We would definitely recommend Steven for his pet sitting services. He watched our two kittens for a week that needed a little extra care. He sent pictures and videos frequently so we wouldn’t miss the babies too much. Steven has a lot of knowledge and experience with animals and we would absolutely book with him again. Thank you!

I had a great experience with Cody and would absolutely book with him again. Throughout my dog’s 6-night stay, I received updates and photos on days 1, 3, and 5, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. My dog can be pretty anxious, especially in new environments, but Cody handled him with patience and care. When I picked him up, I could clearly tell he had grown comfortable and even formed a bond with Cody, which says a lot. He was nervous at drop-off, but it was reassuring to see how much more relaxed and at ease he was by the end of his stay. Cody created a safe, welcoming environment and was easy to communicate with throughout the process. I really appreciated the attention given to my dog’s needs and overall well-being. Thank you again for taking good care of him—I’d definitely trust Cody with my pup in the future.

Jill took such good care of my dog on his visit to her home. We had contacted her a couple of days prior to her watching him and she was really responsive, accommodating and attentive to him while he was injured in a cone and administered his meds and provided extra care. We will definitely be coming back to Jill! Thanks so much!

We are new to the area and finding a good dog sitter is always a bit stressful. Kadi put me and my dog, Phoebe, at ease almost immediately upon meeting her. She is friendly, welcoming, and truly cares! Kadi asked important questions about my dog to ensure the boarding was tailored to Phoebe's needs. Throughout her stay, we received updates and pictures that gave us peace of mind that Phoebe was not an after thought, but part of the family!

Ruffles is 14 years old and pretty easy-going. They made every effort to try and play with her, settle her in their bed for a nap, etc. They sent videos throughout the day and responded to every communication promptly so that I knew how she was doing and followed up after the visit to tell me how the day went. I’ve already booked two additional visits for a week each.

10/10 stars!! I would absolutely try boarding/cat sitting with Hali in the future. I was considerably nervous as it was the first time my cat would ever spend a night away from me. Hali made sure to keep me updated with plenty of pictures and videos of Wednesday during her stay! My cat is an anxious girl, so I appreciated the effort and patience Hali had with her. Hali was also very considerate about the fact that my cat gets anxious around dogs, and thankfully was able to provide Wednesday with a space of her own! Overall, I’m very happy with the quality of care Wednesday received and would definitely recommend booking with Hali.

About: I am an animal lover with years of experience taking care of my own dogs and my friends’ many pets. I love to take long walks or sit and hang with animals if that’s what your pets need. I have had dogs in the house since I was a baby, most of which have been large high-energy dogs, so I can handle the big loud pups. My most recent pet was a high-needs senior dog, so I understand the anxiety that comes along with leaving your pet in the care of someone else. I am happy to take care of any special needs and send updates/pictures to ease your mind. I have a soft spot for seniors. In the summer I work from home on weekdays. I have some flexibility when it comes to being able to take longer breaks as long as I can get all my work time in. I have lots of flexibility during weeknights and weekends! My home: I have a great home for dogs, with lots of open space and a fenced back yard. Since I work from home, I would be able to keep an eye on your pets all day long. I have a partner who is home most weeknights and weekdays as well. We recently lost our senior dog and we would love to fill our house with wags and barks again. Clients home: I have lots of experience pet sitting at friends’ homes, so I can adapt to whatever you need at your home. I am very flexible so if you’re curious about how often I can come over or anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Blue had a great stay at Vicki and William’s house! They are both so kind and I felt no worries at all when leaving him in their care. The amount of communication, updates, and photos are amazing and are so helpful when I miss my pup. Their dog Bentley is also very sweet so I’m glad Blue has a friend!

Absolutely amazing experience! Meredith was very communicative. She said very good expectations for both me and my dog. Plenty of pictures and photographs were sent. Rachel is top notch, highly recommend. We were worried about boarding our older Doxie due to last minute travel. Rachel responded within minutes and put our minds at ease. She went above and beyond to assure that Frankie would be given the care she needs, along with extra TLC for our pup. Frankie was returned to us so happy and super tired from all the fun, wearing an adorable bandana and her own original art on canvas made at Rachel's! Couldn't ask for more!

It was a pleasure for both me and my girl Dolly to stay with Rhiannon and her 2 beautiful dogs. Dolly had so much fun and fit in perfectly with their "pack". It was Dolly's first time being gone overnight and being boarded and I could not have asked for a better experience for her. Rhiannon showed as much love to Dolly as she does to her own pets (including her cat). Dolly was well cared for. I felt save leaving her with this family.

Whitley and Christian were fantastic! From the moment we met them at the meet and greet, and all through our time away, they were caring and thoughtful individuals. We would have them dogs sit again for us anytime.

We had such a great experience with Lindsay this weekend and she watched over our dog for 5 days! This was our first time using Rover so everything was new for us and for our dog Frankie. I am so happy I reached out to Lindsay! She took our booking at a late notice and was very responsive throughout the whole process and with updates/photos of our little girl. I will continue to use Lindsay in future events when she is available and no longer take Frankie to boarding. We could tell by the way our girl was acting after pick up that she very much enjoyed staying in a home more than a crowded building. 10/10 experience from us and from Frankie!

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

95% of Hazel Park sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Hazel Park landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hazel Park home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
