Being an esthetician I have a lot of downtime between appointments & I have the flexibility to be available for a pet. Having a pup to care for really brings me joy & ensures I get a break from my work throughout my day! My husband loves playing w/dogs too and had a regular routine w/our Cavalier before he passed this July.

We always made sure to give our pups quality time. Before my husband & I would head to work for the day we gave our pup morning playtime w/both of us, He LOVED it, Also we would give them daily walks and or snuggle during their nap time.

We would like to know how they are on a leash. For example do they react negatively to seeing other dogs on a walk? Or do they tend to bark excessively when seeing other dogs through a window? Do they have a tendency to chase squirrels? If they have separation anxiety what works to soothe them? Are they allowed to chew on bully sticks? ** UPDATE** we’ve started the process of adopting a new pup!! Beginning in August we will only be accepting social pups. If you’re a previous Rover client that has a dog that prefers to be the only dog in the home, check in with/us to see if we’ve added a new pup to our family. We’ll be happy to accommodate if we haven’t.**
A typical day
We have accrued quite a few dog toys over the years. We both enjoy playing tug, or taking our pups for walks. We have a huge yard so we often would play fetch out there. I have a fun treat game that my Senior dog LOVED to play every night which helps with mental stimulation. It helps the pup have a sense of accomplishment.

Pet care experience
Over the years of owning dogs of my own, I've gotten pretty good at reading their body language and anticipating their needs ( & sometimes behavior). Prior to the passing of our beloved Cavalier we knew he couldn't walk up or down the stairs so we carried him and covered our hardwood floors to make it easier for him to get around. His comfort took presidence above our own.

Alison and Parmer cared for Max like he was their own! Communication was outstanding, Alison sent pictures and updates per my request. I knew Max was getting the attention and love he would have at home which allowed us to travel without worry. We’re grateful he was in such good care!
