About: Grew up with pets but can’t have my own right now. I’m looking to help others and get to have be around pets part time! I am self employed with flexible hours every day of the week. I go on daily walks so having a dog by my side would make them even better! I’m kind and gentle and pets gravitate towards me. I’m great at problem solving and always love to send photo updates of your fur babies.

About: I worked at Premier Pet Supply for a year and a half, and LOVE dogs!! I am also very active and am used to walking my 50lb pitbull who knows how to pull😂 I am currently a full-time student who works a part-time job! I have a cat who I love and care for, as well as my mother’s dog and numerous family friends who I enjoy pet-sitting for. I am very active so walks are always fun, and I can watch pets overnight as needed! I am in an apartment right now, so dogs would transparently be difficult to board, but in a clients home I have historically done very well! I work 7 hour days 4 days a week currently, which can be adjusted as needed for clients and their pets comfort. I am also very good at following instruction and caring for animals- I used to work at a pet store!
“Julia was absolutely fantastic and taking care of both of my dogs while I was at work. She texted me and gave me updates with the funniest pictures of my dogs. She was very responsive and communicative. I will definitely be booking in the future!”

“Emily took wonderful care of our dogs and was able to administer difficult medications to one of our dogs. She was super communicative and sent pictures of our dogs. I will definitely be using her again when she’s available!”

“Avery was great, she gave me updates and shared photos of her time spent with Bailey while I had work commitments, giving her treats and belly rubs. I highly recommend Avery and won’t hesitate if I need her help again soon : )”

About: When leaving on a trip im always so worried about leaving my dog, Apollo, which is why I always make sure to treat others’ pets as my own. I have 5 years of experience caring for dogs: being a doggie foster parent, volunteering at my local animal shelter, dog walking and dog sitting! I am comfortable and confident with all breeds and sizes, and I am experienced with puppies and reactivity. I prefer to adapt my style to whatever your pup is most used to. Your pup loves walks and wants to run around in the backyard? Count me in! Your pup is a couch potato and just wants some belly rubs? I’m there! I typically work a hybrid schedule, so some days will allow me to be home with your pup a majority of the time! My exact schedule will depend on the day and the week and can be talked about prior to booking! I always ensure I have ample time with your pup, as I would my own. Your pets safety and comfortability are most important! I provide care based on what the owner needs for their loved pup! I’m very careful to make sure gates/doors and closely follow routines that the pup is used to!
“Tara is a great cat sitter! She was very patient with and loving toward my standoffish cat, very prepared for everything required for catsitting, and willing to go above and beyond when I needed it while I was away. I would definitely recommend her as a catsitter and am looking forward to working with her again in the future!”

About: I am athlete with good energy and can go on long walks for dogs that need extra because they have extra energy. I also have excellent patience, if you’re nervous about your dog’s temperament. I work full time but have a little flexibility. I would like step into a new a field that I would love and am familiar with. I care for my dogs in my home by keeping them on a consistent schedule. I give them the proper attention while maintaining necessary boundaries that animals need to have.
“Heather has been wonderful to work with. She’s been prompt, careful and communicative with her visits with my pet. She’s been able to have a warm relationship with my pet despite my cat’s shyness. I absolutely plan on rebooking visits with Heather in the future.”

About: I had a wonderful dog named Miles who passed in 2021. He was my first experience with my own animal friend and it was one of the best experiences of my life. He needed a lot of care in his last couple of years (he died when he was 16) as he had arthritis and other age related issues that required a lot of love and patience. Currently I have a cat named Alice who is a sweet orange cat with lots of personality. I look forward to making some new animal friends! I currently work full time two miles from my house so I am able to come home for a long lunch break when needed. For over night stays a Friday through Sunday would work best for me so that I can provide lots of attention to your pet. I care for my cat by providing her with a stimulating environment. Lots of pets, lots of love, and attention. I would do the same for your beloved animal friend.
“Tara was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly friendly, communicative, and so flexible when my return plans changed—I really appreciated how accommodating she was. Rosie clearly bonded with her right away and loved the walks, attention, and care Tara gave her. It gave me such peace of mind knowing Rosie was in such good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Tara again—she’ll definitely be one of the first people I reach out to for future care!”

“Alayna did a great job with Molly today. Molly had an upset stomach and threw up and Alayna cleaned it all up. She also made sure Molly had plenty of water. Of course she walked Molly and played with her as well. It’s so nice to know Molly is in good hands and I can rest easy and enjoy myself when I’m away from her.”

“Claudia was amazing! She really cared about my kitties, even checking in to make sure something odd was normal for my one cat. She went above and beyond to make sure they were well taken care of while we were out of town. I absolutely would love to hire her again because I know my babies were in good hands with her.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Highland Park with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
