“She did great watching my cat Trixie! My cat is really old so I don’t like to leave her alone for long and Annie did an amazing job at making sure she was well taken care of”
“Jay was very easy to schedule with. He genuinely listened to my insane list of things for my cat, spent time playing with him, and made sure any accidents were cleaned up. As someone who has a cat with medical issues, I truly felt like my worries were attended to. I'm sure Blanket had a good time too!”

About: I love all animals and grew up with dogs, both rescues, one big one small. Although I don’t have a pet of my own now, Rover gives me the chance to give care and spend time with the furry friends that give us unconditional love. I’m currently working freelance so I have the flexibility of making my own schedule, and time to spend giving attention to your pets and whatever needs they have. I know how important it is for pets to feel safe in their own space. My first priority is to make your dog or cat feel comfortable with me.
About: I have grown up loving and caring for dogs of my own as well as others. I have always been the person people always call when they have some kind of animal emergency. I absolutely love animals and know a lot about taking care of them and many different types. They will get lots of attention and quality care from me. I will spoil your baby as much as you will let me! I can administer any medication necessary. My dog takes pain meds twice a day so we are already on a medication routine. I have a flexible schedule so I can meet most needs. I keep in contact with you asap if there are any changes that are needed I live in a charming small house in the corner of Ferndale and a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. I have a fully fenced in backyard that is about 97% privacy fence. There’s one little corner where my dog can talk to the dog in back through a chain-link fence. Lots of shade and grass
“Tara was wonderful with Rosie! She was reliable, communicative, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. Rosie was well cared for, happy, and clearly comfortable in her care. I really appreciated the updates and photos, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Tara again. Highly recommend!”

“Allie is so kind and does great work with our timid girl. Allie is patient and you can tell she is a great caregiver because she thinks of all of the little things (like placing her keys down to say hi because she knew keys might scare a nervous dog).”

“Emily is fantastic!! Great with communication, updates, & photos! I had zero stress leaving our pets behind for her to drop-in and care for. I would definitely rebook!”

“Jason was amazing. I would recommend him as a sitter for your dog, cats and as a chicken checker...lol. Jason took great care of our dog on his drop ins and did a few extras too, like took an Amazon package in. Jason was reliable and had great communication. We will definitely use his services again.”

“Katherine took great care of my two cats for the weekend. She did drop-in visits to feed them and clean the litter box. She sent pictures of them each visit. And had great communication about when she would arrive and leave so that I could arm/disarm the alarm system. Will use again!”

“Ally was awesome!! She took excellent care of Oliver and sent thorough feedback. I felt very comfortable being away knowing Oliver was in such good hands. Thank you!!”

“Really appreciated being able to do a drop-in before a longer house sitting stay. Nicole provided lots of updates and pictures, and Louis seemed perfectly content when I got home.”

“Lukis was great! Loved all the photos they sent of my hams and followed directions for key swap! I was very confident that they would do a great job, and they did!!”

“Chelsea is so awesome! My mom needed someone to check on her sweet and affectionate cat, Romeo, while she was out visiting me. She took such wonderful care of him. We were able to really enjoy our time together without worrying, because we knew he was in good and capable hands. Thanks Chelsea!! ♥️”

“Alicyn was super responsive, professional and I would definitely book with her again. She always made sure to send plenty of photos and videos and really cares about our cats. I highly recommend her!”

“I’ve had Kenny for a week. She’s amazing . I couldn’t ask for a better drop in sitter to be honest. With the commitment, level of care PLUS the time spent I can’t imagine having hired anyone else. Moving forward she will be my go to. I intend to keep her for weeks. In the hospital having a baby and complications since I can’t come home and she made accommodations to meet me; tend to my home and my cat. Very professional. Personal with the cat. Brought his confidence way up. On time, communication is perfect and documentation for visits is very reassuring for me and my daughter. Couldn’t ask for a better sitter. Thank you Kenna!!”

“Phoenix is always reliable, communicative, friendly, and obvious cares about the animals she's charged with caring for. We've used her cat visit/care services many times and will continue to do so.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Highland Park
Shannon is an amazing kitty sitter! She watched our two cats while we were away for two weeks. She was very professional- communicative, and thorough from the start and gave our cats the love and care they deserve! She was so patient with our shy cat, who eventually warmed up to her! She kept the litter area tidy and also took care of our plants and mail. We are so grateful!

Amanda was referred to me by a neighbor who spoke very highly of her. I was so worried about leaving my cats and felt so much relief after being given the referral, instead of using a neighbor to help me. She followed my directions and I never worried the entire time I was gone as I knew everything was being taken care of. My cats are very fearful of strangers in the house and I want them to get to know her so I can feel comfortable when I leave on trips and they no longer are afraid. I will continue to use her going forward. She sent pictures and it looked like they would make an appearance when she was here so hopefully, that will get better each time.
Erik is so great with my cat. He takes great care of her and goes above and beyond to look out for my entire household. My dog has been gone the last couple of drop ins, but I look forward to Erik taking care of her too. He is clearly a natural animal lover and will care for your pet as if it’s his own.

This was my first booking and Krysia made the whole experience so easy! She was able to accommodate my last-minute request, and she sent photos of my cat Grady warming up to her quickly, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. I’m definitely reaching out for any future request. Thanks again!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Highland Park. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
