“Richard was a fantastic dog sitter for our boy, Buddy! He was very communicative, reliable, and punctual throughout our trip. Buddy was happy, relaxed, and content when we got home, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely recommend Richard to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you, Richard, for taking such great care of Buddy! 🐾😊”

“Genevieve was absolutely fantastic! I am always worried about leaving Pepper because she doesn’t like new people initially but she seemed to warm up to Genevieve very well. Genevieve was patient, friendly, and accommodating to any needs I had. She sent the cutest pictures and “pupdates” often to keep me in the loop. Since it was Christmas, she also opened gifts with Pepper on that day and sent fun videos. She took great care of our house as well. Cleaned up after herself and went over and beyond doing laundry as well. I would definitely recommend Genevieve to anyone who is looking for a reliable sitter for their fur babies. We will be using her again soon! Thanks for everything!”

“Hanan was wonderful for hours sitting and watching our two dogs. We appreciated her high level of communication, professionalism and overall care that was taken. Hanan took our dogs on multiple walks a day and helped work with some basic training skills as well. She left our home clean and our dogs happy. I would recommend Hanan to watch after your pups.”

“Nicole was amazing! She was very professional, communicative before the visit and with updates, and my pup loved her. I will definitely be asking her to house sit again and would highly recommend!”

“Melissa was great! This was our second time using her and we will definitely use her again! Definitely recommend her to come into your home and dog sit. She is wonderful with our puppy and Sassy loves her!”

“Bonnie is excellent! She has excellent communication skills. She loves on your fur baby. Goes above and beyond. Would highly recommend. She has stayed with us before and we were extremely happy.”

“Emily was amazing. Taking care of two dogs including a puppy is no easy task. We appreciated the many pictures and updates. The house was kept really tidy and clean too. We’d definitely recommend her”

“Aden was so amazing! I couldn't be happier with the care he provided for my dog while I was gone. He was attentive, communicative, and made sure to keep me updated with frequent messages and lots of pictures of my furbaby. My dog was well cared for and comfortable, which made it much easier for me to enjoy my trip. I would definitely book with him again and highly recommend him to other pet owners!! Thank you Aden.”

“Jordan was amazing. My cats, dogs and goats were super comfortable with her and my house was just as clean or cleaner than we left it. I loved the picture and video updates. Will definitely be using her again.”

“Gracie did an excellent job caring for my two rowdy pups while we were away for our wedding! She was very attentive to our instructions and treated the pups with affection and care. She asked all the right questions to make sure they had what they needed, and sent lots of photos and updates. Would absolutely hire Gracie again!”

About: I've owned/fostered/rescued animals my whole life, and I'm an avid animal lover. I run a rescue program with my friend and community members, and am very skilled with medical monitoring and behavior reading. I have experience working with special needs and elderly animals. I've administered oral medication and eye drops, changed doggy diapers, and bottle fed babies. I also have experience working with aggressive and territorial animals, I maintain a gentle and patient energy and work hard to create a secure relationship with each pet. I don't mind cleaning, I love super active animals, and I'm confident and reliable in caretaking. I work independently as an artist and curator, so I make my own schedule, so I always have plenty of time for your fur baby. I am unable to watch pets at my own place, as I am constantly fostering and have my own cats. I've been a trusted house/pet/baby sitter for 10 years, and will take great care of your space.
“Heather was great for our overnight trip. She sent plenty of picture and updates on the animals through her entire stay. We had never left the animals with someone they didn't know for an overnight trip so we were a bit nervous on how things would go. It went so well that we will be using her again for a trip in the near future.”

“Lindsey house sat and took care of our 3 very active pitbulls, 3 cats and even some of our reptiles. Communication was constant, pictures of all our pets three times a day, everyday, adressed any concerns promptly. Lindsey is thorough, polite and responsive. Our dogs had the time of thier life while she stayed with them. We have a difficult dog, she did great with Lindsey as she was patient and kind. Our cat who goes days under the bed came out to see her, we were stunned. We never worried about a thing and could enjoy our time away. Our house was pristine when we came back home. If you need a sitter, Lindsey is our recommendation. We are so pleased.”

“Rhiannon was terrific! She cared for our dogs and home with great care and wonderful communication. Meant the world to us to receive regular updates with happy dog photos. She was flexible and quick to respond. Great experience!”

“Randi made herself available on short notice, for 2 meetups which we requested. She was patient getting to know our rescue pup, prior to her house sitting while we went out of town. Our pup can be high energy, and also requires walks daily. Randi handled our pup well, giving her lots of attention and even extra sniffy walks beyond what we requested 💜 She seems to truly love animals and we would recommend her!”

“Kateri (Rebekah) was amazing to work with! She was on time, did regular check-ins and left our home as she found it. I would definitely use her again and would not hesitate to recommend her to anybody looking for a reliable excellent pet sitter!”

“Taylor was a wonderful pet sitter. Took great care of my anxious dog and cat, staying overnight at our house for most of a week. Followed instructions to a T with my dog’s medication and needs for going outside. Left the house clean and in great shape. Would have her back anytime we need pet sitting.”

“I would give 6 stars if I could! Lauren was amazing. It was our first time using Rover and she made us feel so at ease the entire trip. She even stayed to hang out with Benny a little extra when we were running late from our flight!”

“Sarah was truly a life saver for us and our new puppy! My husband and I had to leave our barely 3 month year old Golden Retriever for 9 days and we were SO nervous but, Sarah went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. She stayed at our house basically 24 hours a day and kept his schedule and routine completely normal. She sent lots of updates and pictures which really helped make me feel he was safe and well taken care of. Her and Goose became good buddies and I can't wait to use her services again!”

Grace was fantastic with my pup! Excellent communication, kept me updated with pictures and let me know when she walked and fed. I felt very comfortable with her in my home and it was left exactly as when she arrived. Wouldn't hesitate to have her watch my dog again!

Will took excellent care of my cat and home. He is a great communicator and I could tell he spent extra time playing with my cat as he was super chill. Will’s consideration for the details of my pet and home was noteworthy. His updates were exactly what I needed to relax away from home and my routine driven kitty 🐈⬛

Sophia was very flexible with a last minute sitting request for two dogs. She visited the home 3 times per day, walked the dogs 1-2 times per day, fed, and administered medications. The home was kept in the condition it was left in. The dogs were very comfortable and in good spirits after a 3 day sitting. Sophia had good communication and demeanor. She left check in messages and photos with every visit. Would definitely book with Sophia again.

Omg Emily was so great!!! Her communication was literally 10/10 and she sent me so many pictures and videos and updates of my dogs while she house+dog sat for me for 3 days. She even left my house cleaner than how she found it! As someone who is brand new to the area, I was so nervous to leave my dogs and house to someone new but Emily is literally exactly who you want. She asked so many good and thorough questions before and during her stay. I just can't say enough good things about her. I'll 100% be requesting her to take care of my babies again bc I already know I'll have total peace of mind having her take care of them :)

Aden was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we reached out he was responsive and communicative. During our trip Aden sent regular updates and pictures that gave us complete peace of mind. He handled unexpected visitors at our front door like a pro—even with our reactive dogs—and kept us informed the entire time, even when we weren’t checking our phones right away. On top of taking such great care of our pups, he left our home spotless and was an exceptionally respectful houseguest. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will absolutely be reaching out to Aden again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rhiannon was amazing! She gave detailed updates, managed a complicated medication schedule with ease, and went above and beyond to make my nervous pup feel comfortable while I was gone. I came back to a clean home and happy pets. I would recommend Rhiannon's services and look forward to booking with her again.
We couldn’t have asked for a better house and dog sitter! Mark stayed in our home while we were away, and he took incredible care of our dog, Willie Nelson. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Willie was comfortable in his own home with someone so kind, responsible, and attentive. Mark went above and beyond while we were gone. He kept us updated, treated our home with care and respect, and most importantly, gave Willie so much love and attention. We came home to a happy, relaxed dog, and our house was just as we left it. Mark is also an incredibly talented local artist, and he’s simply a wonderful human being. If you’re looking for someone you can completely trust with your pets and your home, I can’t recommend him enough. We’ll absolutely be booking him again!

Allie was responsive and sent messages about Piper and Miffles every day of our trip. She accommodated my pup's temporary stomach issues and got her back on track with regular diet without additional guidance and sending plenty of updates. Our home was left just as clean as it was when we left. Would book again! Thanks, Allie!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hazel Park on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hazel Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hazel Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hazel Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hazel Park. On Rover:

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
