“Larry took great care of my dog while I was away. He was reliable, communicative, and made sure everything went smoothly. It was clear my dog was well cared for and comfortable. I really appreciated his help and would be happy to book with him again in the future.”

“Rebekah was amazing. She kept us updated with pictures throughout our entire trip and left the house in perfect condition, even washing the sheets she used while she stayed. She went above and beyond and we would love to have her again!”

“We are so thrilled to have found Kenna to watch our dogs. She was very communicative and took great care of our dogs. We would absolutely recommend her and also would hire her again to stay at our home.”
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for over 10 years. Experience with active dogs, elderly dogs and everything in between. Flexible schedule and last minute availability. I am available 24/7! I work freelance so my work schedule is remote and I schedule it myself. I have open availability on weekends as well. I have reliable transportation. I know all the best walking spots in town! I have a fenced in yard if needed. My vehicle can also fit large dogs.

About: I have grown up and taken care of animals most of my life. I am a reliable care taker who prioritizes communication to give you and your furry friend the best experience I possibly can and beyond. I am currently working part-time which makes my schedule perfect and flexible to help out wherever is needed! I have reliable transportation to get me to and from your furry friend! I am comfortable doing home visits whether that be for a few hours a day or over night. I take pride in my ability to give your furry friend the love and attention they need while you are away!
“Gracie did an excellent job caring for my two rowdy pups while we were away for our wedding! She was very attentive to our instructions and treated the pups with affection and care. She asked all the right questions to make sure they had what they needed, and sent lots of photos and updates. Would absolutely hire Gracie again!”

“This was the first time using Rover, and we were a little nervous having someone take care of our dogs for so long, but Jordan was amazing. She communicated with us throughout our Europe trip by sending pictures and explanations of what has been going on. She seemed to really engage with the care of our fur babies, and sent us daily updates. The pups really loved her and we did too. I would definitely recommend Jordan and use her in the future!”

“Thank you so much for staying with Mae and Stewart while we were away! It was great getting the daily pictures knowing they were happy and cared for. Sorry, I had no idea the work packages would be so many and appreciate you brought them inside! We will definitely be using you again in the future!”

“Laura was awesome! I didn't win my golf tournament today, but at least I only had one thing to blame: my golf game. Knowing Bravo was safe and happy made the day a whole lot less stressful. Bravo can be a bit particular about his people, and he gave Laura his stamp of approval almost immediately. Either she's a natural with dogs, or he was hypnotized by the red hair. I'm still investigating. She kept me updated, took great care of him, and let me enjoy my round without wondering if my dog was plotting his escape or teaching the neighborhood squirrels bad habits. If you're looking for someone to watch your dog, Laura is fantastic. Five stars from me and two paws up from Bravo.”

“Kylie is wonderful! She is very considerate, professional and caring. She took good care of our dog while we were out and left the house exactly as it was when we left. Will definitely call her again when we need a sitter for our dog.”

“Taylor was wonderful with our two dogs! Caring for one who is a deaf counter-surfer and another a recent rescue still learning the ropes is no easy task and Taylor handled it excellently. When a chewing issue arose, she contacted me right away and secured the items out of reach. We felt completely at ease knowing our dogs were safe in our home with such a responsible carer. To top it off, we were welcomed back to a clean home and freshly washed bedsheets! Truly five-star service. Will definitely book again.”

“Robert was very great to watch my dogs. He took them out for walks very often and took great care of them. Would hire him again for sure and recommend him to anyone who asks me about a pet sitter:)”

“Lydia was wonderful! She was super sweet and she did great with my dog Stella. She was very good with communicating, sending photos and updates. I could tell she loved taking care of my dog and she takes caring for animals seriously. I would recommend Lydia!”

“If I could give Jillian 10 stars, I would. This was our first time using Rover. Our dog Stella can be a lot to handle. She is anxious when meeting new people, barks a lot when they arrive and takes a while to warm up to them. During our meet and greet, Stella went from barking loudly at Jillian to eating cheese out of the palm of her hand in the span of just a few minutes. Stella also requires medication twice a day because of a recent surgery. Jillian did an at-home stay for three nights for us. She immediately bonded with Stella and frequently sent adorable photos of her. She also sent a photo of a report card each day, outlining all the information you need to know your pet is doing well while you're away, including feeding times, medication status, bathroom updates, behavioral notes and a list of activities. The report card and frequent check ins gave us peace of mind knowing that Stella was in great hands and having a fun time while we were away. We will definitely book Jillian again the next time we need a sitter and cannot recommend her highly enough. If you need a sitter, look no further.”

About: I have had dogs since I was 3 and have trained my own dogs as an adult. Current one is training to be therapy dog! I have a flexible schedule and am an early riser. I have the most time in the morning and later afternoon/evening, but can make midday work! Weekends are usually open! I am familiar with having dogs in both fenced and unfenced yards as well as many types of leashes and collars. I have always had big dogs and can handle their strength!

“Nathalie is truly amazing! This was our first time using Rover, and we were so lucky to find her right away. She cared for our 3-year-old dog and 11-year-old cat as if they were her own. Throughout the stay, she sent us daily photo updates along with detailed notes, which gave us so much peace of mind. We came home to a spotless house, and she even washed and remade our bed so we had fresh sheets waiting for us—a thoughtful touch that went above and beyond. On top of that, her sweet dog Vern was the perfect playmate for ours, which was such a wonderful bonus. We’re so grateful to have found someone we trust completely, and I’ve already shared her info with my family. Highly, highly recommend Nathalie!”

“My pets and I love having Brianna, she’s been watching mine for 3 plus years now. Will keep using her when we leave town. I fully trust her and appreciate her passion for animals and her frequent communication with me while gone. She is the best!!”

Amazing! This was a long trip with family and we were so relaxed knowing Kateri was watching Teddy. She sent updates, videos, and pictures a few times a day! Shes so kind and knows how to make Teddy feel comfortable. And she follows his lead as needed which I know helps his anxious feelings when we are away!

Jordan was wonderful with Desi and Luci. She kept them on their routine, took them on their walks, and clearly gave them a lot of attention. I came home to two happy, well-cared-for dogs and a house in perfect order. She was communicative, reliable, and left everything just as she found it. If you’re looking for a sitter who treats your dogs like her own, Jordan is it. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again — highly recommend.

Gracie did an excellent job caring for my two rowdy pups while we were away for our wedding! She was very attentive to our instructions and treated the pups with affection and care. She asked all the right questions to make sure they had what they needed, and sent lots of photos and updates. Would absolutely hire Gracie again!

Willoughby had a great time hanging out around home, going for walks, and playing with Lizzi while I was out of town! She sent fun pictures of him and took wonderful care of everything. All was in excellent order when I came home. Lizzi worked on his loose leash walking too, and he was doing awesome!

Larry took great care of my dog while I was away. He was reliable, communicative, and made sure everything went smoothly. It was clear my dog was well cared for and comfortable. I really appreciated his help and would be happy to book with him again in the future.

Audrey is the Mary Poppins of pet sitting! She is a kind, compassionate lover of all animals, and we knew our pets would be in great care while away. We had quite the tall order- last minute request, a newly adopted, rambunctious tween cat, and very shy/timid older cat…as well as guinea pig on top. She was responsive, organized & thorough, and completely spoiled the pets throughout the stay. Our house was even cleaner and tidier than before we left! She really goes above and beyond, and we look forward to booking again in the future. :)

overall great experience for both of our pups - we traveled overseas and alex housesat with our large pup and frenchie and when we returned, the house was in order and the pups appeared well taken care of! will certainly love to use alex’s services again in the future :))

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bloomfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bloomfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bloomfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bloomfield. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
