“Rahied took amazing care of our puppy, Coco! We had a last-minute non-pet friendly trip come up and he was able to accommodate our request of having her stay in his home within twelve hours of booking. We had contacted him the previous evening in case our possible sitter fell through. It was her first time being away from us and we were all very anxious. Rahied put our minds at ease as he is extremely kind and communicative. He responded very quickly to messages through the app. He was also very understanding when our puppy had an accident in his house. She's completely potty trained but I will only go potty in our backyard usually, almost never going when we are on walks. Rahied continue to take her out frequently in his yard and walks to try to get her to go. He showed genuine care and concern for her which was reassuring to us that we had made the right choice entrusting him with our puppy's care. Coco even came home with a new toy that she apparently grew attached to while at Rahied's house. She came home happy like she had a great time! We would definitely recommend Rahied!”

“Cody was so great with our golden retriever, Snoop! His dog seemed to get along well with Snoop and it was great to know he was in a good environment being well taken care of!”

“Bee was super happy to see me when I picked her up but not “oh my god get me out of here “. Audrey is her new buddy and next time we travel they’ll get another hang. ❤️”

About: Caring for dogs has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, and other pets, so understanding their personalities and needs comes naturally. I've walked and cared for rescue dogs with a wide range of temperaments and energy levels at the dog shelter I've volunteered in. I've also dog sat for friends and family over the years, and have even helped care for Rover clients' dogs on behalf of friends who were sitters. These experiences have taught me how important it is to provide not just basic care, but patience, consistency, and lots of affection. I treat every dog as if they were my own, whether they love long walks, energetic playtime, or simply relaxing with good company. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving owners complete peace of mind through reliable care and regular updates. I'm employed full-time, but I have a flexible hybrid work schedule and can work from home when needed to provide attentive care for your pup. Pet care is a priority in my daily routine, and I intend to make time for walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention. An added bonus is that my wife, who's an even bigger dog lover than I am and has owned dogs throughout her life, is home during the day. That means your pup will have extra companionship, supervision, and lots of affection while staying with us. On weekends, we're both home and can dedicate our full attention to keeping your dog active, happy, and comfortable. The best care comes from keeping pets comfortable by following the routine they're already familiar with. I'll stick to your feeding schedule, walking routine, potty breaks, playtime, bedtime, and any special instructions you provide. If your dog has medications, dietary restrictions, or favorite toys and activities, I'll make sure those needs are met. I enjoy playing with dogs, going on walks, and making sure they get both physical activity and time to relax. I also know how reassuring updates can be, so I'll send regular photos and messages so you can see how your pet is doing while you're away.
“Chris was great! On time, friendly, and Bertie was happy as a clam when I got home. Event with a short notice, communication was clear and I was able to leave my home without worry. Thanks Chris!”
“What an amazing host family! Tanuja took all the appropriate steps to make me and spice feel welcome and comfortable with this being a first time host. We had a meet and greet so both dogs could get comfortable with each other and after that moved towards hosting. She kept me well informed and was very thorough with making sure she had everything to care for spice. I would definitely book again with her in the future and would recommend her to anyone who asked.”

“Our two pups enjoyed their recent stay with Susan and her husband very much. They’re very nice people and we never doubted that our dogs were being well cared for and getting lots of love. We received daily reports, lots of pictures and prompt replies anytime we checked in. It was a great overall experience and we definitely plan to use them again. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe, loving environment for their dogs.”

“Lindsay was wonderful and we were so lucky to have booked our dog with her. Chloe developed a UTI that Lindsay was able to recognize based on her symptoms. She monitored her throughout the night and took her to our vet as soon they opened in the morning. We were so thankful that she was so knowledgeable, observant, and caring. She allowed us to have peace of mind during our vacation. We will definitely choose Lindsay to have Chloe stay again.”

About: Whether your pet stays with me or I care for them in your home, your dog (s) will receive the same level of care I give my own pets—fresh food and water, regular meals, exercise, playtime, affection, and close attention to their individual needs. Further, I have experience with administering medicine such as eye drops, ingestible liquids/pills, and shots. My goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, loved, and well cared for while you're away, giving you peace of mind that they're in capable hands. I’ve been surrounded by furry friends my entire life! When I was a kid, my family had two dogs along with other animals, providing me with a foundation for loving and caring for pets. Since then, family and friends have trusted me to provide pet care services including pet sitting- feeding, play, and providing overnight company. I have 24 years of experience with small and medium sized dogs. Care for dogs is my only profession, allowing me to give your dog my full attention. My home is safe, welcoming, and open, and my friendly dog loves having dog visitors to play with. Your dog will be free to roam my home- welcome on the furniture- and have plenty of space to run in my large fenced in yard. Additionally, I am located near the heart of Dowtown Royal Oak for dogs who are excited by people and other dogs, as well as several parks with open spaces within walking distance. I currently have a four dog limit for boarding and pet sitting. I’m home full time, so I’m able to provide pets care with my full attention. Whether morning, afternoon, or night I’m available round the clock to fit you and your pets schedule and needs. I’m happy to provide care in your home or mine! My home is safe, welcoming, and cat-friendly, and my friendly dog loves having canine visitors to play with. I have a large fenced in yard dogs both small and big can enjoy and many local parks within walking distance!
“Amazing communication and care of our dog! We got photos and videos daily and she had so much fun. She loved playing with their dog Mun and was sad to leave. They even taught her some tricks. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a rover.”

“Megan and her boys were amazing with my older pup, Brady! They gave him tons of cuddles and walks and frankly spoiled him. Megan is very communicative and sends tons of updates and photos. Thank you!”

“Hali was amazing with my dog! I felt very comfortable leaving him in great hands, and Hali was sure to provide lots of updates and pictures. My dog made fast friends with her pups and came home absolutely exhausted so I know he got in lots of playtime and will be excited to go back!”

“We were so happy with all aspects of working with Rebecca. From communicating with her about our booking, our meet and greet, to the care and love she gave our dog while we were away, everything was easy and wonderful. Rebecca is a gem!”

“Karina’s daughter said the best thing she loved about my dog was the way he smiled! I loved the fact that he was comfortable enough on his first stay to smile! We’ll have our dog stay with Karina and family again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clawson
Angelina took wonderful care of my labradoodle for 4 nights in July. She was very gracious to accept a last minute reservation when my plans suddenly changed. My dog was spoiled with multiple walks per day while staying with Angelina. My dog is a finicky eater and also a little tentative around other dogs but Angelina handled both situations with compassion and flexibility. She sent numerous photos and updates so I never had any doubt that my dog was well cared for. She was extremely responsive to texts and inquires. I will definitely use her as a sitter again.
Christine was fabulous and we'll definitely contact her in the future. We went on a 10-day trip and it was nice to feel comfortable and enjoy the trip because we knew both our pups were in great hands. She sends tons of pictures and updates, which we loved and appreciated. She was especially attentive to detail with our older dog who is almost 13. She spoiled them with walks daily and healthy carrots treats. I cannot speak more highly of this sitter.

Home away from Home 💜 Between Linda and her family especially her daughter, Our Daisy was not only lovingly cared for but they made Daisy part of their family even be it for a short time. We chose Linda knowing that there were closer Pet sitters to our house yet drove all the way from Belleville to Linda. Her previous reviews and Pics made us choose her above anyone else for our Daisy . Daisy our Little Diva needed lots of belly rubs and attention and Linda delivered that and much more . Her daughter spoiling Daisy was definitely a Bonus. We Will without a doubt lean on Linda’s services again for sure in the future . 💜
Vicki and William were great with Eddie and Gabbie! For their first visit, Vicki was kind, loving, patient, and made sure they were comfortable. After losing our sitter of over 20 years, we feel very happy and grateful to have found Vicki and William. Eddie and Gabbie look forward to spending more time with them.

Sarah was amazing with Maple! He felt completely at home, sleeping by her side and staying calm during the fireworks. She was also incredibly sweet and flexible with communication and timing when our flight got delayed. Maple had a blast playing with her dogs, especially Daisy. We will absolutely book with her again!

She was a great sitter! She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. She was very attentive to my dog’s needs, and when she had questions or concerns, she didn’t hesitate to reach out. It was clear she genuinely cared about my dog and made sure she was well taken care of. I highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
