About: (New Account) Hi there I’m Julianna and I have 20+ years of animal care experience under my belt! I grew up in a unique situation with over 15+ animals in my house at a given time as my mother was an animal fosterer and relocator. This allowed me to amass a lifelong experience of taking care of animals of all different sizes, temperaments, and health conditions. I have worked with a wide range of animals including exotic pets, farm animals, and rescues. I have a deep understanding in animal behavior which allows me to carefully tailor your furry babies individual needs. I am skilled in daily feedings(live too), light grooming, administering medications all while creating an environment that feels safe and healthy. Life can get busy. Understandably you wanted to provide immediate care for your beloved pet but your schedule might not allow for immediate flexibility. That’s why I also have extended transportation skills. I can assist with transportation to and from your veterinary clinic, groomers, or airport. I work from home so I am able to be extremely accommodating to your pets needs. I have plenty of time for long walks and belly rubs. I am also able to assist in veterinary visit if your schedule doesn’t allow. I tailor each routine to your pet and am more than happy to accommodate any special request. I live in a walk up apartment and am able to carry up/down anyone who needs assistance. I have gated dog coral as well fenced in backyard.

About: I grew up taking every opportunity I could to care for and spend time with my neighbors' dogs and had a family dog for 6 years. I have experience with administering oral and topical medications, as well as with treating minor wounds and infections. I also volunteer regularly at the Humane Society which has given me extra experience with dogs with trauma or disabilities, and senior or unsocialized dogs. I'm currently only working in-person during the evenings Monday-Thursday. Other than that I'm mostly working from home and have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I unfortunately don't have a yard or lots of room in my apartment but I live only a short walk from a dog park, which I'd be able to visit regularly. I mostly work from home so I'm able to give frequent walks and snuggles!

Tara was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly friendly, communicative, and so flexible when my return plans changed—I really appreciated how accommodating she was. Rosie clearly bonded with her right away and loved the walks, attention, and care Tara gave her. It gave me such peace of mind knowing Rosie was in such good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Tara again—she’ll definitely be one of the first people I reach out to for future care!

Alayna took wonderful care of my energetic puppy Toby during the drop-in visit. Not many people can match his energy level but Alayna did such a great job and he was a worn out pup well after I returned from work! It is so nice to have a trustworthy, reliable dog sitter. Toby can't wait to run around with Alayna again 😁

I like to stay active and love playing outside or especially walks. I will go as fast or slow as your dog wants! I also of course love to just chill and give pets. Ive gotten to know and understand many animals with different personalities and will adjust to your pets specific needs! My schedule is pretty flexible so I can accommodate your pets needs! I’m available at different times of the day so whether your pet needs a walk while you’re at work or a sitter for the week I am able to help out! I take sitting very seriously as it’s a big responsibility to care for your pet and home. I will always be sure to put the time aside needed to keep your pet happy and healthy and will be communicative if any issue arises. I will leave your house as clean as I found it and perform basic upkeep like light cleaning, gathering mail and taking out trash. I will also do more such as watering plants if you let me know! I’ve had Kenny for a week. She’s amazing . I couldn’t ask for a better drop in sitter to be honest. With the commitment, level of care PLUS the time spent I can’t imagine having hired anyone else. Moving forward she will be my go to. I intend to keep her for weeks. In the hospital having a baby and complications since I can’t come home and she made accommodations to meet me; tend to my home and my cat. Very professional. Personal with the cat. Brought his confidence way up. On time, communication is perfect and documentation for visits is very reassuring for me and my daughter. Couldn’t ask for a better sitter. Thank you Kenna!!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Highland Park stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Highland Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Highland Park with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Highland Park. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
