WFH dog sitter!

Hi there! I have a full-time job that is WFH, and would love to help out with others pets in my free time! I also share pics of my clients and my foster dogs. — I am very involved in the rescue community and most of the funds I take home from this side hustle go right back towards my fostering, as I like to contribute towards the medical care and supplies of the dogs I take in. I currently have a foster that is a shitzu mix, 15 years old, deaf, and very friendly to dogs. I’m a U of M grad and grew up in the area. I have experience with a range of dogs--I have owned small dogs (yorkie, havanese) as well as pit bulls, and I love playing with pups. I also have had many cat clients since I started pet sitting! *Please — if your dog has destructive tendencies, severe separation anxiety, resource guarding, etc — do not request for care *in my home*. I am happy to watch your dog in your home, but have had some poor experiences regarding situations that have put my dogs in harms way or led to significant damage to my home due to owners downplaying the severity of their dogs anxiety or behavior issues, so I prefer for pets with those traits to be cared for in their own environment. I do have needs that may take me out of a dogs line of sight — whether it be buying groceries, going to the gym, routine appointments, etc — and if your dog requires 24/7 supervision, a professional boarding facility is a better option than Rover. I shouldn’t have to state this but unfortunately, it seems that this is forgotten by some! If your pet truly does need 24/7 supervision AND you cannot board them, a higher rate can be negotiated to compensate for the accommodations I make on my end.

BEYOND AMAZING! We had a last minute appointment and she went over and above for us and our dog. Communicated the entire stay and sent pictures that made us smile. Truly could not have asked for a better sitter. If we are ever back in the area she will always be our first pick!

Jennifer was awesome with our little senior papillon, Duncan! She was able to take on our last minute dog-sitting request and everything worked out fine. Duncan ended up sleeping most of the day as it was! Lol! There were other dogs there, but I felt that Duncan was safe and would be well-cared for in my absence. Thank you, Jennifer!

Jennifer was awesome! Thor was very happy at the end of his petcare. He met two other dogs; which makes him a happy dog! 🐾 Jennifer is a perfect Rover sitter.

Schedule

I work from home full-time and am free for weekend work as well! Ideally any client will be close(ish) to Royal Oak (or Ferndale, Berkeley, etc.) if needing walks or drop in visits. For house sitting/overnights I am open to further locations.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

If in my home, the dog will need to be dog friendly as I have a dog of my own (a havanese mix named Pancake) who loves to play if the dog is small! He doesn’t initiate play with bigger dogs but doesn’t mind having them around either. I have a fenced-in yard and I am available to stay in a clients house to sit instead of that is preferred.

Pets

A typical day

I love to walk my dog down to Wagner park, and have him run around in my yard and play fetch. I am a frequent visitor at dog parks if your dog enjoys those as well

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
No females in heat
Jennifer can host up to 3 pets per night
I would like to know if your pet would need any special attention for any medical issues! I have had elderly dogs in the past, and also have potty trained two puppies so I am familiar with the accommodations some dogs require. As I mentioned above, please disclose any reactivity, destructive tendencies, or significant anxieties your dog may have as it is necessary to ensure the safety of myself, my dogs, and my home.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
