About: Almost all of my experience as a dog owner and sitter is with dogs that have come from shelters or other adopted situations. I have owned “retired” greyhounds that were severely traumatized, I have cared for small dogs with unknown, but clearly extremely difficult, past traumas, and I have stayed and bonded with boxers and pit bulls who are slow to trust but then become bed-hogging cuddlers! Recently, I had my first experience helping train a puppy! I spent five months with a family and their sweet cavipoo house training and leash training. I teach from home and so I am always home! Well, except for the occasional errand, appointment, etc. So, I would love the extra company and the excuse to get out of the house and get some exercise! I live in an apartment building so I do not have a fenced yard. However, I live on Lafayette Park where I walk daily. It is incredibly safe and I have gotten to know many of the pet parents in the building and the neighborhood. I have two five month old kittens that I adopted from a foster home two months ago where they lived with a dog. I am hoping to keep them exposed to other animals so that when I have a larger place, I will be able to expand my family of pets.
“Marissa is always amazing - great communication, thorough, and you can tell she truly cares about your pets. I'm so grateful that we found someone we can trust to give our cat's medication as well.”

About: I have had dogs all my life and have been sole caregiver for my dog Jay Bear for five years! I have worked with therapy dogs and taken care over three different dogs as their primary sitter. I am currently in school getting my Master’s. I am free all day Tuesday and Friday! On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday I am free until 4 due to having evening classes! Hello! I have experience caring for all kinds of dogs. I have taken care of a dog going through chemotherapy, a dog with specialized diet, and many other specialized treatment needs. I am trained in dog walking through a private session with my own dog and love hanging outside with dogs!
“Elizabeth was so helpful in the care and medicine administration to our sweet senior kitty. She was thoughtful and a great communicator. She even went above and beyond to bring over a some extra litter when she noticed we were running low. So grateful and would highly recommend.”

About: I have 2 dogs that I have been taking care of for about 5 years! Additionally, I have been surrounded by dogs my entire life. My love for dogs has inspired me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. I am currently an undergraduate studying zoology at MSU ! I am currently on summer break before my 3rd semester of college. I have plans to work part-time throughout the summer, however, I am available afternoons during weekdays and weekends until further notice Since my pets are staying at another residence this summer, I don’t have any pet supplies available. Usually, I have a fence, crates, and toys to ensure safety for the dogs and others

“Mary Kay was great with my two girls (cats). She was incredibly communicative and sent great pictures which put my mind at ease. One of my cats is very fearful and has been known to hiss at strangers, but Mary Kay got her to play and take treats. Would recommend Mary Kay in a heartbeat!!”

“Hannah was a great friend date for our doodles. They both looked so happy to be with her and the communication was great! We’re already looking forward to our next visit! Thank you”
“Aramide was an amazing cat sitter for us. Our kittens warmed up to her quickly and she did a great job checking on them, and giving them lots of treats and play time ?. Would absolutely hire her again!”

About: 5 years of experience of dog sitting. Walks, scratches and cuddles are my top skills. From a dog who is 8 lbs to a dog who is 55lbs, happy to help make their day. I work full-time but mostly remotely from the Downriver area and Berkley area. This gives me the opportunity to take care of your furry family member with potty breaks and walks. Most of the time I take care of the pets in their own home. My clients have also asked me to drop them off at daycare and pick them up too if they could not.
“My kitties were happy and healthy when I returned home. Elisabeth was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely have Elisabeth care for my kitties again :)”

“Jj was fabulous with Eco and sent me updates after each visit, showing pictures and information about what she had done. She was kind and took good care of my senior cat, petting, playing, and making her feel comfortable.”

About: I’ve grown up with a dog and have dog-sat multiple friends dogs. I love taking them on long walks, playing with them outside, and keeping them company indoors! I currently work from home Mondays and Fridays and will be attentive to your dogs needs throughout those days. I’m also am fully available some weekends and overnight. I am happy to adhere to whatever lifestyle your dog is used to. I love taking dogs on long walks and exploring the city together, and also just as happy cuddling on the couch with your dog if that’s what makes them comfortable.

About: I’ve had dogs ever since I was a child! I currently have a 14 year old dog at my parents house in Troy so I love a senior dog :) I also have puppy watched for many friends and love to be with them for a walk and check in! I’m currently a Master’s Student (on summer break) who works evenings in the week and days on the weekends bartending at Batch! I am starting an internship in mid-May, but will be mostly virtual Making your pet happy while you’re away is my number one priority! Whether it’s an oldie who just needs some pets and food while we chill in the sun, or a younger pet that needs some play time and some walks, my goal is to leave them feeling happy. I know pets are so so important to everyone (as they are to me) so I always want to match the care I would want for my babies :)
“Caitie was excellent. She provided me with excellent updates with a photo on how my little poodle was doing as she completed her visits. She was very thoughtful with getting to know my little dog, who is cautious around new people. I will be having Caitie back next month!”

About: I have helped take care of my family dog for the last 10 years. I now live away from home and I am missing my time with my dog! I enjoy walking and bathing dogs. My family dog has a very strict eating and medicine routine, so I am used to being meticulous about pet care. I am a medical student at Wayne State University, however, I have some flexibility in my schedule. I am available consistently in the evenings, but with enough notice, I can make other times work during the day. I will make sure to follow any instructions on not only direct pet care, but if you need me to shut doors, keep lights on, etc. to make sure your dog is as safe and comfortable in your home as possible:)

Bre got along great with my pups. They can be unnerved when new people enter the house, but after a few barks, they were on the couch with her. I plan to have Bre watch my pups for a night next week. I was very happy with her communication and timeliness. Thank you, Bre!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
