“Susan and her husband went above and beyond for our guy, Louie. Louie is a big boy that requires a lot of attention. They made him feel right at home! We would highly recommend them!”

“Jenna was amazing! She helped us out with a last-minute request and made everything so easy. Her communication was great, she sent plenty of photos, and it was clear that our puppy Poppy had the best time. We felt completely at ease knowing Poppy was in such good hands. We’ll absolutely be booking with Jenna again!”

“Andrew took great care of my dog Theo. He was very prompt to respond and be available last minute. Thank you again for all the updates during the stay! Theo loved playing with the other pups.”

“Kara was amazing! She took such great care of my boy, Gus. He is a bit high maintenance and needs quite a bit of care to keep him healthy and when he came home from Kara’s, he was happy and healthy!”

“Megan was great! She and her best boy Hamilton, took in our three Chihuahuas and made them feel at home!! So grateful for Megan's openness in taking care of Maximus, Harley and Bentley!”

“I was nervous because this was the first time I'd left Picasso with someone he didn't know. Ekow was extremely kind and sent updates of a happy dog daily, which made me feel much better. We've found a new sitter and I will definitely be reaching out anytime we need a sitter. Five stars!!”

“Sam totally and completely exceeded our expectations as a pet sitter and caregiver! Honestly, I was nervous about using Rover to find someone to watch our pit mix, Thelma Lou. She's a rescue and we're the third (and final!) home she's had, so we knew we didn't want to board her at a traditional facility. We also weren't sure how she would get along with other dogs. When we first reached out to Sam, I told her that we were open to boarding, but would prefer to have her drop in on Thelma. Sam really encouraged us to board Thelma with her and after our meet-and-greet, we were convinced! Sam was so positive, patient, and caring with our girl. And she did awesome at helping Thelma socialize with her dogs! Where Sam truly went above and beyond, was helping us make our wedding day special! The reason we had initially reached out was to have her watch Thelma Lou for our wedding. We had originally wanted to have her be a part of our ceremony, but ultimately decided that it would be too overwhelming for her. We then decided that we'd like to have her in our photos and Sam suggested that we add on a pick-up/drop-off service. Sam drove 45+ minutes (with today's insane gas prices!) to bring Thelma up to our venue for about an hour of pictures. She did such a good job and even brought toys and extra treats to get Thelma's attention and winning smiles! Bonus! Sam is taking classes to become a trainer - and it shows in the way she works with her pets. We will DEFINITELY be working with her again in the future! Thank you, Sam!”

“Lavina is the best, our go to gal for drop ins and boarding. She always treats our pup as her own and does a great job making her comfortable and happy. We use no one else, thank you Lavina!”

“Fantastic pet sitters!! Thank you so much for taking such great care of our dog baby, Daisy!! And even though it was last-minute and unforeseen request, you stepped up and saved us in our time of need! Thank you!!”

“Carolina was absolutely amazing with Dixie. From the moment we connected, I felt at ease knowing my dog would be in caring and capable hands. She sent regular updates, photos, and gave so much love and attention to my Dixie —it was clear she genuinely care about dogs. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for dogs and a tidy space. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be booking with Carolina again!”

“Our dog was well taken care of during her stay. Mariana sent photos throughout stay and kept us informed. Would not hesitate to bring our dog back for another stay.”

“Rebecca and family did such a great job with our Wheaten Terrier. It was so nice to relax on vacation and not worry about our dog. The daily picturesand funny texts about what our dog was up to was great also. We would definitely use Rebecca again!!”

Kadi is amazing and my sweet little old girly girl, Dolly, just loves her. ❤️ Dolly is 13 and doesn’t ever play with dogs but Kadi sent me pictures of Dolly having the best time playing with her dog. It made me so happy! I will definitely be using Kadi for doggy care the next time we travel.

SYDNEY IS THE BEST! This was the first time our dog, Primo, stayed with someone who wasn’t already familiar with him, so naturally, we were a little nervous about leaving him while we were away on vacation. From the very beginning, Sydney completely put our minds at ease. She took the time to address every concern we had, answered all of our questions, and reassured us that Primo would be safe, comfortable, and very well taken care of. Sydney was incredibly accommodating, attentive, and professional throughout Primo’s entire stay. What we appreciated most was her communication. Every morning and evening, she sent us pictures along with updates and notes about how Primo was doing. Being able to see him happy and comfortable allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our vacation without worrying about him. It was clear that Sydney treated Primo with genuine care and attention, and that means everything to us. We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience leaving him with someone new. Sydney has definitely earned our trust, and we will absolutely be using her services again in the future. If you’re looking for someone dependable, caring, communicative, and trustworthy to care for your pet, we highly recommend Sydney. Thank you, Sydney!

We had the best experience with Christine!! She is so kind and welcoming. My dog had the biggest smile on his face in all of his update pictures so I could tell he was in great hands. She kept me in the loop with everything & I couldn't have asked for a better stay. We'll be booking again in the future, thanks again!

Heidi was my first sitter using Rover and made it a super easy and reassuring experience for both me and Reese! She was so great at sending photos, letting me know how she was doing with fun updates, and made sure that Reese was enjoying herself all weekend. Winston is also a great dog-host and so sweet to help host!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
