training for our Theo who doesn’t do well on walks. We felt so good about leaving our pups with her. So happy to have found her!! Thank you Kayla!!”

“Great communication, took really good care of Blue while I was away for two weeks, and I appreciated the daily photos too. Will definitely come back for the next time we need a long term dog sitter!”

“Veronica did a wonderful job taking care of my dog-Rosie! Our meet and greet was friendly, welcoming, and personable. Veronica is very knowledgeable with dogs and asked all the right questions. She definitely made sure that I was comfortable with her care before I dropped off my fur baby! Her communication was outstanding as well. Everyday I was given updates with photos and videos along with Rosie’s daily progress. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a dog sitter. I will be rebooking Veronica when I need someone in the future. Thank you again!”

“My dog had the best time with Hali! She is a good communicator and kept me updated frequently. Her dogs are so cute and sweet and she has a lovely safe space for the dogs. So grateful my dog had her while I was on vacation!”

“Enaes did a fantastic job handling my very nervous pooch and was very flexible when I was stuck out of town due to the weather. She provided updates and I felt comfortable having Pheo in her care.”

“This is the first time Raheid cared for my kitty Dartagnan & he was wonderful! Lovely place to explore & excellent management of foods & medication & sent some very cute pictures. Raheid let Dartagnan try his cat’s dry food & discover a new preference, was extremely kind & understanding when I asked to extend visit, & even gave him a complimentary bath! Highest recommendation for a safe, caring, & happy visit for your pet.”

I can take pets for walks and runs in the morning, afternoon, and evening happily! I could also pop by during the day if in town

About: I had a dog aggressive dog for six years and it was always hard to find a sitter. We want to make sure other people can find a place for their dog where they will be comfortable and the owners can enjoy their time away without worry. We are home starting Thursday evening and would be available to take care of your doggie so it will feel comfortable. We can take your dog on walks and because we have the weekend off we can spend as much time as needed to make your pet feel loved. Together we have experience walking a dog reactive dog in the UP and Detroit where anything could happen at a moments notice. We understand how important it is to avoid triggers, and what to do to help you dog when it's unavoidable. We also have experience with old dogs who need medicine and low impact play time as well as anxious dogs who aren't sure what's going on.
“I gave the wrong time for my flight and Lauren was very flexible and kept my pup 5 extra hours then dropped him off in the rain. Super reliable sitter and my dog loves her.”

“Absolutely the best! Kerri lived my Diesel as he were her own furbaby. Amazing daily updates and pictures. I will definitely use Kerri’s loving on Diesel while mommy away again! He looked happy!”

About: I've taken care of both cats and dogs for my entire life. From elderly beagles to pitbulls with no concept of their own size, I love them all! I'm experienced with special needs pets, having personally taken care of pets who are blind and deaf; who have FIV, FeLV and CKD; and who are missing teeth and tail. I am familiar with giving meds orally (both pill and syringe form), taking care of sick pets, and monitoring symptoms. You know what your pet needs, and I always make sure quality care is given in your absence! Please note I will likely use my own handless leash for safety purposes. I am comfortable working with reactive dogs and dogs with prey drives. However, it is crucial that you inform me of any behavior issues beforehand. Owners who are not upfront with behavior issues risk being dropped as clients. If booking times are flexible, please let me know. This helps me book you faster and allows us to start conversations about your pet's needs earlier. Please only book with me when you know what days and times I am needed. Open requests block times in my calendar, so booking in a timely manner is very important. If you would prefer to boom after the meet & greet, that is absolutely okay! Please just let me know upon scheduling the meet and greet. I am currently available mornings, and nights M-F and all day weekends. I typically visit 7-7:45am on weekday mornings and 4-7pm weekday nights. I make visits all day on weekends. I am happy to accommodate specific medication schedules upon request. Starting June 15th, I will be available 7am-9pm all seven days of the week. Starting June 15th, I will be opening slots for clients who wish for their dogs to join me on hikes or long walks (3+ hours) at dog-friendly hiking spots in Michigan. Owners will be charged the housesitting rate, and will be expected to prepare treats, meals, and water for their dogs. If you are interested in reserving a spot or speaking about specifics, please book an overnight stay so we can chat. I aim to respect your home and leave it cleaner than I found it! I'm happy to clean pet bowls, vacuum pet beds, etc. If possible, please provide the name of your home internet and password. This saves time when I am sending you cards, questions, or other updates! For housesitting clients, I aim to send two updates minimum during the morning and afternoon/early evening. If you would prefer to have more or less updates, please let me know!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Highland Park
Yelitsa did such a wonderful job with our dog Mia! I received so many updates, at least 2 a day. She did well with administering my dog’s daily medication and keeping up with our regular feeding schedule in her home. Overall, my dog looked super happy every day and Yelitsa went above and beyond with exercise, treats and play time. We will definitely be booking with her again and I’d recommend her to anyone in need of pet sitting!

We can’t thank Whitley, Christine, and Ollie enough for taking such great care of our pup Motley during our vacation. This was our first time using Rover, but after the meet and greet, we felt very comfortable booking the stay. We really appreciated the daily photos and video updates! We were the ones on vacation, but Motley was having a vacation of his own and it was clear he was having a great time. We will definitely book with Whitley again!

This was my pup's first stay with Sofia, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She sent frequent updates and photos throughout the holiday weekend, which really helped me relax knowing my girl was happy and well cared for. Sofia's communication was excellent, and I truly appreciated the care and attention she gave my pup. I'd absolutely book another stay and highly recommend her!

Kira's been our rover since we moved to Detroit, and our dog's hung out with her and her dog many times at this point. Our dog clearly loves staying over, which is rare for her, and it speaks to Kira's ability to care for animals and be responsible and present. Will continue to trust her with my dog for as long as she's willing!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
