About: I am an animal lover with years of experience taking care of my own dogs and my friends’ many pets. I love to take long walks or sit and hang with animals if that’s what your pets need. I have had dogs in the house since I was a baby, most of which have been large high-energy dogs, so I can handle the big loud pups. My most recent pet was a high-needs senior dog, so I understand the anxiety that comes along with leaving your pet in the care of someone else. I am happy to take care of any special needs and send updates/pictures to ease your mind. I have a soft spot for seniors. In the summer I work from home on weekdays. I have some flexibility when it comes to being able to take longer breaks as long as I can get all my work time in. I have lots of flexibility during weeknights and weekends! My home: I have a great home for dogs, with lots of open space and a fenced back yard. Since I work from home, I would be able to keep an eye on your pets all day long. I have a partner who is home most weeknights and weekdays as well. We recently lost our senior dog and we would love to fill our house with wags and barks again. Clients home: I have lots of experience pet sitting at friends’ homes, so I can adapt to whatever you need at your home. I am very flexible so if you’re curious about how often I can come over or anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.
“My dog had the best time with Hali! She is a good communicator and kept me updated frequently. Her dogs are so cute and sweet and she has a lovely safe space for the dogs. So grateful my dog had her while I was on vacation!”

“AC was so nice. Updated me daily and quickly on Charlie. Charlie got along with their dogs and had a wonderful time in their backyard. Can’t wait for them to watch Charlie again.”

About: I grew up with many different animals at home and I loved to take care of them and play with them. I also had dogs and was able to breed and enjoy 12 puppies. I also take care of my neighbors two dogs when they go on vacation or extended weekends. Now I have a Doberman for the last 6 years and she is a smart and loving companion and I trained her to be a service dog. I know how to respond if your furry friend should get sick and have great contacts to a veterinarian hospital. I left corporate world in December last year and are now enjoying retirement. I will have plenty of time to accommodate and play with your furry friend. I have a single family home with fenced in yard to accommodate your dog and to play with Piper, my 6 year old Doberman girl.
“Gave us regular updates and helped make what was a chaotic weekend for me and my girlfriend, a nice peaceful getaway with no worries. Can’t thank them enough!”

“Rachel is truly a godsend! It’s never easy for us to leave our sweet boy, but knowing that he’s with Rachel and his dog friends gives us the utmost peace of mind while we’re away. With Rachel, we know he gets plenty of outside time, enrichment activities, romps with his buddies, and of course, lots of pets! I have yet to meet someone as caring and thoughtful as she is, and we all (especially our pup!) are so happy we found her. Thank you, Rachel!”

“Sam was great! I received constant updates and pictures. My dog is often very anxious after boarding and this time she wasn't, which tells me that she was very comfortable and well cared for during her stay. I'll definitely be using Sam again!”

“Lavina is great!!! This was my second time taking my 3 Yorkie girls to Lavina for boarding. The girls enjoyed themselves and were well taken care of. I received updates and photos throughout the day. I would definitely allow them to stay again!!!”

“My dog stayed here for several days and had a wonderful time. Mou & Yanling were caring, communicative. I really appreciated the videos updates. Highly recommend!”

“Great overall! She communicates (sometimes a bit often), but you can tell it’s in her caring nature. She was able to go to rescue my baby after a Rover sitter left him home alone while I was out of town due to an “emergency”. Beverly was there step by step and I wouldn’t know what I would’ve done without her stepping in to get a ride to my place, pack him and his things, and take him in for boarding. She sent me pics and videos to ensure he was well taken care of. I would book with her again!”

About: Hello! My pet experience consists of having my own doggy for the past 20 years. I rescued my older dog and then got a new puppy. My old Rose passed away but I had to give her eye medication and oral medication everyday so I am comfortable with that. I also grew up with family dogs and cared for those dogs. My availability to watch your dog is very flexible. I work from home a most days a week so it is a high chance that I could work from home while caring for your pup. I am a very caring person. I have a PhD in human development and family science and work in the social work field. I have a giant heart and would love to care for your doggie! As a stay-at-home worker, pet care naturally fits into my daily routine. I’m home throughout the day, which allows me to provide consistent attention, timely feedings, regular potty breaks, and plenty of play and cuddle time. My flexible schedule means I can easily accommodate pets’ needs, whether that’s sticking to a specific routine or being available for spontaneous walks and care. Being home also helps me monitor behavior closely and respond quickly to any changes, making pets feel secure, loved, and well looked after. Whether caring for pets in my home or a client’s, I prioritize creating a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment tailored to each animal’s needs. In my home, pets have access to cozy rest areas, regular outdoor time, and plenty of affection and play throughout the day. I maintain a calm, clean space and follow any routines or special instructions provided. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and stick closely to the pet’s established schedule to minimize stress. I provide regular updates, ensure fresh food and water, maintain cleanliness, and give each pet the love and attention they’re used to.
“Tara and her family were great! I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with them. She sent me daily photo and video updates, and was very accessible to communicate with. I felt like my dog was in excellent care. I didn't worry about my dog at all and was able to relax and enjoy my trip knowing he was in good hands. I felt like I found my Rover go-to person with Tara and will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Veronica was simply amazing! From start to finish; Excellent communication, very attentive and transparent with expectations. Home very neat and clean and kept us updated daily with adorable pics and videos of T3ddy (Teddy) having a great time. I felt our pup was in a safe, warm, clean loving environment. Veronica is highly recommended that your fur baby will be respected and cared for.”

“Jess is wonderful. I have engaged her twice to board my American Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Both times issues arose, one was a health issue and another where my flight was cancelled and I needed extra days of care. She cheerfully accommodated the situation and put my mind at ease during a stressful time. She takes great care of Halle, who is a rescue and can be reactive towards other dogs. I usually have to give a lot of instructions for sitters, but not so much with Jess, she just knows what to do. I especially noticed that Halle was more relaxed after staying with Jess. Now that she is used to her, I feel really comfortable leaving Halle with Jess.”

“This was the first time we left our 6month old puppy and we were so nervous. We shouldn’t have been. Eriann and her puppy were wonderful and Edge had a great time. He has been missing them both since we picked him up. Highly recommended and will book with Eriann again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Park
I don’t have enough positive words to say about Rachel. We had to find a sitter last minute for fourth of July weekend and thankfully Rachel had room for my Bear. She treated him with all of the kindness and love that we, his parents, treat him with. We got daily updates of him with the other pups, enjoying homemade treats, and even a craft he made. She truly went above and beyond and we feel so lucky to have found her. Besides being an amazing sitter, she’s an amazing human- fostering and giving love to pups and cats who don’t have any. She deserves all of the best and we can’t wait to see her again.

Absolutely amazing experience! Meredith was very communicative. She said very good expectations for both me and my dog. Plenty of pictures and photographs were sent. And her small dog was also very sweet. The yard area is a great size and allows for plenty of room for play in a safe environment with plenty of shade. Absolutely we will book again.

Kara was an amazing dog sitter for Molly! She was very kind, attentive, and kept us updated with daily pictures while we were away. Molly got plenty of walks, car rides, and attention, and she looked like she was having a great time. It gave us peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. We would absolutely use Kara again and highly recommend her!

This was my first time using Rover for my kitten and I was fortunate to leave her in Anna’s capable hands. She kept me updated during the entire stay and provided great care and attention to my 5 month old. I could see just by photos and videos how comfortable my cat was with her. I had reservations for any sitter, but I was a winner with Anna! I would highly recommend.

Anna was a wonderful pet sitter. Ozzy stayed with her for the first time for 3 days and he truly didn’t want to leave. He genuinely missed Anna and her dog when we took him home. She sent multiple pictures each day so that I could see how content he was. I will definitely be booking Anna again and highly recommend her.
Whitney is the absolute best dog sitter. She watches my baby like she would her own, and my pup gets along so well will her doggo :) She has amazing communication, sends videos, let’s me play voice notes for my pup and makes she I know she’s not just alive and well, but happy and better than ever. We call Whitney’s house “Summer Camp” for Winnie and she’s so excited to go every time!

Gillian is the absolute best! Took exceptional care of our dog while we were away and really went above and beyond to ensure his happiness. Sent us great updates and we felt so comfortable and thankful to have him in such good hands while we were away. Could not be happier or recommend her more highly.

Hannah took amazing care of my two cats..one of whom is a kitten. This was my first time using Rover and my first time ever having to board a pet...she is absolutely the best person I could have chosen. I was gone for 6 nights and she sent pictures and updates daily. We did a meet and greet in her home before my trip so I could see how they react to her and see where I'd be leaving them. They loved her and I could tell how comfy they were when I came to pick them up. If you are looking for a sitter who will love your cats like her own, Hannah is one of the nicest, kindest people out there.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
