“Robert was very great to watch my dogs. He took them out for walks very often and took great care of them. Would hire him again for sure and recommend him to anyone who asks me about a pet sitter:)”

“Taylor was a wonderful pet sitter. Took great care of my anxious dog and cat, staying overnight at our house for most of a week. Followed instructions to a T with my dog’s medication and needs for going outside. Left the house clean and in great shape. Would have her back anytime we need pet sitting.”

“Kateri (Rebekah) was amazing to work with! She was on time, did regular check-ins and left our home as she found it. I would definitely use her again and would not hesitate to recommend her to anybody looking for a reliable excellent pet sitter!”

“Larry took great care of my dog while I was away. He was reliable, communicative, and made sure everything went smoothly. It was clear my dog was well cared for and comfortable. I really appreciated his help and would be happy to book with him again in the future.”

“Lindsay was an excellent dog sitter for our two pups. She was very responsive when asked any questions and kept us updated over the course of her stay. I would highly recommend booking her services.”
“Gracie was absolutely amazing with our two pups! We were given updates and pictures all throughout the day and never had to worry about a thing when we were out of town. We have used this service a lot and haven’t had anyone that can hold a candle to how great Gracie was! Will definitely be calling her again in the future!”

About: I have taken care of pets since I was 10 years old, large and small I’ve pretty much done it all. I have taken care of dogs from small to extra large over the years as well as rabbits, chickens and pigs growing up. I work full-time from home Monday through Fridays, so I am available throughout the day as needed. I am also a part-time graduate student taking classes online. I will take care of your pet as directed and keep the home clean and maintained while away. I am on top of cleaning up any mess as soon as I notice it and make sure it appears as if it was never there because accidents do happen.
“Genevieve was so great with our dogs. She made sure to understand our dogs needs beforehand, was very communicative while we were away, and sent tons of pictures. Highly recommend!”

“Kenna did a great job with our energetic puppy! She was communicative, kept the house super clean, and was overall a joy to work with. My dog loved playing with her pup! This was our first time leaving our puppy so it was such a relief not having to worry! I love that she stayed overnight- it made things much easier. She walked the dog everyday and I could tell my dog was so happy (and tired) when we got home!”

“Sarah was great with taking care of my dog Bella! She was pleasant to work with and communication was easy. I got lots of pictures and video of Bell and she was VERY happy to hang out with Sarah’s dogs. Highly recommended Sarah for any pets needs!”

About: I have two dogs at home that I walk daily when the weather is nice. I have also dog sat and walked for many neighbors and families! I am comfortable with any breed of dog or cat and I enjoy playing with new furry friends! I work part time while I am in college! I have time each morning and night to walk a dog or drop by to check on them, especially Saturday-Tuesday. I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs. They are all crate trained and know how to do tricks. They have been trained to be around people as well. In my clients' homes, I follow written instructions that are provided for me.
“Mark is a great Dog Sitter and Dog Walker! Gabriel is a big Rottweiler and it can be difficult for him to warm up to new people. Mark is a professional and was able to get Gabriel to warm up to him right away! Thanks Mark!”

“Kylie did a great job with my dogs. I always arrived home from my trips to happy dogs and my house in good condition. She gave me great peace of mind when I had to go out of town.”

“If I could give Jillian 10 stars, I would. This was our first time using Rover. Our dog Stella can be a lot to handle. She is anxious when meeting new people, barks a lot when they arrive and takes a while to warm up to them. During our meet and greet, Stella went from barking loudly at Jillian to eating cheese out of the palm of her hand in the span of just a few minutes. Stella also requires medication twice a day because of a recent surgery. Jillian did an at-home stay for three nights for us. She immediately bonded with Stella and frequently sent adorable photos of her. She also sent a photo of a report card each day, outlining all the information you need to know your pet is doing well while you're away, including feeding times, medication status, bathroom updates, behavioral notes and a list of activities. The report card and frequent check ins gave us peace of mind knowing that Stella was in great hands and having a fun time while we were away. We will definitely book Jillian again the next time we need a sitter and cannot recommend her highly enough. If you need a sitter, look no further.”

“Brianna took the best care of our 11 month old golden retriever! She was thoughtful, attentive, and extremely communicative. She shared consistent updates and pictures and made us feel like our puppy was in great hands. Even though our puppy needed extra attention during her stay due to a specific condition, Brianna made sure to take great care of her. We are so grateful for Brianna and would trust her with our puppy anytime!”

“Miguel did a great job, recently caring for our two dogs and cat, while we were away for a week. He left our home exactly as he found it, communicated with us immediately when we had questions or comments and did everything we asked him to do. It’s a blessing to know such a fine young man.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Clawson is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clawson
Solea and Dom took amazing care of our two dogs! Our husky can be a handful because of his temperament but they handled him like champs! We had no worries that our dogs were in good hands. They also cleaned the house at the end of their stay and threw the bedding into the wash. We will be using them again in the future!

Our dog is super reactive to new people given his abusive past, but Taylor brought out a side of our dog we have never seen before. She was patient and he picked up on how loving and caring she was and he literally never freaked out at her. He was giving her kisses the first time they met and it made my dog-mom heart so happy. I knew we made a great decision for a pet sitter. She texted us updates and hung out with our dog and cat (even our cat does not come out of hiding with new people but our cat was literally coming up to her for cuddles-who are these animals?!). But seriously, she is THE BEST OF THE BEST and we will only be using her from now on!!

Hannah was so wonderful with our dog, Ernie! She left our house exactly as she found it and was so communicative. We felt so much more relaxed knowing he was in good hands. She was so sweet and responsible with his needs and medications. She was responsive and flexible even when we had a power line fall while we were away. We will definitely rebook!

We had such a wonderful experience with Brianna. She took amazing care of Ronin and made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. She was reliable, thoughtful, communicative, and clearly cared about making sure he felt safe and comfortable while we were away. We came home to a happy dog and a well-cared-for house, and we would absolutely trust her with him again. Highly recommend!

Dani was amazing. She was very prompt and very professional. From the moment she walked through the door and was so attentive to my dog Millie, I knew that she would be great and she was! She kept me apprised throughout the day with pictures and updates. I will definitely be requesting her babysitting services again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clawson walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clawson maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clawson choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
